Receiving treatment in this way allows you to spend less time driving to this facility and more time focusing on your healing.

As the parent of a child struggling with addiction, I can t express enough how grateful I am for the incredible care my son received at Gulf Breeze Recovery. From the very first contact, the staff was understanding, kind, and professional, always making us feel supported and informed. They created a treatment plan tailored to my child s specific needs, and we were impressed by the genuine compassion and dedication of the therapists and counselors. My son was given the tools to not only manage his addiction, but to heal emotionally and mentally as well. The facility itself was welcoming, comfortable, and peaceful, offering a safe and nurturing environment for recovery. Communication was consistent, and I always felt like I was a part of the process, which meant so much during such a difficult time. I m thrilled to say that thanks to GBR, my son is now on a positive path to recovery. If you are a parent looking for a place that truly cares and works hard to help, I wholeheartedly recommend this rehab facility. It has made a world of difference for our family

I joined the army in March 2003 and retired 1 April 2024. I went yesterday, voluntarily, to seek help for the first time in my life and agreed to a detox program. Today you had me escorted out of your building in handcuffs and sent to the GB ER. Because I could tell that what you had to offer wasn t applicable to my needs I told you I wanted to leave in search of other therapies locally. I was courteous and made a point to stay away from your staff and others in recovery while the detox meds you forced on me wore off. Your staff lied to me about being able to leave.I spent 4 years of my life in combat zones and this is what I receive when looking for help.I m truly disgusted and will never seek help from any organization again. YOU are the reason we don t seek help.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Trauma therapy helps you work through the psychological impact that traumatic events have had on your life. Your therapist helps you identify the physical, emotional, and mental triggers and develop coping mechanisms. This helps rebuild a sense of safety and trust in yourself and others.

Words cannot express what GBR did for me! Starting with Heather, she was there for me throughout my incoherent days leading into the program as well as throughout my stay, she was detrimental to me getting into GBR and I adore her!! The nurses and staff were also wonderful and my councilor was equally important in my new recovery!! I got a new lease on life when I left there!

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you so much for allowing us to share your journey. Every single one of our guests leave their own special mark on our hearts, and we are so lucky that we get to see them transform.

Recently the need of the services offered by Gulf Breeze Recovery came to be. From the start they have been nothing but professionals. My first contact was with Heather their Admissions Director . She was a god send. She was always available via phone, text or email, even on weekends. She answered all my question to help me get through this situation. The facility is great, clean and well organized. The treatment they provide has been tremendous. They not only do they help with the addiction you are there for; but also strive to give you life coping skills to deal with the everything once you complete the program. I highly recommend Gulf Breeze Recovery if you are having problems with addiction. They are caring and sympathetic to your feelings and needs and don't make you feel ashamed for asking for help. If you need help, reach out to Heather and she will start you on the road to recovery with a kind word and a willingness to genuinely help you overcome the obstacles in your life.

My son was a patient there for 2months. He has been home for 9 months and has maintained sobriety and drug free. It was difficult at the facility, due to withdrawals and medication. He made it through and so far is holding a job .

Hi, I learned about Gulf Breeze Recovery (GBR) through my research, as well as word of mouth references from friends, and others who successfully completed the program. I had developed a serious addiction problem (alcohol) after I became disabled in 2020 due to a stroke. The stroke left me unable to preform basic physical functions, and could no longer continue my profession of 45+ years. In a four year period of time, I spent more time at the hospital that I did at home due to the disability mentioned above. The illness included internal bleeding, audio and visual hallucinations, and the inability to walk or stand alone. My ability to balance was severely impaired. I was constantly falling and injuring myself. I was told I would never recover. I obviously have now made a full recovery and live a good life by myself. After falling and laying on the floor for up to 10-12 hours, due to being unable to stand or crawl, I decided that I had to make a choice, to either continue drinking Vodka and likely die within a year, or be placed into long term nursing, which is what the Medical professionals were recommending. The only other option was to enroll into a 60 day+ residential treatment facility, since I had been unsuccessful at quitting drinking on my own. I had gotten to the point of avoiding friends and family due to the embarrassment of my condition of addiction. I contacted my personal physician and informed her I was desperate, and needed treatment badly. I stated that if I could get into treatment, I would do whatever it took to regain my life, self esteem and sobriety. I also acknowledged that even though I had been a successful Mental health professional, I could not be successful without help. Addiction does not discriminate, anyone call fall prey to this insidious condition. While at GBR, I met people from around the United states, who also came to north Florida for this specific treatment program. These people included, medical professionals, Mental health professionals, successful business owners, teachers, military, Etc. I found the entire staff to be very professional, knowledgeable, and that they genuinely cared about the clients they served. The facility and food were second to none. The only requirement for success is an open mind and a commitment to complete the full program and graduate. I wish I had done it sooner. I wish you success on your journey, and wish that you will be able to experience the peace and joy that I have gained. It is worth it, you are worth it. It is your decision, Everyone says that they will get to it tomorrow. It is tomorrow, today. Come join in this exciting journey. My faith, and beliefs have transformed my life.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you for sharing on your successful journey at Gulf Breeze Recovery. Your transformation is truly inspiring. Thank you for sharing your experience and allowing us to be part of it.

