Heart of Hannah Outreach Center is located in Travelers Rest, South Carolina and has been around since 2001. It’s an inpatient renewal and recovery program for women based on the principle that drug and alcohol addiction can be a painful experience not only for the addict but their loved ones.
Renewal Program
They boast an 8 out of 10 success rate for those who complete their program who are able to follow through with recovery. They also provide a 6 or 12 month renewal program with aftercare.
A Typical Day in the Program
Here you’ll have three group sessions every day along with chores and exercise time. You’ll get breakfast, lunch and dinner and quiet time for journaling every evening. You’ll have coffee and the morning devotion time each morning.
Visitation here is limited because they want you to be focused on your recovery. You have to follow all inpatient guidelines or your daily privileges may be revoked or you can be discharged.
Faith Based Addiction Recovery
This treatment program is based in the Christian faith. The facility was founded and is still operated by Narvis Hart who has a dedicated interest in helping women overcome addiction. She developed the program and guides women in their recovery journey.
What I really like about this treatment center is that they have a schedule that provides patients with daily tasks and responsibilities and an environment that makes Travelers Rest a good place to begin recovery.

DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). It was intended to help clients become more self-sufficent and move forward without the need for expensive, ongoing therapy. It includes an emotional self-help method called “rational self-counseling,” the purpose of which is to give clients all the skills needed to handle future emotional issues by themselves, or with significantly less professional help.
