St Alphonsus behavioral health has been a godsend for me. I have been a OCD patient since 2014. When I first started requesting OCD medicine at St Lukes, I was referred to sage health care. What I did not know at the time is St Lukes behavioral health is based in Twin Falls and St. Alphonsus behavioral health is based in Boise. At sage health care I started with a nurse practitioner who later retired and then I upgrade to a Physician assistant who left the practice and moved. In 2024 after 10 years at Sage Health care I decided if they were short on providers and realizing I drive by the St Alphonsus behavioral health In patient office, I would try to transfer to St Alphonsus behavioral health out patient. At St. Alphonsus instead of getting a Nurse practitioner or Physician assistant I started seeing a Physiatrist. I am very pleased with the treatment at St. Alphonsus and I would definitely recommend their behavioral health and Dr. Ken Squires to anyone needing treatment for mood disorders.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

inpatient iconInpatient

Clients requiring treatment in an inpatient rehab are often those who need stabilization support as they exit detox or contend with a life crisis. Residing at the treatment facility enables clients to focus exclusively on their recovery. They engage in extensive psychotherapy and recovery-focused life skills training to support their sustained sobriety and prepare them for outpatient and community-based care. Evidence-based holistic therapies, such as experiential therapy and meditation, are also commonly available.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Clients participating in a rehab aftercare program receive a variety of services designed to support their sustained sobriety and successful reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Rehab aftercare services may include formal outpatient care, such as addiction counseling and recovery education provided in an outpatient treatment center. They may also include community-based services, including 12 step program induction, peer coaching, and vocational training. These programs are typically designed in partnership with the client's case manager.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Idaho provides treatment for addiction to drugs. It usually includes a combination of treatment methods that can involve counseling, medication, and a variety of evidence-based therapies. Programs are designed to help individuals manage their substance use disorder long-term.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Mocked for whistleblowing poor, and illegal medical services. Unfortunately they DO offer shock therapy for any and all. WILL lie to hide it. Don't expect compassion or honesty 💙. Shout out to Deana/Deena/Dina for having the access to security footage and employee information that could lead to a massive lawsuit and whistleblowing for malpractice! If you want to be led astray, let down, and misdiagnosed, feel free to come on in to St Al's. If you want some actual help, get clean on your own and quit calling for pharmaceutical nonsense

Please, when considering this facility. Take into account their may be a few disgruntled patients that gave low stars purely based on being held for their own good. I started my journey at this facility with that mindset. However, the staff and fellow patients quickly turned my experience around for the better. They're kind, caring, compassionate and genuinely have our best interest at heart. Of course, some staff were frazzled but..can you imagine what their job would be like? I was honestly surprised more of them weren't. If you have a loved one struggling with mental illness or just life in general. I'd HIGHLY suggest this facility. Or if you're simply reading this and have the means to donate anything. Please do, this place changed my life and they deserve to be around for a great while longer!

This place diagnosed me with three different mental health issues(GAD,Bipolar,Schizoaffective-bipolar type) in less then a year.I’m right now seeing mental health professionals in tri cities,Wa and tell them everything.I contacted all the hospitals I have been at to give copies of my medical records.I have been seeing the same mental health professionals for almost a year and they diagnosed me with Bipolar with unspecified psychosis. The people I see to get help me with mental health issues have a hard time diagnosing me with schizoaffective-bipolar type, because I don’t hallucinate(I never see or hear things.)I’m currently taking ability with Wellbutrin.I also found out that I have audio processing disorder and the hearing doctor said I might have ADHD.So I invested to see a Psychologist and he told me I have a learning disability or neurological deficit. He also told me I have ADHD.I was homeless and hospitalized in three different states.Through out my life I had more than 10 diagnoses.Just took a picture of my current diagnosis,I just got my results from a Psychologist a couple of days ago-so updating my review.I honestly don’t care what people think of me,because a mental health is just a label and doctors go back and fourth on my diagnosis.

This review is about the pediatric unit here. I am so thankful for them. They create a safe place for the kids to talk, they play with them, their interactions with them seem to be so sweet. And their endless patience with all my phone calls and questions, and always having answers, and showing that they were truly invested in getting to know the kids in ways that were appropriate to help them in any way they can was so reassuring. Even after my child was discharged, we had a tough moment and I called and spoke to both Andy and Trevor and they were so calm and gentle and gave the support they could to the best of their ability. Terri was the first one I spoke to there when filling out the initial paperwork and she handled my tears and general trainwreck-self like a champ. She was filled with so much compassion and gentleness and it really made me feel like my son was in a safe place. Trent, the social worker is AMAZING. I am so thankful for his insight and his work at finding different local services that could help us, but also just taking time to get to know my kid and really investing in helping my child and helping my husband and I coming up with some game plans, and making some suggestions. The whole team is really committed to helping these kids and I am forever grateful for them. The decision to have your child stay in a place like this is the hardest decision a parent can make. I am so thankful that it worked out well. And I am so thankful for the team there and their hard work and their care for the kiddos, that turned this situation into a good, growing experience. *edited to add* and I can't forget Dylan! She was quick to act when I had a potential medical concern, and thoroughly checked and took care of my concern! I had a question to ask after my child was discharged and when my child heard that I was talking to Dylan, said child wanted to just chat with her, and she willing engaged in conversation. **edit** sadly, i just called because my son had left some books there after his stay. I spoke to dylan, and despite the pleasant experience with her previously, when I called today she was quite cold and uncaring. Very disappointed in her demeanor after the experience I had while my son was inpatient and I was visiting. hopefully she isn't one to only pretend to care when parents are watching. I had to take a star off because of her attitude.
