About Bowling Green Brandywine Treatment Center

The facility accepts Maryland and Delaware Medicaid. They also take most major insurers. They welcome partnerships with new providers so check with them if you don’t see your provider listed.

There’s an inpatient residential treatment program for adults 18 and older, both women and men. The average stay is between 21 to 28 days but your treatment may be shorter or longer depending on your unique needs.

In the dual diagnosis treatment program, you’ll see a psychiatrist once a week for medication management. You’ll also have a morning process group with your counselor and then move into different psychoeducational programs during the day.

In the regular inpatient rehab program, you’ll learn about the 12 Step recovery model and have a plethora of programs to choose from. Some of those programs include learning about the cycles of behavior and self responsibility, stress tricks, anger and substance use, and making amends.

The dual diagnosis program has many of the same classes, but there are some additional classes as well. Some of these include focused thinking, impulse control, overcoming depression, and clean thinking. You’ll also learn better ways of handling anxiety and stress.

They also offer experiential therapies such as music therapy, Reiki, and meditation. In both program tracks, you’ll have the opportunity to exercise at least once per day. There’s also a weekly family program on Sundays after which you’ll get an hour to meet with your family. They’ll also have the option of an Al Anon meeting.

The center offers a specialized treatment program for pregnant women where they work to help you get through detox and rehab safely for both you and the baby. You’ll also see an OB/GYN as needed.

There’s a partial hospitalization program (PHP) that lasts about 10 days. The PHP is for men who need structured treatment before returning to their home environment. In this program, you’ll live off campus. They’ll provide transportation to the six hour daily program.

It's not a good treatment facility. No groups are on time there anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes late. Except for the AA and NA meetings brought in from the outside. It's very unorganized and that usually starts at the top. Some of the nurses are uneducated and kept trying to give me the wrong mods. Med lines you would sit in for an hour and h A half. When my intake was done to go there they knew I had surgery scheduled and they said I could still go through with the surgery. When I got there the nurse practioner told me that they would have to medically discharge me then. So yes they lie to you just to get you in for insurance money. These people could care less about anyone, it's all about money. This place should be shut down. I seen them drop people off at the shelter with no notice cause there insurance ran out. It's ashame but there are some good techs and councilors. But there hands are tied. Like I said it starts at the top and from the ceo to thevsupervisors, this place needs a complete makeover or shut down. And if you have a daughter you may not wanna send her their cause she has a high chance of leaving pregnant.

I wish they had a zero star….this place deserves a negative rating. It’s horrible. From the moment you walk in the door. I can honesty say that if you want recovery turn around because this place makes you want to use. So many broken promises from the big man in charge. Never trust anyone who wear ashie jeans, im still waiting for my cookies and cigarettes. And you can never find staff when you need them. It’s like he says he going to do something and then hide. They talked to us is so degrading we really don’t matter. I was here before it got worst. No one knows answers and you feel so unseen. You couldn’t pay me to return if I had to. Here is a funny. This place is so bad the owner had to give a five star review he don’t trust his self. You have 2 good counselors. good Luck

I went to Bowling Green almost 4 years ago. I first went to the detox program, then the rehab, and then I stayed for their extended partial program and although it wasn’t a completely perfect experience, and you can smell the mushrooms in the air from a nearby farm, they must have done something right because this was my 27th rehab facility and it worked for me. I’m still clean to this day and I’m grateful to Bowling Green because of it

Accepted Insurance

Please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Bowling Green Brandywine Treatment Center works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Bowling Green, located in Kennett Square, PA, provides residential treatment and rehab programs for men and women, aged 18 and older, who are struggling with substance use disorders and dual diagnosis concerns. Treatment and rehab in these programs features cognitive behavioral therapy and person-centered therapeutic approaches.

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don't require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for ~ 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Clients who can benefit from this step-down level of care receive group, individual counseling, lectures, relapse prevention, medication management and 12-step education five to seven days a week during the morning and early afternoon.

Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. Bowling Green, located in Kennett Square, PA, provides medically monitored detoxification treatment and rehab services for adult men and women, ages 18 and above

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Alcoholism is a syndrome of dependent alcohol use. Also called alcohol use disorder (AUD), the symptoms include craving alcohol, not being able to stop drinking, and feeling anxious or irritable when not drinking. For many people, alcohol rehab in Pennsylvania is a beneficial treatment. Programs offer many levels of care, including medical and behavioral therapies.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Recreational therapy (aka therapeutic recreation) uses creative and fun activities to help with addiction recovery. Recreational therapists lead patients in entertaining and engaging activities like sports or games; art (drawing, painting, sculpture); drama, music, and dance; and/or community outings (field trips) to improve patients' physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

DO NOT GO HERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If I could give no stars I would. When I arrived at the facility, I was taken into the front door and in that time I was ignored, fed food that I was allergic to after addressing my allergies I have. There was feces on the wall along with bodily fluids. Trash on the ground, Flies everywhere, Wasn’t given my Prescriptions due to miscommunication from the Facility I was at before. No sort of organization , Witnessed a man throw up on the ground and no one came to care for him or clean up the mess. Was harassed, Insulted, and there was also racism due to me being white. I was told I had a bed and ended up sitting in the hallway for an hour. I literally had to say that I wanted to commit suicide in order to leave the facility. Once the EMS arrived as soon as I got in the back of the EMS, the EMS told me that there has been Over 300 cases stating the same information. Then I was transferred all the way to Delaware hospital with no phone only my ID and a bank card. The staff there did not treat patients as people. This facility needs to be shut down what they display online is not what the rehab states to be. It is literally a methadone and Suboxone clinic. If you’re looking to get drug and alcohol rehab rehabilitation, this is not the place for you. DO NOT GO HERE.

Response from the owner
Reading this is extremely concerning, as our goal is to be a place of solace where true healing can begin.
