About Mathers Recovery – Elgin

Elgin Methadone Clinic is a branch of Mathers Recovery in Elgin, Illinois, and is federally licensed to treat opiate dependence. They do not provide services for general addiction but rather specialize in outpatient services for opiate dependence.

How Insurance Works with a Methadone Clinic

The clinic will file a claim with the patient’s insurance company. They advise some insurances may require a referral from the patient’s primary care provider. Most insurances only cover select services. The clinic suggests a patient check with their insurance company to determine coverages and the required process to follow.

Primary Services for Opiate Addiction

Services provided by this facility include outpatient detoxification, medication assisted treatments, and methadone maintenance. These services are offered to all adults including pregnant women and senior clients. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Treatments offered by the clinic are methadone maintenance treatment, Buprenorphine (Suboxone) maintenance program, Vivitrol (opiate blocker) treatment program, and psycho-social rehabilitation. The clinic asserts they will provide treatment for withdrawals in less than three hours. Medication types and doses are based on individual needs.

Mental Health Services for Addiction

Counseling is incorporated with a patient’s treatment. All services are outpatient including medication treatments, consultations with an addictionologist, and comprehensive rehabilitation services.

The clinic boasts of long-term results using evidence based clinical practices, client centered education, research, and peer support.

After successful treatment the clinic will help clients connect with resources to maintain sobriety, improve mental health, promote community integration, build psychological resilience, and find peer support. Mathers Recovery oversees a second clinic, Fox Lake Methadone Clinic.

Positive Feedback for Treatment in Elgin

With a 4.8 rating, clients have said the staff don’t just listen, they really hear the clients. The clinic works well with clients who have disabilities and has been called a lifesaver during pregnancies.

The nearest transit stop is a six-minute walk. Also nearby is Lords Park which offers nature trails, paved trails, picnic areas, a museum, and a zoo. For patients looking for a spot of tranquility, the Walton Island Park is located on the Fox River, connected to the mainland by bridges. Here a client can find walking paths, fishing spots, and a pavilion.

Without Mathers team support, I never would have been able to get off opiates and no longer live in a state like an emotional zombie, trapped deadness. If you want to straighten up, go see them no judgement just help

Mathers Clinic is a totally necessary entity in my life. The therapy that I receive helps me navigate my issues successfully. I need the therapy to conquer depression, anxiety, fears, family issues, hopelessness, and sleeplessness. I am learning new ways to approach situations, I m learning self awareness and calming techniques. I m learning how to strategize before things escalate to full bloom. My therapist Steven Wilcox is also very resourceful with tools that I need daily in outside services. Dr. Christina Kassenbrock is a very caring and knowledgeable asset to Mathers Clinic. Any medication that she prescribes is carefully monitored. She doesn t just listens, she hears me. I trust her judgement and her ability to help my family. She s been exponential in helping with paperwork needed by DHS, Schools, and Elgin Family Services. Dr. Kassenbrock does things correctly and in a timely fashion. I highly recommend Mathers Clinic, Therapist Steven Wilcox and Dr. Christina Kassenbrock.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
When participating in an inpatient rehab program, you'll reside at the treatment center for the duration of the program. Your housing and meals are provided, allowing you to focus on your recovery without outside triggers, stressors, and other distractions. You'll receive daily addiction counseling, drawing on various psychotherapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing. Many inpatient drug rehabs also offer complementary holistic therapies, such as yoga, meditation, or animal therapy, and creative arts therapy.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Illinois is designed to help people recover from addiction to a number of substances. The length of each program and its intensity tend to vary, and the plan of care is based on your individual needs.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy provides you with a safe and supportive environment so you can address a traumatic experience. Your therapist helps guide you to understand your emotional, mental, and physical responses while developing healthier coping skills. This helps to improve your emotional resilience and ability to function in the community.

The use of nicotine replacement therapy in Illinois supplies your body with a small, controlled dose of nicotine without exposing it to the other harmful chemicals in cigarettes. This dose reduces withdrawal and satisfies cravings, so you can wean yourself off nicotine use.

Good morning, My name is Nicole. I’m a patient at Mathers Clinic for quite sometime. What I look for in a clinic is the nursing knowledge, and the therapy. We do have counseling. I feel this clinic is a step above most. We have an awesome nursing staff and doctors. We have an exceptional doctor and her name is Lauren. We also have a great psychologist and her name is Kirsten. She’s just wonderful.. We do have meetings on Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays and I believe Saturday mornings to attend a meeting and it’s early in the morning so people can get there before work. It starts at 5 AM. If you have to be on Methadone, this is where you should go. I needed the Mmt because nothing else helped me. I am proud of me and my clinic.
