I cannot speak to the effectiveness of the program because my son was unable to complete it due to a health crisis. However, I can speak to the kindness, patience, flexibility, and overwhelming desire of the entire staff to help my son through a very difficult situation. At every hurdle they were willing to work with us to find a resolution. Shelly, Monica, Nicole and MANY others went above and beyond in supporting us. For that reason alone I would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone needing care and compassion for a loved one

Gulf Breeze Recovery located just south of Pensacola, Florida is a facility dedicated to the successful rehabilitation of your loved one. As a family member, I gained insight to the 3 Principles approach (mind, consciousness, thought) that is used to actually teach sobriety. Family Weekend provided training and information and answers to so many things I was curious and uninformed about. It also provided the opportunity to see the facility and room where my loved one slept. GBR holds a weekly zoom call open to families in which one of the counselors teaches and serves as a point of contact. Family members are encouraged to continue participation in this call even after graduation of their loved one. The generosity of spirit, genuine caring, and expertise of the doctor, nurses, counselors, and staff members make GBR an outstanding choice for recovery.

I went there in 2020 for a few weeks. it was a really good program, I was not ready for help though. If you are not ready to get help, it rarely ever works. So I came up with every excuse why I should leave. But the staff, counselors, food and everything else I highly recommend.

I Have to say thank you to the behavior techs and supervisors who put in the work to keep me and others safe. The problems I've had here include many things breaking, uncleanliness (a staff forced me and another client to clean a day room that had not been cleaned in what looked like months if not a year.), staff using point sheets as a weapon to make kids scared, some of the staff are just downright petty. I can't say I wasn't helped, The clinical director (Scott Smales) Was so so helpful and helped sort a lot of problems. Behavior tech just don't care a lot along with some supervisors. Thank you to the ones who did do the work they were supposed to and thank you to the interns and my therapist for making my stay somewhat less scary.

The Avalon Center staff have been an immense help in navigating my road to better mental health. I was diagnosed with bipolar I disorder last year and these folks have done everything they can to give me the best care possible. I was without insurance for months and they were able to help me apply for patient assistance so that I could get my necessary monthly injection that was prohibitively expensive without insurance. My provider and case manager are both amazing. The staff up front as well. I couldn't be happier with my choice to go with the Avalon Center during this difficult time in my life.

Dr.Gilliam took great care of my son on the 4th floor! She was absolutely amazing! Along with Sam from respiratory he is (awesome)! They both went above & beyond to make for sure he was improving before sending him home. Also I can't remember the young lady name that took him back quickly but she was amazing also. She has a beautiful voice and was singing my favorite Mariah Carey song lol. She also stopped by to see how he was doing before he was moved to the fourth floor. She checked his breathing and temperature I said I'm going to take him back now! The two ladies ( that were er doctors) and the guy that was his er nurse all amazing. I had my baby here on 11/4/25 at 34 weeks which meant she had to spend some time in the special care nursery. I was terrified of what it meant for my baby having her early, but every single person we encountered here during our 14 days was heaven sent. No one wants to have to leave their baby in the NICU, but the L&D nurses, post partum nurses, nursery nurses, neonatologists, nurse practitioners, housekeeping staff, etc were all so wonderful that it made us feel more at ease and confident in our baby girl's stay and recovery. I know I'm missing some names and I'm so sorry for that but I just wanted to say thank you so much for the hardwork and dedication of Becky(nursery nurse), Margaret (nursery nurse), Leigh (nursery nurse), Mallory(nursery nurse), Danielle (nursery nurse), Paula (nursery nurse), Madison (nursery nurse), Jamie (nursery nurse), Crystal (nursery nurse), Tracy (nursery nurse), Lindsey (nursery nurse), Julie (L&D nurse), Jessica (L&D/post partum), Meachie (post partum nurse), Sujata (post partum nurse), Skylar (L&D nurse), Katie (nursery nurse), Nikki (post partum), Christie (housekeeping), Tammy (housekeeping), Kristi (NP), Shelly (NP), Dr. Powers, Dr Knutson, and Haley (NP). I struggled with addiction and alcoholism for more than half of my life and have been to the point of no return it seemed. They really helped me to learn to control my emotions and cope with my triggers. The staff is awesome and very helpful as well as the counselors! This place is like everywhere else in the sense that if you don't want help, you're going to fail! So don't come here if you can't commit to helping yourself. This is a really good place if you are serious about wanting to recover. There is a lot of freedom In this program seeings you can leave everyday to work so I would say that this is not the best choice of program if you are coming straight off of the drugs you should pry go to a higher level of care first then here. When your on campus it is pretty structured not a lot of free time they definitely don’t just want your money as others have said they Hardily take anything that compare to the services and food and shelter they provide speaking of witch there is an amazing cook there Mike he prepares all the food which is of 5 star quality a lot of variety and always good. Staff really cares for you here they want to see you succeed really it all depends on what attitude you bring to the table that determines how sussceful and good your stay here will be. Their program is holistic and brings the whole family in and makes supporting them a team effort. They have been instrumental in getting our family the help it needs to thrive and do better. I've been going to Bridgeway and getting my mental health medication here since I was 17 (I'm 33 now!) and their staff has always made me feel welcome and at home. My current dr. April Burgess has always gone out of her way to make sure I get my medication, even fitting me into her schedule during mental health emergencies during the several times my Mom was in the hospital. I'm incredibly grateful for her, and even the front desk staff for being patient with me. I'm also happy to be able to have my appointments via telehealth as I'm not always able to visit in person. Thank you for all you do, please don't ever close!

