Your day really depends on the staff working that day. Andrew and Tyler were the only good nurses in my experience. Staff gets on you all the time telling you to separate but all day your pretty much alone in the day room with other patients. Techs check in once in awhile but it helped to be able to bond with other patients. The overall space was cleaner then other hospitals. Some techs are really helpful and will sit with you and talk while they work. Nurses do get on you about eating though, I wouldn't eat and they tried to get me on ensures all the time. The Asian doctor is horrible and doesn't listen, told me at one point I was self harming for attention. They didn't give me my clothes for almost a week when I was admitted because I kept scratching myself and had me in the same scrubs for the entire time. Some Russian nurse kept saying self harm was a trend and we were doing it to be cool which was not appropriate. Staff doesn't care when your having serious problems and will just give you meds to knock you out. Front desk staff was so kind, I was greeted by a young girl, she was new but you could tell she's in the right field. Very kind and compassionate and made me feel welcome! Candy in adult intake is a treasure. She made sure I felt comfortable and safe throughout the entire appointment. Intakes for establishing care can be very lengthy and repetitive, but she kept the energy bright and bubbly the entire time. She played my favorite music to help make me feel comfortable and placed no judgment when I opened up about my issues. We laughed, and she encouraged me multiple times throughout my appointment. They were able to explain any questions or concerns, as well as provide me plenty of resources should I need them. I didn't have any issues getting in their books either!!! This place is clean, accepting, and welcoming. I'm very excited to continue my care here to assist with my recovery! Sophia Manning 4 weeks ago I recently graduated from DRC’s Residential Treatment Center, and if you’re reading reviews because you’re scared to take that first step, I want to give you an honest perspective from someone who has been on both sides. I’m a therapist, and after years of caring for everyone else, I found myself in severe AuDHD burnout needing help of my own. I wasn’t nervous about the beautiful house or amenities, I was nervous about the people. Staff can make or break treatment. The house is wonderful. It’s peaceful, comfortable, and full of extras like the arcade, pool, massage therapy, and chiropractic care that genuinely support recovery. But none of those things changed my life. The people did. Blayne made one of the scariest phone calls of my life feel safe. After another facility made me feel like just another name, he immediately made me laugh and gave me hope I had found the right place. Dylan handled my intake with kindness and patience. You can tell he genuinely wants every person to feel seen and welcomed. Chris has one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever met. His groups are honest, practical, and grounded in real life. He meets people exactly where they are and creates a space where vulnerability feels safe. Alex consistently goes above and beyond. He notices the people who quietly need support before they even ask. His calm, secure presence made it easy to trust him. Rachel showed me kindness during one of my lowest moments. She sat with me and braided my hair when I felt completely alone. It may sound small, but those quiet acts of care become unforgettable when your nervous system doesn’t feel safe. Jamie has one of the warmest, calmest presences I’ve ever been around. Dr. Snell changed my life. She looked past my knowledge as a therapist and saw the person underneath it. She helped me understand what was keeping me stuck in active AuDHD burnout and, through both her clinical skill and humanity, helped me become present again. Bart reminded us that healing isn’t only found in therapy by filling the house with music and bringing everyone together. John deserves his own paragraph. There were several nights I didn’t feel safe within myself. I couldn’t sleep, so I’d lay on the couch in the common area. John could have stayed in the office, but instead he chose to sit beside me. Not because he had to. Because he cared. He probably thought he was simply keeping someone company. For me, it was one of the first times in years I truly felt safe while falling apart. His quiet presence helped my nervous system believe I wasn’t alone, and I honestly believe those moments helped me begin integrating everything I was learning. I’ll never forget that. He also never failed to make me laugh. Jason the director, impressed me every time I saw him. Even with everything on his plate, he somehow makes people feel like they matter. His passion for DRC is obvious. Adam works tirelessly behind the scenes, but he always made time to stop, sit down, and genuinely check in with me. That kind of intentional kindness says everything about who he is. Thank you as well to every group facilitator and every member of the nursing staff for your compassion and consistency. To every single person at DRC, thank you for helping me feel alive again after years of simply surviving. I was trying to Dilute my urine So I had drinking about 15 or 16 water bottles not knowing that water is a natural laxative and when I went into task they told me that I was not allowed to poop in there . And considering the all of my poop was watery and chunky I found myself in quite a pickle. John was watching the window that day-and he looked at me and he said don't do it. And I said I can't hold it. And John said don't do it. And I said then I'm gonna s* all-over myself. And John said don't f** do it . So I tried to make it to the trash can and John was yelling know the whole-time. So I ended up s***** on the floor in the trash can and myself .But I will say that the staff was very helpful they cleaned-up the mess right away-and John told me to never come-back there ever again .And we have been friends ever since .Looking back on it now I feel like me and John would never guess we'd still be here 10 or 11 years later .Me and John are like peas and carrots .Sincerely dooky .
