About Bicycle Health Suboxone Clinic

Bicycle Health in Illinois is an online clinic only. They offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid use disorder and also treat co-occurring disorders for adults. They do this through telehealth services.

They accept different plans from Aetna (such as HMO, POS, PPO, EPO, and Medicare Advantage), Blue Cross Blue Shield, and Cigna. They accept a limited number of patients on Medicaid which means sometimes they aren’t accepting Medicaid patients. At the time of this writing, if you’re uninsured, they offer a self pay plan for $199 per month plus medication costs which can run up to $150 per month.

The program starts with a call, and they’re available 24/7. You’ll talk with a provider about your situation and decide whether the program is a good fit. If it is, your next appointment will be with a clinician who will work out a custom care plan and write your prescription. The appointments are all online telehealth video calls.

If you move forward with treatment, the medication they use is Suboxone. Suboxone is a brand name drug containing buprenorphine and naloxone. You’ll get a prescription and be able to pick it up from your pharmacy as soon as it’s available, which is often the same day.

The doctors you’ll see are all trained in addiction medicine and have experience in the addiction field. MAT is an evidence based treatment that offers good long term recovery rates. Suboxone is a long acting drug which means it’s released into your system slowly. The treatment reduces cravings without making you feel high. It also reduces the risk of overdose. You’ll reach your effective dose within 1-2 days of your first dose.

You’ll get more than just medication through the telehealth services. They have online support groups you can attend from the privacy of your home. There’s health coaching, and therapy for co-occurring disorders. Many people in addiction treatment have co-occurring disorders. Common disorders are anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. The doctors can prescribe treatments for your behavioral health needs as well as your addiction.

Many clients give the online clinic good reviews. One former client noted that the doctors are caring and nonjudgmental. Another mentioned the program is convenient and he has a good relationship with his doctor.

Accepted Insurance

Bicycle Health Suboxone Clinic works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Clients in outpatient rehab receive a variety of services based on their unique and evolving needs. Typical outpatient treatment modalities include individual, group, and family counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and community reintegration support. Many programs also provide medication assisted treatment (MAT) for clients recovering from alcohol and/or opioid dependency. Clients exiting inpatient treatment or those who are at an elevated risk of relapse may engage in more robust treatment, such as intensive outpatient (IOP) programming.
inpatient iconInpatient
When participating in an inpatient rehab program, you'll reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program. Your housing and meals are provided, allowing you to focus on your recovery without outside triggers, stressors, and other distractions. You'll receive daily addiction counseling, drawing on various psychotherapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Many inpatient drug rehabs also offer complementary holistic therapies, such as yoga, meditation, or animal therapy, and creative arts therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) enable clients to receive high-level care while living at home. Clients may choose to enter IOP instead of enrolling in inpatient care post-detox or they may transition from an inpatient rehab into IOP. Intensive outpatient treatment involves multiple therapeutic sessions per week and includes a combination of psychotherapy and addiction and recovery education. Many programs also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) and/or holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and massage.
sober-living iconSober Living Homes
Living in a sober living home in Illinois is a lot like living in a traditional home. Everyone must contribute to household chores and maintenance. All residents must work and pay rent. Individuals can mostly come and go as they please, but they must be home before curfew. Most men's and women's sober living homes also host house meetings where they resolve disputes, assign responsibilities, and welcome new residents.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
As a flexible option, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) is tailored for those who don't require 24-hour care. PHP treatment can include daily therapeutic sessions and services such as relapse prevention and medication management. Based on your needs, PHP treatment duration can average 90 days and require a minimum of 20 hours of commitment weekly. While a partial hospitalization program typically requires a commute, telehealth may be available. PHP treatment costs can vary but are often covered by most insurance.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Treatments

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Men and women in Illinois learn to recognize their strengths and capabilities within a group therapy setting. This helps to boost their self image and self confidence as they work toward overcoming addiction and building a healthier life. Group therapy is a perfect environment for you to see successful recovery behaviors and become inspired to manage your addiction.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

During couples therapy in Illinois, you may work on a variety of relationship challenges. Couples therapy can address topics such as finances, children, health, addiction, intimacy, external stressors, and family relationships. You'll develop tools to address these types of challenges in healthy ways.

Family therapy helps to rebuild trust and strengthen relationships that have been affected by addiction. Therapists use guided interventions to help families improve their interactions and address underlying issues that impact their relationships. This helps create a supportive atmosphere for the recovery process.
