Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I enjoy the care I received and value in having a place, somewhere to go to talk to someone. It has been a huge benefit to me and it's been nearly 2 months of feeling human again. Special thanks and farewell to Dr. Martin who is leaving this facility. She will be missed.

My provider, Daniella Losey, and the staff at CODAC saved my life. When I showed up at CODAC 380 a few years ago, I had just been released from the hospital after a week for severe withdrawal related to an addiction. I was mentally and physically ill, depressed, discouraged, and lost. Even struggling with suicidal ideation at times. Today, thanks to Daniella and the caring staff at CODAC, I feel like I'm back to the person I used to love. I'm free of my addiction. I'm mentally and physically more resilient, and I'm working to return to my career as an RN. I'm finally optimistic and hopeful about the future. Daniella has been an absolute blessing from God, and I'm so thankful for everyone at CODAC. Please don't give up, whatever your struggles. Let these amazing people help you. They really do care, they take the time, and they want you to succeed. Thank you, Daniella and CODAC so very much. Edit: I wanted to add a bit to my review. The folks at CODAC really are the most responsive healthcare providers I've ever used. A couple weeks ago, I had a change made to my treatment regimen. I called CODAC because I had some concerns and questions. Right away, I was connected to a medical assistant. No waiting and no need to make an appointment. The MA, Becky, answered my questions and gave me some helpful advice. I appreciated the immediate response to my concerns. After hanging up, I figured that was it, and I'd see my provider in a couple weeks. However, after speaking to me, Becky notified my provider of what was going on, and they were able to provide some additional help with the issues I was having. I didn't expect that. These people take your care seriously. They won't leave you hanging if you're having problems, and they actually call you back and follow-up. If you haven't been around the healthcare system much, you probably don't realize how rare and wonderful that is. Anyways, just wanted to give my props to Becky and the rest of the staff at CODAC. These guys are the best!

I am writing this review today because I am lucky to have a VERY caring and proactive team caring for me here at CODAC. Adam Case is my psych provider, and he is simply amazing! I really detest having to attend appointments, in general, but I actually look forward to my appointments with Adam. Adam is not judgmental, he is a careful listener and is always game for helping me make adjustments to my meds, as needed. Adam has a great sense of humor and NEVER rushes me through appointments. Adam is always encouraging, but he hears the unspoken things and follows up with me more often when he “hears” things that may raise concerns. I greatly appreciate the fact that Adam is a very genuine person, who truly cares! My recovery coach’s name is Sonya Castro. Sonya is also an amazing human! Sonya is always prompt, never leaving me to wait. Sonya truly cares and always surprises me with options that I never knew were a part of her job. I actually don’t think certain things are even a part of her job, I believe she is just ready to go above and beyond her job description, to help me with things. I am going through a very scary and dark chapter of my life right now, and Sonya is a light in the darkness. I feel safe and cared for. I am SO very grateful for Sonya. I feel like my load has been lightened, because Sonya has offered to carry it for me, allowing me time to breathe. Of course, there are many others at CODAC that deserve recognition as well. Another person that has proven he cares is Joe. I don’t know his last name but he is always a smiling face and treats everyone with kindness, including my 11 yr old dog, Mr Ike. He refers to himself as uncle Joe. When needed he is always willing to hold onto him for me. My dog loves him and we all know dogs are the BEST judges of character. My hat is off to the entire staff of CODAC at 380! Keep up the great work! You all are a blessing in our lives! Thank you from the very bottom of my heart! Sincerely, Wendy Kaplan
