I was referred to them by the VA, to take care of my ADHD diagnosis. However, they didnt help with what I was originally there for to begin with. They kept adding diagnoses, and changing the medications for those diagnosis, and wouldn’t give me what I was there for until I took another medication that they wanted for a month. Seems to me like they never cared, to take care of me as a patient from the get go, and would create reasons as to why, they wouldn’t treat my intended diagnosis. If you want a care team to completely disregard what you require, then this is the place to go. Marco V.

The team really works well with each other. I feel like I'm really looked out for by my therapist and psychiatrist, they work in tangent for my wellbeing and are generally enjoyable people to work with. Only down side it the location is far from home, but it's worth the drive for the people helping me.

Accepted Insurance

Transitions Counseling and Consulting works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive inpatient programs (IOP) offer high-level support for clients in early recovery, those exiting detox or inpatient rehabs, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Intensive outpatient treatment typically includes rigorous individual, group, and family counseling. Evidence-based complementary therapies, such as acupuncture and massage, are widely available. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) may be provided. Clients in IOP receive a minimum of nine hours of treatment per week but may engage in up to 20 treatment hours weekly.

aftercare iconAftercare Support

Rehab aftercare programs support clients' successful reintegration into their home, workplace, and community. Drug rehab aftercare presumes that recovery requires life-long support. These programs typically offer a wide variety of services customized for the clients' unique and evolving needs. Clients may receive vocational training and career counseling, housing assistance, legal aid, peer coaching, and 12 step program induction, among other services. Clients' case managers often play a lead role in rehab aftercare planning.

partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers a short-term alternative to inpatient treatment or a step-down option after a residential program. With PHP treatment, you'll receive 6 to 8 hours of daily support, up to 5 days a week. The duration of a partial hospitalization program can vary with the average length being 90 days. While commuting is necessary, some programs also offer telehealth options. PHP treatment is often covered by insurance and typically offers medication management, relapse prevention techniques, and behavioral therapy.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

The safest way to remove addictive substances from your body is done under the care of licensed medical professionals. Known as medically assisted detox, this level of care is typically in an inpatient setting with a team of medical experts that may include doctors, nurses, and mental health clinicians. Medications like Suboxone, methadone, or Vivitrol may be administered to help alleviate withdrawal symptoms.

Treatments

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image

Military Program

Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Nutrition therapy helps reduce the discomfort of detox and reduces cravings during drug rehab in Arizona. It helps you navigate nutrition, teaching you how to plan and prepare meals that meet your nutritional needs.

Some nicotine replacement therapy options are available over the counter. Others require a prescription from your doctor. Common forms in Arizona include nicotine patches, gum, and lozenges. Quit smoking medications are also available.

"Your health is our first priority. Our team will spend time reviewing the details of the costs of care if insurance coverage is not available for your treatment. We are willing to create customized payment plans to make it possible to access the care you need, when you need it. " The above is from the Transitions website. Except my experience in person was the opposite. They told me my outpatient treatment would be $4k, broken down into monthly payments of $660 for 6 months. As my conditions have me out of work right now that is an impossible amount for me, so I asked if I could pay less or half that amount, for a longer period of time. I was crying and borderline begging. The accounts person, Holly, was completely dismissive - nope, these are our prices. So you can get therapy from Transitions if you have thousands of dollars in cash up front. The rest of us can jump off a building, apparently.

Response from the owner
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with our team. We understand that cost can feel overwhelming, and I'm truly sorry we were unable to offer a payment option that worked. We do our best to make our care as accessible as possible by being in-network with many insurance plans, offering reduced rates through our supervised graduate interns, adding new plans each year, providing payment plan options, and accepting Care Credit. If you feel you'd like to further explore any of these options or have questions, please feel free to reach out to us at feedback@tcchr.com. Thank you again for your feedback and presenting us with an opportunity to improve. We wish you the very best!

I am a veteran and the VA pays for my care. My first appointment they didn't have my medical records, which were in fact sent. 2nd appointment I was told that I missed the 9:30 appointment, when I have several emails stating the appointment was at 10:30. This place is beyond ridiculous. I dropped them and got a new doctor. Beware, this place is very disorganized. I do not recommend.

Taylor in appointments scheduling has bad customer service. I had issues since they moved to their new portal. The meeting links were not coming through for Telehealth visits. I called and left several voicemails about the issue. No solutions. Counselor and NP are okay.
