About The Horsham Clinic

When you come in for your assessment, you should bring all the clothes you will need for a five day stay including pajamas. You will not be allowed to bring electronics to treatment.

The intake specialist that you meet with will need to know your medical history, and they will need a list of all the medications you currently take. You will be given a drug test to determine if you qualify for inpatient treatment or if you should attend a partial hospitalization program (PHP). The PHP lets you go in for treatment during the day and go home at night.

If you need to detox, they have an around the clock medical staff that will monitor you constantly. They can prescribe medication if you need it to detox safely and comfortably.

People with dual diagnosis are often treated with dialectical behavior therapy which trains people to accept their reality and to change their attitude towards it. They also use experimental and recreational therapy. You may also engage in art or dance therapy while you are there. They also offer family therapy for people whose loved ones have been affected by their addiction. They even host some 12 Step meetings.

Rude staff and very short tempered yet they are there to support people and help them? Tried talking to my wife, who was forced to go here by being 302 or forcing her to sign a 201. Either way they want her for tax dollars not to help. I will be filing a complaint with the civil rights department. Start hiring people that actually care about helping others with mental health then a paycheck. Also whoever is at the front desk at 6:30pm today thrusday 4th is extremely rude. All we wanted to do was talk to my wife which she was stripped away from us and especially my son who is on the spectrum and 2 years old. I was trying to ask her a question and she hanged up on me. Very concerning for my wife’s care here if this was the first interaction. Please keep God first and find another outlet then this establishment.

I am grateful for the doctors, nurses and staff at Horsham Clinic. I was in there for 11 days and was able to get to a point of stabilization. I would say the only negatives are the lights being on all night had a hard time sleeping and not going outdoors enough. But overall it was what I needed to get me to a better place. They also put a lot of effort into your after care.

Hi I’m going give a full real raw review on this place. Truthfully if I could give 0 stars I would but I can’t. My autistic brother had within the past year become very aggressive and he hurt my sister and I so we did what we thought would have been best for him to get help.. it was an awful experience. The staff is rude and disrespectful. Nobody helped my brother all they did was put his health at risk by letting him eat whatever he wanted for months and he gained almost 100 pounds since going in in December. The staff got tired of my brother and lied to facility’s they wanted him out so they hid the truth about him and now because of that action my brother’s not getting the proper help he needed. Everyone in this work line uses people who need true help for money it’s all about greed with these people. I’m so disappointed my parents never cared about my brother the way my sister and I do we knew nothing about autism and we asked for help and got none. He came out worse then when he went in. It’s so disappointing to me to know that we can’t get true help for our brother. Nobody diagnosed him with what he has that runs in our family nobody wanted to take him off meds to get the real raw him to see what meds he should have been put on nobody cared enough. My sister and I have lost my brother he’s no longer the guy we used to know all thanks to failed systems and wrong people in these job titles.. don’t get into a job if you can’t do what your supposed to for disabled people who need help and can’t explain or do things for themselves. It’s super selfish to not give proper care to these disabled people who need help. You had one job and you couldn’t do it such a sad world. And when you know your brother or family member that’s in this place and you explain to them who he truly is and they go and assume they know him off of 2 weeks and they really don’t know anything.. they don’t listen to the family..

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

With a partial hospitalization program (PHP), you can participate in intensive rehabilitation treatment with the ability to return home at the end of the day. For a weekly minimum of 20 hours, a partial hospitalization program can take place up to 5 days a week for an average of 90 days. During PHP treatment, you can receive relapse prevention strategies, medication management, individual and group therapy, and other behavioral therapy interventions.

Because the severity of withdrawal symptoms can fluctuate, constant monitoring under 24-hour clinical care in Pennsylvania is recommended for early recovery. As you undergo detox, medical staff will supervise your health and ensure severe symptoms do not develop or threaten your life. Professional counselors will also be available to treat mental and emotional health needs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Pennsylvania is devoted to the treatment of addiction. Levels of care, treatment methods, and settings differ, but the aim of each program is to end drug dependency and empower participants to achieve long-term recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) is a way of getting nicotine into the bloodstream without smoking. It uses products that supply low doses of nicotine to help people stop smoking. The goal of therapy is to cut down on cravings for nicotine and ease the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

2 star review bc 1 stars can be deleted. I was physically abused here by a staff member in the adolescent unit in 1998. He said I disrespected him, so he made me lay down on the bed in the seclusion room and bent my ankles until my toes touch by back. Then put all his weight on my feet for extra leverage. I was then tied down to the seclusion room bed and deprived of food, water and bathroom for 2 days. I was 12. I was non violent. There was no reason for this treatment. But they had good peach pie. Actually the food was pretty good. But this wasn't an isolated incident. Of course I tried to call my parents and tell them what happened. But the staff were proactive and called them ahead of time to tell them I was manipulating my program and I would try to manipulate them too. You know, the typical line of bs these places feed parents to protect themselves. When I made the call, the second they heard me talking about the abuse, my call was cut off. That's how it worked back then. And no this isn't about money, statute of limitations expired a long time ago. I'm just trying to help get my story out there bc it wasn't the only facility I was abused in and I'm ready to start talking about it. Research programs before sending your loved ones into "the troubled teen industry" or MHMR facilities. Make sure there are no allegations or open cases for abuse. Which Horsham Clinic is currently involved in Sexual Assualt lawsuits. Google can be your best friend in this kind of research.

was here for like 6 days it was an absolute nightmare!! the first day I got there it was at like 10 pm and several kids were being detained for making shanks out of markers and trying to stab people (I was in there for suicidal ideation, I am harmless lol) I was 13 and roomed with 2 twelve year olds in a cramped room, one in there for allegedly stabbing her own father!! I had a bad phone call and was crying and instead of being helped I was tackled by like 4 six foot men and pinned to the floor to the point of me having bruises all over my arms and the nurses tried to blame it on me “hitting the wall” (there were fingerprints) as an extremely depressed 5 foot 100 lb 13 year old girl! I can very very safely say this place made me so much worse and gave me more trauma than I arrived with literally go anywhere but here the only positive thing I can say is that the food is pretty good
