The clinical support, oversight, comprehensive treatment protocols and mental health support are top tier. Erin & Adam on the clinical outreach team are fantastic ambassadors to their programs! Sierra Tucson is a behavioral healthcare facility in Tucson, Arizona. They provide mental health and substance abuse treatment. Their campus is located on 160 acres of land, providing clients with various mountain and desert views. The facility has been in operation for over 40 years. I entered this facility voluntarily due to anxiety and depression which I now know is due to cptsd, although they did not diagnose this here. This is not a place for trauma survivors, they will traumatize you. I disclosed wanting to leave privately to my therapist, later a security guard confronted me about this. A serious violation of privacy. I felt unsafe and eventually got out by protesting to other patients and family. No surprise that patients are driven to suicide here. They behave like a cult. This was 5 years ago. I completed treatment at a kinder facility.

Visited the much talked about Sierra Tucson last week and was not disappointed! The people who are fortunate enough to seek treatment there are sure to have their lives changed for the better forever! It offers a serene breathtaking campus with the best mental healthcare options offered and a wonderful devoted staff to help clients complete their treatment journey. I now understand why Sierra Tucson has remained at the top of the list for best residential recovery facilities and still going strong after 43 years. 🥰

I've worked in the field of Mental Health and Addiction for 25 years. I've had multiple family members in treatment across different levels of care. Went yesterday to visit someone for they're birthday. Visiting day is Sunday only. But since work prevents Sunday being available for us. And then the fact that it's a 4 hour drive each way. The staff made an exception. We were permitted to bring a cake. Which everyone, staff included had a serving. And gift's were given. I was pulled off to the side to discuss the situation with respect to the rest involved. Staff is helpful and friendly. And most of them seem to genuinely care about the clients. This place is fantastic and top notch for those that want the treatment and help. The food is good for a hospital type facility and will adjust to one’s diet requests. The place is clean with decent beds to sleep on. The staff is all great and can relate to recovery. I did the detox and 30 day residential and of course with any 30 day stay there’s good days and bad with food, rules, and organization from the staff, but overall they try hard and it met my expectations for having to be in treatment. They have arcade games, pool table, and air hockey and other things for entertainment when not in groups. The only complaint or suggestion, that I also told them, was that weekends are really slow and boring. They were make changes to help out weekends as I was leaving, and also understand that it was not always this way before Covid limited their options. Overall I would go back if I had to, but certainly hope not to for obvious reasons.

My VA Doctor Actually Knows My Name. Thank you, Dr. Helene Rhodes Kramer! Living with rheumatoid arthritis is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. It's a brutally painful, isolating, and exhausting disease. What makes it bearable is having a VA doctor who truly knows me — not just my chart, but my name. Dr. Helene Rhodes Kramer, Rheumatologist at the Tucson VA specialty clinics, is that doctor. Recently, my pain got so bad that I went to the local VA emergency room for relief and completely forgot I had a scheduled tele-health visit with her. While I was in the ER receiving 1,000 mg of steroids shot to calm the inflammation, Dr. Kramer called because I hadn't logged into our video appointment. When she learned I was in the ER, she spoke directly with the emergency room team about my RA and my treatment. I was so proud and grateful in that moment because it proved she knows my name and my story, and that she actively defends my care. That kind of attention and coordination doesn't just feel good emotionally — it improves my overall well-being and my medical outcomes. It's the difference between feeling like "just another patient" and feeling truly seen. Dr. Kramer is my VA doctor because she knows who I am. That means everything when you're living with a chronic, painful disease. Thank you, Dr. Kramer, and thank you, Tucson VA, for your care and service. Brenda M
