After calming down I’m choosing to redo my review. The lackadaisical efforts of one shouldn’t reflect on the entirety of this place. Fact is this place has changed my life in a short time for the better. The medical staff is top shelf, nurses at the windows are great. The problem I had was that since starting this program I’ve done everything text book as im asked when I’m asked. They were short staffed due to vacation time, sick time, and in the process of hiring more staff. So I checked in with a wait time of 40 minutes 7:00 A.M. I was flagged. So I did exactly what i was told to do in the last class I attended “take homes” and I emailed my counselor 7:17 a.m. asking her to remove the flag so I could dose and I would make out 8:45 meeting. 8:42 am I get called to the window 1 hr and 42 min after arrivel. Window nurse says I still have my flags. I got to my 8:45 am meeting. 8:57 am door opens. I told my counselor what happened and i could only do my treatment plan if I could go from that to the dosing window immediately after because I would be late to work. I was late the day before because for the same issues with staffing I was here 2.5 hours. She said she couldn’t do that. When I’ve seen people walked to the front of the line by a counselor to dose for reasons out of their control causing them to miss their dose spot in line. I’ve since requested a counselor change and chose to stay here. One major reason is Ms Joy helping me out and showing me the proper channels to navigate through my mishap in a calm and courteous way.

This place is garbage! Everybody’s gotta go by the rules but the counselors. Be prepared to wait 2.5-3 hours every day no matter what!

I had a wonderful stay the last 4 days. Even though I was under a baker act, I embraced the process. I had the most amazing, I call them angels, that helped me. First off I can't say enough good things about Ms Candy.sp She was my tech over the weekend. This woman is doing the lords work. She runs a tight ship but knows how to treat each patient. She is humble and kind. Treats us like people that just might be going through it. She takes no bullship tho. I noticed a patient act so different on her day off. She is an asset to Baptist, give that woman a raise she totally deserves it. My nurses Amanda and Curtis OMG couldn't have asked for a better team of people treating me. Amanda has so much compassion, Curtis is so on point and makes sure his people are number 1 to him. Ms Nida and Ms Michelle I just adore. They are so OG and make us feel like we can ask them for anything big or small and be heard. Hopefully I wont see these wonderful humans again. But if i do, I know im going to be well taken care of.

My daughter was inpatient here during a mental health crisis. She has struggled since about the age of 12 and has been hospitalized numerous times in various facilities (various states)- she is now an adult. Her diagnosis are complex and treatment resistant (for the most part). Her stay here was beneficial with therapist, physicians, and most all providers showing care and empathy. Jenna (the charge nurse I believe), my daughter spoke very fondly of. She showed great care towards all the patients. Addy (sp), a mental health tech was also awesome. My daughter also mentioned Ryan was very kind - and listened. These traits are so important in all aspects of healthcare.
There was one issue with a tech working mornings on March 11th in the adult 2 area. This tech had a very rude and almost had a combative attitude. It has no place in this setting. She was a heavier set african american woman with short hair (she did not catch her name)- she was not kind, she was loud, and barked orders as if it were a prison (daughters perception, she has never been arrested). At one point, my daughter said the tech had accosted a patient about using the phone during group and a therapist (I believe she said) had to intervene and tell the tech she allowed it and to back off (basically - stop that behavior). This was the only person my daughter said had a bad attitude. I would hope it was a bad day, because the description of her behavior went beyond what I call clinical efficiency where providers work fast, efficiently - and without thought of emotions. BLUF - this wasn't someone who was not just nice, she came across as unkind - which is different.
I was able to observe a smaller african american female tech (I did not catch her name) interacting with patients and who was very sweet on my visit. She directed me to the enclosed nurses station for help with a question. My interactions were brief, but the facility was clean - orderly, very good as far as inpatient mental health facilities go. All in all, everyone (except the one tech) was kind and helpful - and this is how helping those with mental health issues should be. The psychiatrist my daughter saw even spoke to my daughter about why she should stop smoking/vaping - which I appreciated. They provided her with nicotine gum prescription and resources to try to quit. While she has not quit, she did pick up the nicotine gum and said she will try to pull back and reduce her smoking a little at a time. This was a win - small changes.
Overall, my hope is that the one woman (angry tech) was having a bad day, but even still, kindness and empathy for others is paramount in healthcare. People are never in a hospital because they are functioning efficiently or optimally - be it physical or mental. Thank you to all the staff! My family is very grateful and IF something else happens, we know where to turn.

My stay here was really nice! Better than any other psych hospital. They let me choose my lunch and dinner, provided group therapies through the day, and really listened to all my problems and concerns. I want to give special kudos to Ryan, Jenna, Addy, and Kaci for making my stay amazing. There was also a weekend therapist who was incredibly nice as well, although I can’t remember his name. I was fortunate to get my own room. Facility was clean as well. Overall, I feel like I got the help I needed at Baptist behavioral health unit. I wish I had got everyone’s name to shout out all the staff, but I am super bad with names. Thank you for being a place of compassion during a dark period in my life. I hope I never have to be bad enough to go back, but if I do need help again, Baptist will be my first choice.

I went here 3x as a child and it was a terrible experience. I was dealing with a mother who had munchausen by proxy which I have come to current terms with as an adult. They treated me for bipolar disorder which was a misdiagnosis and now I have trauma from not just this experience but every experience in my childhood with doctors. And the hardest part is that because of the diagnosis I cannot advocate for myself effectively because people write me off as "crazy" when I tell them the story. I finally have evidence now and doctors who heard my story and listened to me. As a child I was helpless even though I fought so hard to get away from my mother. You people wouldn't listen to me. How could you?