If you have someone u know and love, and they are going thru an addiction. JourneyPure Panama City Beach is the place I would want my loved one to be. Professional staff excellent techniques to teach the client of how to deal with the addiction. It has to be there choice to do so tho u can’t make anyone do anything. So until they get sick and tired of the problems then you just have to be patient. This Professional and caring staff know how to treat the patient with dignity and respect. I’ve been on the program for 12 years, I ve had 3 awesome counselors. I stayed with one for 9 years, without her I wouldn’t have made it. She was in recovery herself, so She understood me. It is pretty bad right now, with the employee turnover rate, and organization with the Hurricane season. But with anything there is good and bad. I am sure they will get it back together soon.People need to understand that they are highly critiqued by federal laws. But as long as you do what your supposed to, you will not have any problems.

Love it. They don’t want to see you everyday, they want you to succeed and get your take homes and they make youstill feel like a human and not just a number with a $. If you have to wait more than 10-20 minutes ever from pull up to leaving lot then suck it up and shut your mouth because it’s a rare occurrence and if you have been to other clinics you know how long the wait time is almost daily 😭 just remember that on those blue moon days 😁 But truly they are phenomenal ;each nurse Dr and counselor deserve praise! Thanks To The Team!!!

I work construction out of town a lot,so I've been to a few dozen clinics from Philadelphia PA to Jacksonville FL. By far this facility is 10 times more professional,quick responses for whatever reasons. Cleanest facility, friendliest, caring staff I've dealt with. If you've ever had to guest dose before,it can be a nightmare!! Maybe you didn't have any problems,but I have with other clinics. Not this one! They'll make sure you get the best help possible. I would never go anywhere else.WARNING! If you're not serious about sobriety then you may prefer the other dumps. Still give them a call! They saved my life!! I would love to see more of your bhg facilities in the Mississippi area and maybe have a federal guideline on amount of your dosage for guest dosing because I have been places where there was no problem but I've been to several states like Tennessee and I was taking more than their maximum level and I had to wait 2 weeks for a state approval. Of course I was working and it being 6 hours from my hometown I had to go home one day a week until they got it straight. I wouldn't have waited for 2 days in the waitroom thinking everything was going to be fine if someone would have told me or like I said every state be on the same thing or ar least respect the other states that aren't at the same dosage levels. We still have problems and are paying patients for treatment and I was furious after working 2 nights without and set there from 6 until 12 and then be told come back in the morning maybe we will be heard back from them. Communication is really what needs to be done between the states and the different companies policies.
