There were no therapists and the whole day were spent indoors in the coach doing nothing drove me insane. Rather be dead than be in shoreline.

The worst treatment center in the entire world. The staff are unprofessional, emotionally abusive and absolutely vile. I would not recommend anyone go here. Zero activities, boredom, the food is processed and unhealthy. I was hungry. The house is nice-ish. But very little structure and lacking in absolutely everything including kindness. DO NOT GO HERE.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I came here not knowing if i was ready to commit to my recovery but knowing i needed to not only for my family but for myself. the staff here was nothing but amazing and welcoming for the most part. They really made this place feel like home. even if some things weren't always perfect or ideal it was always figured out or given a resolution. Shoutout to my therapist she was nothing but amazing and helpful with what i needed in my recovery. The DTS were friendly and directed as needed. The recovery coaches were great also and made it fun! Nurse staff was helpful and super caring and easy to talk to. Overall my experience didn't start off great but it ended spectacular and i gained so many new friendships and my love for life again being here surrounded by the support and love from all staff. if you're looking for recovery this is the place if you're ready for change. Thank you shoreline for helping me help myself. I'll never forget all the memories I've made here. leaving here was hard but im ready for recovery now.

When you’re trying to recover from something as difficult (to say the least) as an eating disorder for the sake of yourself and the people you love, the last place you would want to seek recovery is here. The staff is incredibly rude, although they say they work with patients that suffer with depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, self injury and substance abuse as well as an eating disorder. The first time I saw a therapist there, she asked if I still loved the man that assaulted me after opening up about my PTSD, of all questions you could possibly ask. You would expect more sympathy in a situation that’s hard enough already, but instead you’re given more limits than you thought you would have in a “recovery-positive” space. As an example, the first day I was here, they told me to limit my own water intake and patients were only allowed half a cup of water for every meal they gave us. They will praise their own general recovery process (which is giving you a paper with a meal plan to follow outside of the treatment center) and think it’s going to help you, but they don’t really care about your feelings as a patient. Another thing that happened the first day I was there: the dietician argued with me for several minutes straight, since I didn’t want to eat hummus off a small plate with carrots. I ate the carrots, but I didn’t eat the hummus, so she said I HAD to eat hummus off the plate with a spoon. How could that possibly help somebody recover?? Then for dinner, we had peas and a block of cheese…This is not recovery this is RIDICULE!

If you were actually a client here, please reach out directly so that we can explain our guidelines as they are all grounded in solid reasoning. Otherwise, we honestly do hope you have found a better treatment match for your needs.

Horrible treatment center. Mixed up my meds on multiple occasions. Refused meds to me one evening because the "new nurse didn't have the correct charts". When brought to the attention of the director she was completely unaware of any of the situations. I was forced to AMA. I am 34 yrs old and luckily can account for my meds. But this is a adolescent and adult treatment center. Not all kids know their meds.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Hi Michelle. The path towards recovery is a process and everyone’s recovery journey is different. Context regarding medication situations is always important. Shoreline ensures proper checks and balances are in place, so medication is delivered correctly, and any uncertainty is double checked by others to confirm proper delivery. If you’d like to speak with our Executive Director, Jennifer Teutscher, regarding your review please contact her at 562-434-6007, extension 15.

We had a very positive experience with Shoreline and our loved one has a completely different relationship with food. The intense emotional work (in both groups and individual therapy) has created lasting changes in self-image and provided practical, effective strategies to cope with stress in healthy ways. We couldn't have hoped for a better outcome. The program is solid and professionally implemented.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
