We were checked in by Kayla, who was friendly and fast — I don’t think we even sat for a full minute before being called back. That kind of efficiency is rare these days! Mark, the RN, was kind, thorough, and respectful and made sure we had every number we needed to navigate the system with confidence. Then we met Joshua Makela, PA-C and it was clear from the start that we were in excellent hands. Not only is Josh a veteran himself (which we deeply respect), but he’s also compassionate, knowledgeable, and a true listener. He took his time to explain everything, answer questions, and walk us through what to expect going forward. After the appointment, Kayla checked us out and scheduled Eric’s next annual physical. We left feeling informed, supported, and so grateful to be part of Team Freedom. This group truly feels like our tribe. KaylynMcGowan 2 years ago With this facility transitioning to a hybrid sober living platform requiring the daily programming with the way it has been taught has been life changing to say the least, the opportunity my wife and I have been given to join this program I must say not only my life individually has been saved my marriage has been as well and that has not been a focus in fact my marriage saved is a most pleasant by product of my own and my wife's sobriety as individuals, while my wife and I are working this program as individuals our bond has grew in strength along with the connection we have which is growing daily, this in depth 12 step based program has taught me how to live differently in sobriety. Chris 3 months ago This place saved my life. Literally. In around December of 2024 I was hospitalized here for severe suicidal tendencies. I’m not going to get too into it, but I’ve had mental health problems my entire life and a few things happened that year that pushed it pass the point that I could handle. I was here for 45 days, where I was on a 1 on 1 most of that time for impulsive self harming behaviors. I received ECT treatment during this time and it’s like it just completely reset my whole system. I lost a majority of my memories and had to relearn a bunch of things which was unfortunate, but I felt like an entirely new person. I can hold a job, I feel confident in myself, I can build new relationships, I’m going to college because I’ve finally found a passion in life that I want to pursue, and I don’t have suicidal tendencies anymore—not like I did before. Not only did the ECT help tremendously, but being in PHP and IOP afterwards helped me find structure after the reset, and it helped me gain coping skills that I didn’t have before. I was able to understand what I was feeling and now when I do have SI, it’s like a flashing thought because I can use the coping skills I learned to realize that it’s not an option. I had been on so many different meds, done so many different treatments, seen so many different doctors trying to get better, and I had truly lost hope. I've had a few housing navigators , I was sad when I got shuffled at first but after Treva, working with me, I began to trust her and believe her and to me that's what counts. I'll never for get the first time. I was trying to Dilute my urine So I had drinking about 15 or 16 water bottles not knowing that water is a natural laxative and when I went into task they told me that I was not allowed to poop in there . And considering the all of my poop was watery and chunky I found myself in quite a pickle. John was watching the window that day-and he looked at me and he said don't do it. And I said I can't hold it. And John said don't do it. And I said then I'm gonna s* all-over myself. And John said don't f** do it . So I tried to make it to the trash can and John was yelling know the whole-time. So I ended up s***** on the floor in the trash can and myself .But I will say that the staff was very helpful they cleaned-up the mess right away-and John told me to never come-back there ever again .And we have been friends ever since .Looking back on it now I feel like me and John would never guess we'd still be here 10 or 11 years later .Me and John are like peas and carrots .Sincerely dooky .
