About Circles of Care — South Area Outpatient

Circles of Care offers outpatient group, individual, and family counseling in Melbourne, Florida. The highly qualified therapists here help adults who are struggling with behavioral health issues, including substance use disorders, in the South Brevard area. Care includes psychiatric and psychological evaluations, medication management and outpatient counseling.

As with their other facilities, the clinic is staffed by board certified psychiatrists and clinical specialists. Alongside the mobile MAT service, the mobile team is also able to assess you for addiction and behavioral health disorders, providing you with treatment recommendations and necessary referrals regardless of your payment source.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, that began using video conferencing to provide care and group therapy sessions to help you stay physically, and emotionally healthy. If you are hard of hearing or deaf, they will provide an interpreter service at no cost to you and offer care in English and Spanish. They will work with major insurance companies.

I've only ever been outpatient with this clinic for ADHD and this place is absolute hell to deal with. I've now been trying to get in contact with them for THREE WEEKS to update my insurance information on an insane bill. Every single time I call, I'm either transferred to a dead line or they straight up do not pick up the phone. I just spent 30 minutes attempting to call them through the entire phone tree. Not a single option picked up the phone, even after multiple attempts. I waited with the phone ringing for 5 minutes. I think they may straight up just shut their phones off when they don't want to deal with phone calls. This isn't the first time, either. About 75% of the time, regardless of what time you call, they do not pick up the phones. It takes multiple days of calling to get through to anyone helpful. As someone who has been going to this clinic for 2 years, if you have other outpatient options, choose those.

They don't care at all. Instead of being upfront with me they are trying to dump me as a patient. I have been in their care for 14 years and now every appointment I have with Dr gates gets cancelled last moment. I called begging for an appointment when I was at the lowest point in my life recently only to be met with rudeness and refusal.

Other Forms of Payment

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

12-step icon12-Step

12 step programs support recovery through emotional, psychological, and spiritual development to address the root causes of addiction. These programs are peer directed, with participants regularly attending 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round. Recovery is based on "working the steps" to understand the source of addiction, take accountability for one's life choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Age-specific, gender-separate, and other specialized programs are widely available.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

My sister is DEAD because of this place. She wanted help, they were in the process of transferring paperwork to get into a long term rehab. They released her WITH medications before the process was finalized, negligence, disgrace, and beyond corrupt. The same day they released her I got a call she was hit by a car. I would never recommend this place and pray it gets shut down

I would not recommend. It is the start of WEEK FOUR since a baker act .. WEEK FOUR since his release. They CAN ELLED ALL HIS THERAPY appointments. He has not been able to been seen , we were established already with appointments! I have called every other day for FOUR weeks. The person you messed up the communication, I was told it went in the wrong mailbox, it was found when that person came back from vacation. I have gotten the run around EVERY TIME I CALL. I have gotten no progress updates at all to the resolve of THEIR mess up !! Every time I call , someone who is supposed to be handling it is on vacation , I was told they were back on WEEK TWO. Now FIVE DAYS into WEEK FOUR I am still being told someone is on vacation. The other responses back I get - oh she’s on lunch , she just ran to the other building , she’s with a patient. I NEVER RECEIVE A CALL BACK. THEY ARE NOT HERE TO HELP FOUR WEEKS SINCE A BAKER ACT RELEASE AND I STILL HAVE NO UPDATE FOR A RESOLVE TO A ISSUE THEY REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE. MY HUSBAND STILL HASNT EVEN BEEN ABLE TO SEE ANYONE WHY WOULD THEY THINK ITS A GOOD IDEA TO CANCEL ALL HIS THERAPY AFTER HIS BAKER ACT THEN REFUSE TO TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION. WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO GET HELP IF YOU DONT WANT TO HELP PEOPLE GET OUT OF THIS LINE OF WORK
