I have nothing but positive feedback for this treatment center because that's exactly what this is. It treats not only the addiction but the mind as well. My counselor, Kris, has helped me just within a year and a half to completely shift my way of thinking and get to the root of my issues. The Avalon Center staff have been an immense help in navigating my road to better mental health. I was diagnosed with bipolar I disorder last year and these folks have done everything they can to give me the best care possible. I was without insurance for months and they were able to help me apply for patient assistance so that I could get my necessary monthly injection that was prohibitively expensive without insurance. My provider and case manager are both amazing. The staff up front as well. I couldn't be happier with my choice to go with the Avalon Center during this difficult time in my life.

I was in for Knee replacement surgery. From pre-op to the OR to post-op, the entire staff was fantastic. I was lucky to be sent to the second floor of the hospital for recovery where I experienced great care. A special shout out to nurses Teresa and Yo as well as nurse tech Casandra and others. I rarely write reviews, but the extraordinary assistance I received from Tina Carter Pearl at the Bridgeway Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida deserves the highest praise imaginable. Tina is, without question, one of the most dedicated and tenacious professionals I’ve encountered in my 30 years as a retired US Navy Command Master Chief.
Faced with the notoriously difficult task of obtaining documentation from the Veterans Administration—specifically from the James A. Haley Mental Health Center in Temple Terrace—Tina tackled the challenge with the determination of a bulldog. She never lost focus, never gave up, and never left me in the dark. Her persistence in contacting the VA, coordinating with Amy there, and ensuring my course was properly recorded not just at Bridgeway but at the state level was nothing short of heroic.
Tina kept me informed every step of the way, demonstrating a level of care, professionalism, and follow-through that is increasingly rare in today’s workforce. Her “can-do” attitude and relentless pursuit of resolution made me feel supported, respected, and genuinely cared for.

I went there in 2020 for a few weeks. it was a really good program, I was not ready for help though. If you are not ready to get help, it rarely ever works. So I came up with every excuse why I should leave. But the staff, counselors, food and everything else I highly recommend.

I transferred around Fl quite a bit the last couple of yesrs and the panhandle area is without a doubt the most in need of quality MAT. THE ONE IN Panama city is the worst, long lines no phasing past 6 and you are treated like a criminal. Bei.g a phase 27 that was out of the question for me so I enrolled here. The people were great, the clinic was efficient clean and friendly my issues were that it was over 200 miles round trip and the biggest they stand there and watch you pee. I have shy bladder and was to the point of having to use a catheter because it was taking an hour or more to do a urine sample.
I transferred to Tallahassee clinic the drive was a little shorter but they just pat you down before a urine test so that made it way easier BUT the Tallahassee clinic has huge turnover and currently just 2 councelors, they are more interested in squeezing money than helping even at phase 27 they want you to attend 2 groups a month, 4 so called physicals a year and so on...dont get me wrong, the counselors are good and want to help but it is obvious that they have thier hands tied by corporate.
If lakeview could use cameras pat downs or anything other than the stand and stare method for tests i would transfer bsck despite the extra drive...yall PLEASE give that some thought i know I speak for others ss well...you have a really good clinic with really good people you shouldnt abuse patients and staff with this archaic practice.

I Have to say thank you to the behavior techs and supervisors who put in the work to keep me and others safe. The problems I've had here include many things breaking, uncleanliness (a staff forced me and another client to clean a day room that had not been cleaned in what looked like months if not a year.), staff using point sheets as a weapon to make kids scared, some of the staff are just downright petty. I can't say I wasn't helped, The clinical director (Scott Smales) Was so so helpful and helped sort a lot of problems. Behavior tech just don't care a lot along with some supervisors. Thank you to the ones who did do the work they were supposed to and thank you to the interns and my therapist for making my stay somewhat less scary.

I have been coming here for over a decade now since the onset of my condition. Annie and Jim, the nurses who administer my monthly injections, have been a constant source of comfort and pillars of professionalism. April Burgess, whom I see every 3 months to make sure my medications are working well, goes above and beyond by actually caring how I'm doing and wanting to see me grow and improve as a person. I’ve been on the program for 12 years, I ve had 3 awesome counselors. I stayed with one for 9 years, without her I wouldn’t have made it. She was in recovery herself, so She understood me. It is pretty bad right now, with the employee turnover rate, and organization with the Hurricane season. But with anything there is good and bad. I am sure they will get it back together soon.People need to understand that they are highly critiqued by federal laws. But as long as you do what your supposed to, you will not have any problems.

Completed IOP and I cannot thank the staff enough for their help. I was assigned to Zach’s group where we focused on PTSD and surrounding symptoms. I was reluctant at first to be in a group setting, but found it was a very supportive method to learning not only about your own problems, but the similarity of others problems and finding ways to manage them. Zach was am amazing therapist who was extremely insightful in what people were suffering from. The program, along with therapy, also covered medication management. The design of the care I received gave me the ability to understand what was going on with me and how to learn how to manage it. This was not the first place I want to in Panama City. But it’s the only one I would suggest.

Going from life management to here is like a whole different universe, I did group therapy an am doing tms right now. This is the only place we're I've received legitimate an compassionate care. Denise who does the tms service is amazing. Took a few weeks to figure out my insurance an getting the property diagnosis to receive care an she played phone tag with me the whole time until we got it done. Very grateful

The hospital is genuinely amazing on the adolescent unit. Everything was already taken care of all I needed to focus on was getting better, the staff was amazing besides a couple and they were so patient with me and my mom in the process I recommend this hospital 100% I couldn’t wish for a better place to get the help I need. Honorable mentions -Mrs Bryanna, Mrs Francis, Mr Kendrick, Mr. B and Mrs. Tammy over on the outpatient care. Thank you so much I, and everyone else appreciate you guys more than you know.
