We were checked in by Kayla, who was friendly and fast — I don’t think we even sat for a full minute before being called back. That kind of efficiency is rare these days! Mark, the RN, was kind, thorough, and respectful and made sure we had every number we needed to navigate the system with confidence. Then we met Joshua Makela, PA-C and it was clear from the start that we were in excellent hands. Not only is Josh a veteran himself (which we deeply respect), but he’s also compassionate, knowledgeable, and a true listener. He took his time to explain everything, answer questions, and walk us through what to expect going forward. After the appointment, Kayla checked us out and scheduled Eric’s next annual physical. We left feeling informed, supported, and so grateful to be part of Team Freedom. This group truly feels like our tribe. I had been to 2 places before & unfortunately neither one helped in the long run. I was literally on the verge of destroying my entire life with an opioid addiction & don’t even remember the days before detox or the first few days in detox, it was that bad. So while I was in detox, I was on the verge of hopelessness sitting in regret & overwhelmed by past trauma when someone came to me and said, your only option at this point is Soberman’s. I had never heard of them before, but at this point I’m willing to try anything so, let’s get it going as soon as I leave detox. All I can say is this place is magical! From the first night until the last I felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. For the first time in my life everything made sense & I felt safe because of Soberman’s way of doing things. The labyrinth has an energy like I’ve never felt before, it’s like everyone who had been there before left a little part of themselves to help those to come. The staff all have stories of their own & are some of the most beautiful human beings I’ve had the pleasure to be around. The Alumni are great & very supportive! I was fortunate enough while I was there to do 2 Alumni dinners, so I was able to meet a lot of them during the dinner. I’ve also had the pleasure of going to one dinner since I’ve been out which was fun. The Alumni are very supportive & always available, which is something I’ve never had before. A group you can always call on & they also have a weekly zoom call to check in too. Sobermans helped guide me to my recipe for success & I will forever be grateful! KaylynMcGowan 2 years ago With this facility transitioning to a hybrid sober living platform requiring the daily programming with the way it has been taught has been life changing to say the least, the opportunity my wife and I have been given to join this program I must say not only my life individually has been saved my marriage has been as well and that has not been a focus in fact my marriage saved is a most pleasant by product of my own and my wife's sobriety as individuals, while my wife and I are working this program as individuals our bond has grew in strength along with the connection we have which is growing daily, this in depth 12 step based program has taught me how to live differently in sobriety. My experience is on Floor 2, L&D, NICU nurses, Post Partum. Fantastic nurses from all 3. RN ratios are good, appropriate. I was writing the ONE appreciation card on day 4, probably 10 names. L&D, “fun” & caring… Dominque, Charolette, Hailey (newer, but excellent bedside manner, gonna be great), Ilyana… NICU, don’t know a single name, but these people mean business. I have zero doubt these ninjas would resuscitate a serious situation with knowledge, experience, focus, and speed. They might be wild off the clock, but they’re not playing around in the moment. Post-partum, I know I’ll forget people, but Madi & Melissa, Tina (Tech/CNA, spelling?). Very patient, happy to educate. Fun. Madi was so laid back, yet happy to help which we needed after a few days in the hospital. Melissa, fun, if she didn’t have the solution, which she usually did, she knew who to get. The departments are very different, have different kinds of nurses. L&D has some new nurses, guessing they either had some turn over or are preparing for new tower/wing. My one slightly negative comment is coming from a Nurse Preceptor myself, to the nurse Preceptors in L&D, more of a reminder. The greatest nurse who ever lived was once new. Do not eat your own. Be kind in your tone, patient when they’re wrong, and encourage them openly. Overall, great experience. Absolutely do not regret choosing BTMC for our delivery over Abrazo Arrowhead.
