If you have free mental health. Pharmacy. Blood draws. Homeless prevention or any type of service like they offer. Why is yalls scores so low... I know why. People are inpatient. They want it now. But it's free. You are going to have to wait like everyone else. You obviously have never been to parkland emergency room. My arm was broke in half and it took them 8 hours to see me. Please be happy with what you have available to you. Metrocare does care.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

They were pretty nice about letting me join. The medicine team was always so helpful and doing their part. When I wanted to have a counseling session; they were open for helping. Only problem that I struck with so often was, some of the real underlining reasons for why I needed there help to begin with. My adolescents wouldn't let it show. I am still returning and hope this will get some answers.

Ok. So, once again these people have shown their lack of attention. Jimmy Garcia reached out to me about housing and other assistance they could offer, and I do need help with housing due to having stage 4 cancer that mimics mental health disorders. So, I set an appointment with Mr. Garcia in person because for some reason I couldn't have a video visit. So I had to miss work. I sat in the front area for over an hour before they told him I was there for the appointment. When I did finally speak to Mr. Garcia, I was informed it was due to my financial data not being updated. I was then told I had to see one of their doctors, also in person, so I could have my diagnosis updated. I told him that I had an outside doctor that had rediagnosed me. I explained to him that I was previously misdiagnosed by Metrocare and wasn't in need of their mental health services. I was then informed that at this point, due to the discussion of my cancer, that it didn't matter what the diagnosis was, I just needed one on paper. I found the paper work from my new doctor and was told that it was insufficient and I needed to see one of their doctors. I was forced into yet another false diagnosis by Metrocare. Or I assume so, because it's been 11 days now, and after 2 emails to Mr. Garcia, I still haven't gotten a response. And they've submitted claims against my insurance for treatments I never asked for, but was told I needed in order to continue forward with any assistance I may be eligible for. Being as that they need numbers for the government funding they receive, I have to wonder if any of this was even legal. They forced me to see their medical teams in order to qualify for any assistance they offer. I didn't ask for medical treatment and flat out refused it. And still they have charged me for seeing a nurse practitioner. I didn't ask for that. I supplied the information that they asked for, but was told they had to diagnose me. Even after I told them they Misdiagnosed me from the very start. Is this really an upstanding place to go for help? The offer housing assistance. That's what I applied for. Now they're ignoring me, and trying to charge my insurance for shit I didn't ask for. Run. Run fast from this place. Only go here if you have no other options.

We had one of the worst healthcare experiences our family has ever had, and honestly it was deeply disappointing to see how little compassion, professionalism, and basic human respect was shown toward our 12-year-old son. Our son has ADHD, and from the beginning we felt like the main goal was simply to prescribe medication—nothing more. There was no genuine personal interest, no deeper evaluation, no discussion about alternative treatment options, behavioral support, or long-term solutions. It felt like: prescribe pills, schedule the next visit, repeat. Appointments were often scheduled without even asking what worked for our family. After we missed one appointment, we were told we could come as walk-ins. My wife and son spent two separate days waiting 3–4 hours each day, only to never be seen by a provider. Even when we did have an appointment, we were required to physically come to the office, only to speak with the doctor through video conference. If the provider is not physically there, why force families—especially children with special needs—to sit in an office for hours? What finally convinced us never to return was when we explained that our son was completely out of medication, that he had taken his last pill, and that suddenly interrupting treatment could be unsafe. They showed absolutely no urgency, no concern, and offered zero solutions for how we could obtain a prescription to avoid interruption of treatment. To make things even worse, the receptionist was rude and unprofessional. If English is not your first language and you do not speak fluently, you may feel judged or even laughed at instead of helped. That is completely unacceptable—especially in healthcare. Every time I deal with this place, I leave feeling bad not only for my family, but for every other person who may be receiving the same treatment. In my opinion, the front desk staff should not be working with people—especially not with children and families dealing with special needs. We felt treated like a billing number, not like a family seeking help for our child. We will never return to this Metrocare office, and we cannot recommend this location based on our experience.
