We are truly grateful to the amazing doctors, nurses, and staff at Huntington Hospital. 💙 Thanks to your care and support, my wife was able to go through labor safely, and both mom and baby were looked after with so much kindness and attention. The way you treated us with patience, compassion, and encouragement made all the difference during such an important moment in our lives. We also really appreciate the hospital’s modern facilities and equipment, which gave us peace of mind and made the whole experience so much more comfortable. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for being there for us and helping us welcome our little one into the world. 🍼👶 With love and gratitude, [Your Family] 💕

Worst hospital ever. My sister had a major operation and was in severe pain however the hospital could not wait to get her out even though in New York it is against law to send home someone who does not feel well enough to be sent home after procedure. If you have another choice of hospitals do not choose Huntington Hospital.

Accepted Insurance

Huntington Hospital works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs offer an intermediate level of care for clients who do not require the kind of intensive supervision and support an inpatient program typically provides. Many clients transition into outpatient care immediately after exiting inpatient treatment. Others enter outpatient programs upon completing detox. Some facilities offer ambulatory medical detox for clients who do not require hospitalization. Most outpatient rehabs offer a combination of services, including addiction counseling, life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

The partial hospitalization program (PHP) level of care offers short-term, intensive rehab for individuals with acute symptoms that require focused management but don't require 24/7 care. PHP treatment provides structured programming (i.e. individual and group therapy) and allows you to return home in the evening. PHP treatment typically meets weekly for a minimum of 20 hours with the duration typically averaging 90 days. While PHP treatment cost can vary, it is often covered by most providers.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Clients who enroll in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) are typically either in early recovery or are experiencing a crisis that increases their relapse risk. These programs promote clients' sustained sobriety through robust support, including multiple, extended care sessions per week. Intensive outpatient treatment often encompasses an array of services, including psychotherapy, recovery education, and evidence-based holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and meditation. Many outpatient rehabs also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Alcohol rehab in New York can help individuals overcome alcoholism. This alcohol addiction is characterized by drinking alcohol compulsively, being unable to control how much you drink, and feeling anxious or stressed when you're not drinking. Treatment for alcohol addiction may involve brief intervention, an outpatient program, or inpatient alcohol rehab in New York. The main goal of treatment is to stop alcohol use to improve quality of life.

When you choose drug rehab in New York, you'll participate in a variety of treatments that are designed to help you live a drug-free lifestyle. Common methods of treatment include group, individual, and family counseling, medication management, nutrition, exercise, and management of co-occurring mental health disorders.

Programs

young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
teen-program thumbnail image

Teen Program

Teen programs are designed to address the unique pressures teens face, pressures that can drive them to experiment with dangerous, addictive substances. They need programs that meet them exactly where they are and give them tools for long-term recovery. Therapy can help teenagers understand and work through underlying issues so they can reclaim the life ahead of them.

Clinical Services

Men and women receive emotional support from their peers during group therapy sessions. These are typically people who face the same struggles that you do. This exposure fosters a sense of camaraderie and community while reducing feelings of isolation and loneliness that often accompany addiction.

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in New York is a short term therapeutic method used to treat substance use and mental health disorders. CBT typically lasts from five to 20 sessions, based on the individual's needs.

During dialectical behavior therapy in New York, you and your therapist will look for triggers and patterns that are guiding your emotions. This involves keeping a diary of your emotions and situations and sharing this each week with the therapist. This information will determine what you work on in each session.

If I could get better zero, that’s what I would give it. I was in the ER from the fifth to the sixth this month. My pain level was a 10 out of 10 they told me that was not an emergency and they can just send me home with pain medication The G.I. Doctor was rude and told me that getting an endoscopy is an elective procedure not urgent. They did not check my vitals for the first several hours that I was there. I also when they did check my vitals my blood pressure was severely low. The nurse kept taking my blood pressure to make sure it went up. And didn’t report it. Long story short, my G.I. doctor took me the next day and it turns out that it wasn’t an emergency that I have a hernia and a bleeding ulcer. They also confirmed that this is an emergency procedure. I was vomiting and pooping blood I felt like knives were going into my size The other thing they didn’t do was take my weight to see how much weight I’ve lost within a week I was down to 87 pounds Which was 15 pounds less than the week before. I will prepare pursuing charges against This hospital. As this should’ve been taken care of within 24 hours that I was there and they would have known. They failed to check to see if I had any hernias. Twisted hernia to be example. And I did need to get admitted to another hospital obtain a procedure. The bedside manners of the nurses and the doctors were horrific. They do not understand how to interact with someone in severe pain Instead, they used my anxiety, causing it in their notes. But it wasn’t my anxiety at all. It was pure pain And poor medical healthcare system at Huntington Hospital. Ira highly recommend to stay away from this hospital, especially if you have an urgent matter As I would never want any of these doctors doing any procedures on me that I saw. Nor did they take me seriously from once I was there Until I left. They wrote falsified documents in my follow my health app to cover their butt that isn’t even true. I only switched my nurse once because she Very rude wouldn’t answer any questions I said what she was doing didn’t say what it was. I think I have every right as a patient to tell her to leave and And request a new nurse. The doctor in the ER wanted to release asap on the overnight without any more tests.

This hospital is the worst when it comes to family matters and verification for your job. If you have a family member at this hospital and need to ask your job for time off, they don’t give a damn. They will not help you. Right now I am needed by my family as my Grandson was born there yesterday. All I needed was a letterhead note from the hospital and my job which is a city job, would have excused me from work today if the hospital would just write a letter for me.. but they refused to do so. They instead want to tell me what if supposed to be sufficient by offering me a birth certificate. When I’m telling them what my job requires which I have no power to change. They require a letterhead letter from the hospital. That’s all.. As a result, my wife is stranded in her travels from work, because my son would have normally have picked her up. She cannot babysit my son’s other children because she cannot get home. Which is currently keeping another daughter from getting to her job right now. She may now have to fight for her job because she may be considered awol by her job because she cannot leave the children she has been left with. A letter from the hospital would have prevented all of this.. This very same hospital refuses to stamp my doctors notes when I call out from work due to injury or sickness which is why I no longer go to them when I get sick, and need to be excused from work. They still will take my deductible, and payment from my jobs coverage, but refuses to provide a signature or doctors stamp to cover me at my job on my doctors notes. I’m telling you, that couldn’t care less about family or our jobs. But they want to be paid! My brother once got injured and I took off from work and that hospital gave a letterhead note and I was excused from work. But that is too much to ask of Huntington Hospital. These people are the worst.. Signed.. dude who had to report for work because the hospital; not the job! Wouldn’t give ma a letter.
