I stayed here for a week and decided it wasn't for me. As soon as they found out that I was going to be leaving, their entire attitude changed. They were as absolutely rude as a person could possible be to another person. When I first checked in, they had me park my vehicle at a medclinic a few miles away and sent an uber for me. Now that I was leaving, not only did they refuse to help me get back to my vehicle and just put me out with all of my belongings in the middle of the day in the middle of summer in a city that I'm not from amd where I dont know anyone, but they also told me that they were going to call the police for a "well person check" because they knew that I had some legal issues that I was dealing with. And you might be thinking that there's more to it, that certainly I must have been causing a disturbance or doing something that would make them feel like calling the police, but, alas, they did it for no other reason than the fact that I was checking out of their program. Nothing more. Absolutely unbelievable behavior from people who claim to care about people. As soon as they realized that they wouldn't be getting my insurance money any longer, they treated me worse than you would treat a total stranger. What does that tell you about the content of their character?

Infinite Recovery truly saved my marriage, life, and happiness. I attended the 8 week, Intensive Outpatient Program with Serenity, and it was truly one of the best experiences of my life! The way she tailored her approach to each client, and met each of us where we were at in our stages of recovery, was patient and caring. Serenity’s style is compassionate yet accountable, and for me, she helped me realize just how much I was lying to myself to keep using while it was keeping me on a path of self destruction. I enjoyed the way the program work correlated to real world examples, and connected to what was happening in our daily lives through open discussion. I felt legitimately challenged to be vulnerable as a way to face the deeper issues that led me here, and totally comfortable while doing so. I didn’t think I needed rehab, but after attending the 8 week program, I wish I had come sooner! I see things so much differently through a sober lens, and I don’t know if I could have done that without Serenity’s leadership, compassion, and guidance. I was truly sad to leave on my last day, but I know I have been equipped with the skills, strength, and confidence I need to walk my path the way my higher power intended. Thank you Serenity and Infinite, you truly saved another one!

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient

Inpatient rehab programs are geared toward clients in early recovery. They also provide intensive support for clients in crisis and those at an increased relapse risk. Clients receive housing and meals while in inpatient care, allowing them to focus solely on their recovery. Most programs prioritize addiction counseling but may draw on various psychotherapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, RBT, trauma therapy, and motivational interviewing. Life skills training and holistic therapies are also common in inpatient care.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Ridding the body of harmful, addictive substances, also known as detoxification, is usually the first phase of recovery. Those going through medically assisted detox can be administered medications by a team of medical professionals who are on-site 24/7 to provide different types of therapies that help mitigate withdrawal symptoms.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

Commonly known as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers intensive addiction treatment while allowing you to return home each day. It can serve as an alternative to inpatient hospitalization or as a step-down option. Depending on your needs, PHP treatment typically averages 90 days with a weekly requirement of 6-8 hours a day. PHP treatment offers a variety of therapeutic interventions such as individual counseling, group therapy, and psychoeducation. Oftentimes PHP treatment can be fully covered by insurance.

Treatments

Alcoholism occurs when a person becomes physically and psychologically dependent on alcohol. Attending a professional alcohol rehab in Texas can provide customized intervention methods to address the physical, mental, and relational challenges of addiction.

During rehab in Texas, you'll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you'll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Texas's specialized dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs prioritize comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. These programs offer diverse levels of care, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization options. Evidence-based therapies, trauma-informed care, group work, and educational workshops help treat both conditions at the same time and give you the tools to sustain mental health and sobriety.

With a co-occurring drug or alcohol addiction and a mental health disorder, you'll want to seek out a dual diagnosis treatment center. These specialized rehabs offer services to address both conditions at the same time, including 24/7 access to medical and mental health professionals. By treating both disorders at the same time, it drastically increases your chances of successful long-term recovery.

mental-health iconMental Health And Substance Abuse
opium iconOpioid Addiction

Substance abuse treatment is available in Texas for anyone who's struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. These programs usually provide a comprehensive assessment and individualized treatment plan, and include evidence-based treatments, like therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to reframe unhelpful coping strategies, and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to help with emotional regulation and stress.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

The goal of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in Texas is to change thought patterns, which leads to changes in behavior. Specific techniques during CBT can include self talk, SMART goals, journaling, and positive activities.

Treatment that takes a dialectical behavior therapy approach focuses on four strategies. Distress tolerance will help you accept and tolerate intense emotions. Emotional regulation will teach you to manage those emotions. Mindfulness will keep you in the present moment instead of regret or worry. Interpersonal effectiveness will teach you to manage your relationships.

The purpose of family therapy is to create a supportive and understanding family dynamic within the family unit. Therapists help individual members to identify and change harmful behavior patterns and improve communication. This provides a stable foundation for the family and their loved one's recovery.

Peer support is an important aspect of group therapy sessions for drug and alcohol addiction. As you and your peers share stories and encourage each other, it fosters a sense of community and belonging that helps you process your feelings and reduces the sense of isolation that is associated with addiction.

Individual therapy offers you a confidential space to address the complexities of your drug or alcohol addiction. Your therapist guides these personalized sessions to help develop self awareness and manage stress. This promotes sustained sobriety and overall well being.

Therapy sessions that incorporate motivational interviewing focus on OARS: open questions, affirmation, reflections, and summarizing. This facilitates an exchange of information and an empowering of the client to decide for themselves what changes might need to be made in their lives.

🚨 WARNING — Do NOT send your loved one to The Thistle House 🚨 As a sponsor who has walked through the 12 steps myself — and as a real man of God — I can say confidently: this is not a safe or supportive environment for recovery. The managers here are the most controlling, entitled individuals I’ve ever encountered in the sober living world. Multiple residents have shared horror stories — stories I’ve personally verified. This includes: • Refusing residents access to their own belongings — even days after they’ve left • Threatening to donate personal items without consent • No support with transportation to meetings or work, despite promising otherwise • A highly stressful and erratic environment that could easily push someone back into relapse • Unprofessional and disturbing behavior, including urinating on the back porch and swimming nude in the backyard This is supposed to be an all-women’s sober living home, yet a biological male dressed as a woman is managing the house, making many residents feel unsafe and uncomfortable. Even worse: these managers are ex-addicts themselves, and they are supposed to be living on the property — yet they disappear for 9 days at a time. What does that tell you? I’ve had them tell me they would meet me at the house to retrieve a resident’s belongings, and then not show up — while their car sat right out front. That’s not accountability. That’s deception. To be specific: this is The Thistle House where women are placed after detox. One resident recently came out and confirmed everything I’ve encountered. She said she feels completely trapped in a house run by control freaks who don’t care about her recovery. It’s all about power and control — not healing. This place is leeching the system and power-tripping, plain and simple. Ask any of the former residents. They all say the same thing: this place is chaotic, unsafe, and mismanaged. This is not recovery. It is not God-centered. It is not a home. If you truly care about your loved one’s healing — look elsewhere. The Thistle House needs new management immediately. Who’s drug testing the management? Who allowed a biological male to run an all female sober living home? And who is checking in on the patients in this home? Because I’ve talked to them and they all have a lot to say. And not good…

Response from the owner
Quinn, we appreciate your feedback and take your concerns seriously. We encourage you to contact us directly to discuss your experience further, as we are committed to providing a supportive environment for all residents.