Gulf Breeze Recovery (GBR) was my first—and I am confident, my last—experience in a recovery facility. I cannot recommend GBR strongly enough to anyone at any stage of their recovery journey. Based on my personal experience at GBR, my research into other recovery facilities and conversations with fellow GBR guests who have attended other programs, I can confidently assert the following: Excellence in Recovery Care GBR ranks among the top 90% of recovery centers for empowering guests with tools to achieve life-long recovery. Their program equips individuals not only to address addiction but also to enhance all areas of their life. Holistic, Thought-Centered Approach Unlike many recovery programs that focus solely on modifying addictive behaviors (a common approach in psychology), GBR addresses the root cause—our thoughts and how we process them. By emphasizing the connection between thoughts and behaviors, GBR provides a deeper, more sustainable recovery experience. Tailored and Flexible Treatment GBR avoids a “one-size-fits-all” approach, instead offering a range of options that cater to individual needs. Their preference for methods is simple: if it works for you, it’s valid. Personalized Therapy Each guest receives one-on-one sessions with qualified therapists, ensuring a customized recovery path. Empowerment Through Choice Guests are encouraged to "take what you want and leave the rest behind," making recovery a personal and empowering process. Compassionate and Individualized Care GBR’s compassionate team treats every guest as a unique individual, respecting diverse worldviews and experiences. Their approach works even for those with deeply ingrained resistance or skepticism. Exceptional Post-Residency Support After completing the program, GBR provides top-tier post-residency care. Guests are paired with a continuing educator of their choice, offering thoughtful recommendations rather than mandatory steps. This ongoing support ensures that recovery extends beyond the facility. Impactful and Transformative My time at GBR was life-changing. It helped me grow and mature as a person in ways I didn’t anticipate. I am confident the positive effects of my experience will last a lifetime. For anyone seeking a better way to see the world and live their lives, I wish you rapid growth and healing. We all deserve to thrive as part of the shared human experience. Remember, as we are now is not as we must always be.

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us, we are grateful to be part of your healing journey! We believe in our holistic approach so much and are honored to know it made a great impact on you.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! If you or someone you care about needs help and treatment for detox, trauma, and addiction, call GULF BREEZE RECOVERY immediately and ask for HEATHER. I got up the courage to call and immediately knew it was the program I needed to gain healthy skills for a successful recovery. Heather (our wonderful Intake Director, and all-around awesome human being!) eased my fears and made all the arrangements with my family. Mandy and the rest of the nurses/support staff were respectful and gentle. They explained what was happening to me, and gave round the clock care while I was in Detox. I hadn’t realized how sick I actually was. The whole facility is in a lovely setting directly on the water; it’s comfortable, provides adequate privacy for each client, and recognizes our worth without judgment. Excellent, qualified counselors and Program Facilitators teach us new ways to approach the stresses and learn about the brain’s place in both addiction and recovery. I honestly like I’m with family— one which provides loving acceptance and gentle prodding when needed. (I see you, Nolee, Shay, and Rusty!) 👀

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, Viki! We deeply respect your feedback and are glad to hear about your positive journey at Gulf Breeze Recovery. Heather is a special soul and we are fortunate to have her on our team to guide people to their healing journey.