If you are hoping to get your teen help, do not look here for it! My daughter was there for a total of 9 days. She was discharged (after stating multiple times that she was not ready and after me telling the doctor she was not ready) and had to be taken back SAME day because Dr. Akinkugbe doesn’t do his job correctly. After she was readmitted he told me she was fine and was treating the hospital as a vacation from home. He told me she had a care plan in place and that we should work with that and he would not recommend admitting her again. The care plan? A sheet of paper that has her answer to questions of what to do when she’s having a hard time. Her answer to the questions? She responded “I don’t know.” That’s a freaking care plan?!
While she was there she self harmed multiple times. Once she was IN THE DAY ROOM, where MULTPILE staff members are, and nobody noticed! Or, maybe they did, they just didn’t care. Another time, she was in the bathroom digging into her legs with a stick she got from outside that, again, NOBODY noticed. They do “skin checks” every night before bed…but you can guess how seriously they take those…because YET AGAIN, nobody noticed.
My daughter doesn’t want to be alive and is not doing well and this hospital has been useless. I am thoroughly disgusted with their lack of care.

I’ve been a patient at The Bridgeway Center off and on my entire life. The work they do is truly remarkable and life changing. When I first came to the Crestview location I was very lost, broken and struggling with day to day tasks, paired with April and Marty as my team I’ve bought my first vehicle and gotten job opportunities that before would’ve never been possible, I have a love for life and mental clarity I’ve never experienced before. Recently I admitted myself to Alterpoint because I was experiencing a nervous breakdown and having strong suicidal thoughts. I have was transferred to Eastpoint. When I first got there, I really tried to escape. But the staff was very patient, comforting, reassuring, very accommodating and definitely had my best interest at heart. The staff considerate and were very concerned about how I was feeling. Calmed me in the best way possible. 300 wing staff was absolutely amazing. They helped my in abundance with much kindness. I can't speak for others but for the staff get 5 stars. The food on the hand gets 2. The meals are a 50/50 gamble. Overall I appreciated EVERYONE and EVERYTHING they did for and offered me. Thanks so much for the help and God bless!!

Everyone here fussing about EP should consider these people you complaining about get paid little to care for your loved one and usually are dealing with a crisis. If it takes 10 minutes before they can get to the phone, trust and believe it’s not because they’re relaxing in their office ignoring you. It’s because they are doing things like helping someone stop banging their head on the wall. Your phone call just isn’t that important.

This place was like HOME to me. They have the kindest and most understanding staff. They offer one on ones and really give you the time and opportunity to reflect on everything your going through. They keep it light hearted and fun when rough conversations were had the day before. They do daily check in and really form genuine and professional connections with their patients. I was able to call back months later to have the staff remember me and list little details I had shared with them. I miss this place and loved that I had the opportunity to go there. A few words can’t express how much I fell about this place. From the minute I walked in I felt like i belonged. The staff is amazing the people are amazing!! There was absolutely no one here I could say a bad word about. They went over and beyond from day one. I was scared coming in thinking it would be like a lockdown facility but was very much the opposite and more like a home environment.
This was my first time in rehab and I would recommend here over and over 1,000 times.
There is a part of me that does not want to leave because of how amazing they are.

This place has helped me so much!! It’s a really great place to go to if you need Help. Ms.Poole is so awesome she has helped me more than I can even count. In 2017 when I started coming Ms.Poole was my counselor and she was amazing! She always made sure I was okay and she listened to me when I I was going through hard times and she really cared. She always tried to help me. She even bought me me and my kids food for me to take to my house when I was going through a hard time. Now she is the Director and she is amazing at that. She makes sure that everything is by the book and she makes sure all of her patients are treated how they are supposed to be!!! I love Ms Poole! She is amazing And Ms Twanna is my counselor now and she is amazing also she really cares about her patients. Whatever anybody is going through she will listen to you and try to help you in anyway that she can. I love her too!!! This place is awesome if you need help they will really try their best to do whatever they can to help!! If you are looking for help, this is the place to go. I have never met anyone as dedicated as Ms. Poole. I came there several years ago in a bad way and they did not have to take a chance on me but they did. The empathy, trust, and respect I was treated with bolstered my desire to succede at this program and I have. It has changed my life and I am forever greatful to Ms. Poole, Sonya, and the rest of the wonderful staff there. I’ve Been at CMTC and always have a good experience. My counselor T always treats everyone I have seen with respect and always smiles always pleasant, Ms. Sonja always pleasant and helpful with all of your needs and always nice, Ms.Earnestine is always on top of the insurance needs of everyone and always so nice and pleasant, Ms. Poole is the best site mngr I’ve ever dealt with always willing to help you with anything she can do for you, everyone goes above and beyond their duties and what I have seen the site is clean and in order. For the size of the facility it is not that big but it is not messy or dirty and is organized from what I have seen.

Well, I moved to Cairo ga 3 years ago from Michigan. The first time visiting the VA in Tallahassee 3 years ago right after I moved here was a shock. Small compared to what I'm used to. I went to the Detroit VA and the Ann Arbor VA. Both facilities were like going to tallahasee Memorial Hospital.. huge. They had parking garages 4 levels. So that was the first thing I noticed. As far as treatment goes, no complaints. Although I would like to see anger management classes or group therapy there.
