They were right about it being the best. I was housed with mostly my gender (female). Had group therapy around 6 times a day and have a week or more turn around rate. Day time is 8am-10pm. I enjoyed the art classes most due to creative freedom. Despite it being very chilly, the bedding was pretty comfortable. Food was on hospital level, gluten free choices and various options. I thought it was delicious! Our unit gave us snacks and that was a highlight. Family visits are twice a week. I was on medication management and got put on new meds, though were denied my vitamins till a week in. Twice or three times a day if lucky we were allowed outside in the sun or to sit on a bench. The showers have proper temperature and they allow toiletries as long as theres no alcohol. We were allowed phone calls after group. Their communication with family could use great improvement. And if you plan on going bring ALOT to do, gets boring. I’d like to shout out my favorite staff members. Jackie, Darell “Troy”, Michael. The staff were compassionate, respectful, patient, and truly listened to my concerns. They made me feel supported and treated me with dignity during a difficult time. I appreciate the care, understanding, and professionalism shown by everyone involved. I would definitely recommend their behavioral healthcare services to anyone who needs support. I started out here on methadone, then left and came back on suboxine and now go there for the brixadi shot. All of the staff are so nice, easy to talk to and supportive. My counselor Jackie is the by far the best councelor I’ve ever sat down with in all my years in and out of addiction. She truly cares, and will go above and beyond to help you with anything you need. All the nurses are so great and easy to talk to. I highly recommend somerdale treatment center to anyone battling addiction and trying to work their way toward recovery. They provide a therapeutic environment that allows clients the opportunity to heal and grow. They feed you well, the coffee is real and usually strong (though limited to meal times,) the gym is better than most. There are ample smoke breaks and there are decent amenities. It's not the Ritz, but it's not supposed to be. They're definitely understaffed, but the team they currently have is full of dedicated and compassionate people which made all the difference in my stay and helped my find direction and hope. Since then I had to transfer because I moved and I thought that I would write another review to let people know that for 3 years the staff faithfully stayed true to their teachings and never once judged me or made me feel like a low piece of s@%! even when I relapsed. I never had to lie who I was and cheat my way thru the program to stay in the program. After being a client at Northeast Family Healthcare in Quakertown for 3 years, I can honestly say this clinic has been life-changing for me. Having to transfer due to my move to another County was one of the hardest parts about relocating. What sets Northeast Family Healthcare apart is their incredible staff. Every person I encountered there treated me with dignity, respect, and genuine care. In recovery settings, being treated like a human being rather than just another case makes all the difference. i do want to base this review on my therapist. I cannot emphasize enough how instrumental Anna was in my recovery journey. In my 20+ years in various treatment programs (since 1999), I've NEVER connected with a therapist the way I did with Anna from day one. For all three years, she was my rock and a consistent source of support. What made Anna exceptional was her genuine approach to therapy. She truly listened - not just nodded along, but actually remembered details from our previous sessions. During my struggles and occasional relapses, she never once responded with anger, criticism, or disappointment. Instead, she helped me explore what happened, develop better coping strategies, and work through my underlying traumas. Anna's sincerity and passion for helping others is evident in everything she does. She clearly loves her job, and that authentic care makes all the difference for clients like me. I can confidently say that without her guidance, I wouldn't be clean today. Anna, I am going to miss you so much. You clearly were a gift from God.
