I recently had the absolute pleasure of spending two days at Sabino Recovery in Tucson, and I can honestly say it was an exquisite experience from start to finish. The setting is peaceful and spiritual, creating a truly healing environment for clients and staff alike. What stood out most was the caliber of their team—every person I met was deeply committed, highly skilled, and genuinely compassionate. It was an honor to offer a training on experiential therapy and family work, and I was so impressed by their openness, engagement, and dedication to clinical excellence. Sabino Recovery is clearly doing meaningful, integrity-driven work in the field of recovery. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone seeking high-quality, exceptional care.

Complex Trauma rears its ugly head without warning, oftentimes a slow boil over years. Choosing Sabino Recovery was the best decision I made to finally and thoroughly address the past so it can stop determining my future. The team of professional therapists, psychiatry, neurofeedback, naturopathy, sleep, somatic, and nursing all worked together to address the different areas needing treatment. It’s not one thing, it’s not one pill, it’s not one secret weapon. What Sabino has put together to treat C-PTSD is outstanding and has put me on the path to create a new life. Stop looking and call them.

Sierra Tucson is a place of refuge and healing. I came here in February 2026. I worked hard with my professional team, using them and my process group, to unhinge the deep core of trauma that created such sadness, depression, and anxiety. It felt so freeing to heal here and unexplainable peace enveloped me. The problem was that my professional team did not believe I was ready to go home. Despite their advice, I returned home, thinking I could handle things. I thought my own team of professionals could prevent me from disaster. I was wrong. At the beginning of May, I knew I needed to return to Sierra Tucson. Today, at the beginning of June I am able to return home with my team of professionals’ blessing. In addition, I could not have done this without the help and support of my process group, I am leaving again, but this time I know my hard and painful work is done. I can leave proud of the person I have become—or actually the person I was so very long ago. Thank you, Sierra Tucson, for saving my life not once, but twice. ❤️

I'm alive and doing well! just wanted to say hi to everyone here! you are all so awesome, i wish i could say hi and see how your all doing! i think about each one of you and how you gave your time and heart to me and others! i know its tough dealing with people like me and i want to say im super grateful for you.... i wish i could say hi to a specific a few but i dont want to leave anyone out. just know im so grateful for everyone of you. I also wanted to say to everyone else that was here with me...I am really grateful for you too! more than you probably will ever know. Of All the Stars and Planets in the universe, you are all like them to me. Like memories that cant be seen, it is the most important thing to me...why you would choose to truly save others can only mean one thing, that you are all good people! The miracle is you! thank you

Life changing... as a disabled veteran who served on submarines, my PTSD, anxiety and depression had impacted every area of my life and all that I had built was disintegrating. I was at the point of despairing of my own life and tired of it all... until my psychiatrist and the VA helped me to get to Sierra Tucson (ST). The staff, modalities and the Red White and Blue (RWB) program at ST were so encompassing and caring. ST provided classes that filled the full gambit of psychological approaches, TMS, Ketamine therapy, Integrative services (incorporating healing of the nervous system and body), and moral injury, among other support and restorative methods. By far the gold for me was in the Process Group work, work with my Primary Therapist (Kris Davis), Psychodrama with Adena Bank Lees, Ketamine therapy and how the peer support system is setup as a whole. I have learned how to give place and support others in their feelings and beliefs and more importantly how to access, sit with, and integrate my own emotions. My inner critic is being freed to support me and show me what I fear, and now I am equipped to be present in that fear and authentically choose to act in truth and love. Don't get me wrong... no place is perfect and the staff is spread thin, yet the staff care and the structure is the best I have seen. Thank you ST for your support and for fostering and nurturing my healing and authentic identity. Forever grateful!

Went yesterday to visit someone for they're birthday. Visiting day is Sunday only. But since work prevents Sunday being available for us. And then the fact that it's a 4 hour drive each way. The staff made an exception. We were permitted to bring a cake. Which everyone, staff included had a serving. And gift's were given. I was pulled off to the side to discuss the situation with respect to the rest involved. Staff is helpful and friendly. And most of them seem to genuinely care about the clients. This adolescent behavior program has been an amazing experience for our family. The staff is compassionate, supportive, and genuinely invested in helping teens develop the skills they need to succeed. One of the biggest highlights has been Glen Baker’s MMA class. He’s an exceptional instructor who goes far beyond teaching martial arts—he instills discipline, confidence, accountability, and respect in every class. My teen looks forward to attending each week, and we’ve seen such a positive impact. We’re incredibly grateful for this program and highly recommend it to any family looking for meaningful support for their teen.

