There was a time in my 26-year community partnership with Lifeways when I wasn't the biggest fan. I can honestly say there has been a significant shift. From more services, more accessible community friendly leadership. Thoughtful and compassionate employees. If you have hesitated in the past because of past experiences or concerns, I would recommend giving them another shot. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I was here from 2002-2004, I remember Winnie, Martin, and my advocate her name was Ginny, I also remember Linda the counselor. I think the part I liked most here was the swimming pool and the wood shop, I made alot of cool things in shop class. I returned home in January of 2004, met my husband at the age of 18 in December of 2004, and we were married march 15th 2005, still going strong. The only thing this place taught me was how to fear men. I used to call every so often and check in with Winnie and Linda to let them know how I was doing. Well at 38 years old, 20 years of marriage, and 7 kids later, I'd say I'm doing pretty damn good, no thanks to NCH and the staff that only showed up to get a paycheck.

I was a resident here in the JEWITT House from Jan 14th 2004 to Jan 15th 2005 from age 16 to just before 18 this place cause me a severe amount of PTSD, clausterphobia, and plenty more trauma where that came from. The staff literally abused us any chance they got for any little reason they could come up with.. One day in August of 2004 after a visit with my dad where i got my cartiledge pierced on the top of my ear, once ge left i got really sad I was in the milieu (their word for living room) i was standing in the the floor legth widnow crying because i missed my dad and i didnt know when i would see hin again. i was upset Winnie as she liked to be called came in and told me i needed to go to the safe room ( a 7×7 cell because i was emotional i just wanted to be comforted i just wanted to be left alone, i refused to go be locked in a tiny cell so she physically grabbed me slammed me down onto the ground had me by my hair and was slamming my head into the window sill on the floor my brand new 1 hour old piercing was smashed multiple times into the hard surface it hurt so bad id never felt pain like it at that time my ear was pierced several more times as the earing went in and out every time she slammed my head down which i kept lifting up because the pain in my ear was so bad. my ear extreemly swollen black and blue and green after her attack. i was then dragged to the "saferoom" thrown inside and the door slammed behind me where Winnie stood on a peddle that locked me inside the room with no knobs on the inside and no windows and having zero contact with humans this is where i would remain for weeks at a time. the enviroment was very very dictatorship we were not cared about. our best intrest was never top priority. i was robbed of an adequate education my senior year of highschool i spent in their "on campus school" that serviced all the grades. i worked out of text books no lectures no lessons no teaching nothing. i was drugged by their onsite psychologist diagnoaed with deveral disorders that were later disproved in adulthood. they drug the children there they abuse them i had seen more abuse from this particular group home than i had ever had in my entore life. the therapist at the time her name was Linda Lucas she had a little malteese puppy named lilly i believe if my memory serves me well she was ok but she wasnt a therapist you could trust. not once the entire year i lived there did i feel safe. i had issues as a teen dont get me wrong i was angry and traumatized. but when youre a teen in the early 2000s and youre creating havoc by running away and doing stupid shit the government doesnt really approve. I ran away aloyy while at NICH i felt safer on the run than i ever did in that home. the stories from there are endless they roomed me one time with a girl who happened to secually assault me. she then grew up to be a sex offender in her adult life. my safety and well being was never put first. our lives were in the complete mercy of these adults who are supposedly suppose to be trustworthy and "help" us were the ones hurting us i had issues at 17 dont get me wrong i was an entitled wildchild who just wanted to be understood and loved sadly i didnt get any of that from this place. i left NICH more messed up than i came in .thankfully i met my husband in August of 2005 and weve been together ever since we have 2 beautiful daughters. ive been in therapy for more than a decade. i am still in therapy today constantly dealing with the trauma i endured there. i have flash backs and nightmares, i have panic attacks and OCD. I have severe ptsd and trauma responses still at 37 years old I'll be 38 in march. theres a million more things i could say about this place. every single bit of it true with documentation and "incident reports" to back up every statement i make. this is how i experienced the horror of this "home" i may still deal with daunting PTSD that came from the sever abuse from this place and their staff. but i have forgiven. i cant tell you why but i have. but i will never ever forget.

Oregon is ranked 45th nationwide in terms of addiction treatment affordability, with an average cost of addiction treatment of $58,894.
The costs of drug and alcohol rehab in Oregon vary widely and depend on several factors, including:
The costs of addiction treatment listed for cities and states are averages based on the cost of the treatment types listed above. These averages are high due to the cost of medical detoxification and residential inpatient rehab programs.
These numbers also reflect the raw cost of drug rehab, before any insurance coverage. The typical individual seeking addiction treatment can expect to pay much less for outpatient or intensive outpatient services than the averages listed below.
There are many ways to pay for drug rehab in Oregon. Most treatment centers accept cash or self-payment, as well as private health insurance. However, there are many treatment centers in Oregon that accept Medicaid and Medicare, or offer sliding scale payments or other low-cost payment options. Here’s the complete breakdown of how to pay for addiction treatment in Oregon.
UnitedHealth Group is the most widely-accepted insurance for drug rehabs in Oregon, with 162 treatment centers in the state accepting their insurance. Blue Cross Blue Shield is the 2nd most popular with 151 treatment centers accepting it followed by Aetna in 3rd accepted by 148 drug rehabs.
