Accepted Insurance

Community Medical Services works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs support clients' successful reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Drug rehab aftercare presumes that recovery requires life-long support. These programs typically offer a wide variety of services customized for the clients' unique and evolving needs. Clients may receive vocational training and career counseling, housing assistance, legal aid, peer coaching, and 12 step program induction, among other services. Clients' case managers often play a lead role in rehab aftercare planning.

sober-living iconSober Living Homes

If you're struggling with adjusting to daily life after inpatient rehab, a sober living home in Arizona may be a good option. These residences offer an in-between option where you can practice the skills you learned in rehab in a structured, drug-free environment. This transition can help you prepare to face the "real world" after treatment. You'll live with others in recovery and follow house rules such as contributing to chores and paying rent.

heart-hands iconIntervention Services

If a person denies their substance abuse behavior when confronted one-on-one, a drug intervention in Arizona may be necessary. An intervention may be formally planned with intervention services from a professional who can guide loved ones through this process. The intervention involves confronting someone with how their drinking or drug use has affected themselves and everyone around them and encourages them to get treatment.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

The goal of motivational interviewing in Arizona is to enhance your confidence in your ability to make changes in your life. It encourages you to commit to change and plan for the process of making those changes that will allow you to reach your goals.

Trauma therapy focuses on helping you understand and manage emotional and physical responses to past trauma. Using therapeutic interventions, you learn to reframe the experience. This helps reduce your anxiety and gives you greater control over your life.

Residents of Arizona who are experiencing relationship problems may benefit from couples therapy. This form of psychotherapy helps couples express their feelings, resolve conflicts, and increase intimacy and affection.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

From the moment I started coming to CMS, Bianca has been a beacon of support and strength. What makes her so special is her ability to make every patient feel truly seen and heard. She has this incredible gift for creating a comfortable, judgment-free space where you feel safe to be yourself, even on the toughest days. Whether it’s through a warm smile, a kind word, or just the way she listens, she makes you feel like you matter. There have been times when I’ve wanted to give up, when showing up felt like too much. But Bianca has a way of gently pushing you to keep going. Her encouragement isn’t just words—it’s the kind of tough love that comes from genuinely believing in you. She doesn’t shame or judge when mistakes happen; instead, she offers steady support that reminds you it’s okay to stumble as long as you keep moving forward. That balance of firmness and compassion is rare and has made such a difference in my journey. What truly sets her apart is how she goes above and beyond. She doesn’t just do her job—she pours her heart into making sure every patient is on the right path. Whether it’s taking extra time to explain something, checking in with a kind word, or showing up with unwavering dedication, her care feels personal and profound. She’s not just a nurse; she’s a cornerstone of the CMS community, creating an environment where patients feel valued and supported. I hope Bianca knows how deeply her work is appreciated. Her presence transforms routine visits into moments of hope and progress. She’s a true gift to everyone lucky enough to cross her path, and I’m endlessly grateful for the impact she’s had on my life. Sincerely, Alyson Johnson

To the CMS Team and Leadership, I am compelled to share my profound gratitude for Ms. Tina whose exceptional care and dedication have not only transformed my experience at CMS but have also had a life-changing impact on my health and family life. From my very first visit, her warm and genuine demeanor made me feel instantly at ease, as if I had walked into exactly the right place. Her kind smile and heartfelt question, “How are you doing?” weren’t just polite gestures—they carried a sincerity that reassured me during some of my most challenging moments. What sets Tina apart is her remarkable initiative and empathy. On multiple occasions, when she sensed I was struggling with severe health issues, she didn’t hesitate to act. She expedited appointments when she had the ability to, to ensure I received timely care, demonstrating an intuitive understanding of when urgency was needed. One moment that stands out was when she noticed my distress and seamlessly coordinated with the medical team to prioritize my appointment, easing my anxiety and ensuring I got the attention I desperately needed. This wasn’t just a task for her—it was a reflection of her deep commitment to patients’ well-being. Beyond her compassion, Tina balances tough love with unwavering support, always letting patients know she’s there for them. I’ve witnessed her gently but firmly guide patients, offering encouragement while maintaining a professional standard that inspires trust. This balance creates a welcoming environment where everyone feels valued and supported, whether they’re a new patient walking through the door or someone navigating ongoing care. Her contributions extend far beyond individual patient interactions. Tina is a true team player, bringing positivity and collaboration to the CMS team. Her ability to work seamlessly with colleagues, maintain composure under pressure, and foster a warm clinic atmosphere elevates the entire practice. She doesn’t just perform her role—she enhances the team’s ability to deliver exceptional care. Tina has been a lifeline for me, and I know I’m not alone in feeling this way. Her actions have directly improved my health and brought stability to my family life during a difficult time. She is an invaluable asset to CMS, and I hope her colleagues and leadership recognize the profound difference she makes every day. Thank you, Ms. Tina for your compassion, initiative, and heart—you’ve truly saved lives, including mine. With deepest appreciation, Alyson Johnson

I’m from California and recently was in a situation where I was stuck in Arizona for an extra day and had no more take homes from my clinic in California. The people at the front desk Tina and PJ went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of even though they did not know me at all. Tina worked with my counselor from my clinic to make sure I could get a courtesy guest dose so that I would be alright. Even when it seemed like it wasn’t going to work out she made sure it would and got it done so I could feel alright for the long drive back home to California. Genuinely made me feel like I wasn’t an outsider. She definitely moves mountains for the patients at this clinic. And she moved mountains for me not knowing a thing about me other than me needing a guest dose. Thank you again 🙏

Hi Steven, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We love to hear that Tina and PJ were able to assist you during your unexpected stay in Arizona. It's wonderful to know they made you feel supported. We appreciate your kind words and wish you safe travels back to California.