I can’t say enough great things about this adolescent behavior program. From day one, the staff has been supportive, structured, and genuinely invested in helping teens grow into confident, responsible young adults. The program blends accountability with encouragement in a way that really works. But the true standout is Glen Baker’s MMA class. Glen brings a level of passion, discipline, and mentorship that you rarely see. His ability to connect with teens is remarkable — he teaches them not just technique, but respect, focus, and self‑control. The confidence my child has gained from his class is unbelievable. Glen’s instruction is professional, motivating, and absolutely top‑tier. If you’re looking for a program that builds character, resilience, and real‑world skills, this is the one. And if your teen has the chance to train with Glen Baker, consider it a huge bonus. Five stars all the way.

Five stars all the way! Coach Glen Baker is a powerhouse of motivation and skill at this youth rehabilitation center. His MMA training is top‑tier, but what truly sets him apart is the way he connects with the kids — pushing them, believing in them, and celebrating every win, big or small. Our son walks out of every session stronger, more confident, and more focused. Coach Glen is the kind of mentor every young person deserves.

This place is fantastic and top notch for those that want the treatment and help. The food is good for a hospital type facility and will adjust to one’s diet requests. The place is clean with decent beds to sleep on. The staff is all great and can relate to recovery. I did the detox and 30 day residential and of course with any 30 day stay there’s good days and bad with food, rules, and organization from the staff, but overall they try hard and it met my expectations for having to be in treatment. They have arcade games, pool table, and air hockey and other things for entertainment when not in groups. The only complaint or suggestion, that I also told them, was that weekends are really slow and boring. They were make changes to help out weekends as I was leaving, and also understand that it was not always this way before Covid limited their options. Overall I would go back if I had to, but certainly hope not to for obvious reasons.

Cottonwood Tucson is a CARF accredited substance use disorder and behavioral health treatment center in Tucson, Arizona. The center embraces a holistic philosophy and strives to treat the body, mind and spirit through exercise, nutrition and spirituality. They treat adult men and women and offer specialty programs for first responders and veterans.
After interviewing several facilities in and around Arizona, our family chose Cottonwood. They are strong in treatment of both mental health and substance use issues. Meredith Cohen as a primary therapist was particularly helpful for us, as was Sallie who utilizes EMDR/NARM modalities to therapy. Their support staff is educated, kind, and attentive. Cottonwood also emphasized the importance of the patient working to build their support system and truly be immersed in the community while receiving treatment. We highly recommend Cottonwood.

I just recently got established with the VA for care even though I’ve been out of the military for a couple years. I usually avoid medical because my problems have always been dismissed. Although it took a few months to get my initial appointment, it has been worth the wait. I have had an amazing experience here and I think it’s mostly because I have an amazing provider. Dr. Robinson is one of the most attentive and caring physicians I have ever had and I feel incredibly safe and cared for in her hands. I’ve never had a physician as amazing as her (not even close) and I’ve been through a lot of doctors. The nurses and other staff here have been incredible as well. Pharmacy & lab were quick for me and the people in lab were amazing with me (I’m not great with needles). The other patients and clients visiting the hospital are great as well. I always enjoy the chats with strangers in waiting rooms. I love the camaraderie and vibes despite many of us coming from very different walks in life. I highly recommend this VA hospital.

Exceptional First-Time Experience at the Tucson VA Clinic – Outstanding Care by NP Nancy Granado I recently had my very first visit to the Tucson VA Clinic and was seen by Nurse Practitioner Nancy. Transitions into the VA healthcare system can sometimes feel overwhelming, but Nancy made the entire experience incredibly positive. From the moment the appointment began, Nancy was friendly, genuinely curious about my background and health history, and exceptionally helpful. Rather than just conducting a routine check-up, she took the time to educate me on a wide range of VA benefits, healthcare options, and programs that I was completely unfamiliar with. Her proactive approach, clear communication, and dedication to veteran care are a credit to the Tucson VA team. I left the appointment feeling heard, supported, and much more knowledgeable about the resources available to me. Thank you, Nancy, for an outstanding start to my VA care!

I love this place. It really helped me get my life back. IOP with housing. But it is first come first serve. If you want to turn your life around, this is the place. And you have to be serious about it. They don't play games. The staff is awesome and know what they are talking about.

I've always have gotten great help from CODAC and have been with them close to twenty years or so... they now have a medical provider there and my psychiatrist is Sheila and she's AWESOME!! She's always upbeat and really cares about how you're doing... in fact, I had to see Sheila one day because my psychiatrist was out and after that one visit, I switched to her right away.
