The wait can be 3+ hours at times. I have had two bad experiences here. I first had an ovarian cyst and needed to get a cat scan and an ultrasound. I drank all of the contrast and then had to wait another hour before the scan because there was a delay. I literally cried during the ultrasound from pain, which up until then I had never experienced before. The next bad experience I had I went and had to get an iv in. It was sitting on my skin and I only found out it was actually blown when the nurse put in medicine and I felt like there was fire spreading in my arm and the side of my face. Then I was told I could only get it removed after the doctor said I was okay. Overall, just go to urgent care if you can.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Programs

young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Men and women receive emotional support from their peers during group therapy sessions. These are typically people who face the same struggles that you do. This exposure fosters a sense of camaraderie and community while reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness that often accompany addiction.

Even though I had to wait, I received excellent care when I went to the ER. The doctors and the staff were wonderful, very caring and professional. I also liked how clean the place was. Thank you all for your service and dedication, I'm better now.

The charge nurse is horrible. Had a grandma in pain (later discovered as aortic aneurysm) sitting there in pain while they assisted some crackhead begging for drugs immediately. Get that rude charge nurse fired and take her degree and any certificate

This hospital is a nightmare to work with. I been trying to get help from the medical records department for weeks now regarding a time pressing matter and keep getting the run around. They keep calling me and forwarding me to medical records speaking with the employee John who not only has not been helpful but hung up on me twice. After getting off the phone, then receive an email to call the medical records office only to get ahold of someone else who still has no clue regarding the request for records that I have sent over THREE times. I left several messages for the supervisor to call back but it apparently takes weeks to get back. I still have not heard back from her. If I could give a negative review it would be a -5.

My family member experience at Huntington Hospital was disturbing and unacceptable. The staff on the 5th floor—including some nurses and doctors—were rude, dismissive, and showed zero empathy. The energy was cold, condescending, and at times blatantly unkind. I strongly urge the hospital to investigate the behavior and attitudes of its 5th-floor staff and they did not follow the orders for the patient.Ignoring this kind of conduct puts vulnerable patients at risk, both physically and emotionally.

The nursing staff here are top notch ! From the nurses, to the respiratory staff, to the assistants, to the cleaning crew - excellent. The food for the patients and in the cafeteria is the best institutional food the I have ever experienced ! Really.

I will keep the details short and sweet. I had an emergency situation with my wife and the entire experience during my 2 day stay was great. The entire staff whether it was nurses, doctors or even the janitor staff, everyone at this facility was a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended as I feel like everyone on staff has the patient's interest as a priority.

I think it's a disgrace that Huntington Hospital didn't fly their American flag at half mast for the recent passing of the Pope. I contacted someone last evening to let them know, and i contacted then today. nothing was done as of 3pm today....guess they don't care

Extensive back surgery. My surgeon was excellent and the hospital and its staff were wonderful. Stayed overnight and had constant supervision from the nursing staff and the resident orthopedic and spine surgeons after the surgery. Would definitely recommend.
