I visited the ER and was obvioulsy low on the priority list. That is good. That means plenty of other people were sicker than I. I would have preferred a bed to manage my pain rather than the RP setting. Everyone was awesome. I remember Diego, Morgan and the wonderful Lauren. I wasn't the sickest person in the building by far, so I understand the delays while you juggle mutliple cases. The digital assistant touched base with me with updates. I do think the RP rooms/curtained zones need a nurse call button. For me, I feel like it created additional anxiety be confined in an approx 7'x7' curtained space with a recliner. I understand the need for such a space to manage beds but listening to others playing Comedian entertainers talking dirty on their phones, or incessantly talking to someone on the phone. Kind of ramps up the stress. The lighting is also bright for everyone in that zone. I really just wanted to close my eyes and try to relax and focus on managing my pain. My Heart Is Overwhelmed with Gratitude
My experience at the hospital began at 5:30 AM, when I was greeted by the night-shift volunteer, Ms. Kelly, whose graceful and gentle presence set a tone of calm kindness. I watched her finishing her shift — cleaning her desk and answering calls with joyful energy — before she personally escorted me to meet the Registration Agent, Ms. Teesa.
Ms. Teesa looked like an Egyptian goddess — her intricate braids, elegant outfit, and soft green manicure all radiated quiet confidence. Her warmth and humor made me feel instantly at ease, as if I were meeting an old friend.
When I reached the surgical floor, I was given a hospital brochure thoughtfully prepared with every essential medical form a patient or family might need. That attention to detail was deeply reassuring. I was also greeted by a senior volunteer couple whose kindness and serenity added yet another layer of comfort to the morning.
For years, I had carried fear and distrust after many painful IV attempts at other facilities. But the Pre-Op RN, Ms. Karla, moved around me like a soft breeze — calm, light, and full of grace. She inserted the IV with one gentle touch I could barely feel. Her presence alone was healing.
The Anesthesiologist, Ty, performed his work perfectly — no pressure, no side effects post-surgery, only peaceful rest and recovery.
And then came the heart of my journey — Dr. Westphal, the Royalty of Surgery, whom I had been searching for over two years after an earlier failed operation.
Dr. Westphal’s mastery, patience, and innovative techniques restored not only my health but my faith in medicine. I wake up every morning filled with gratitude and go to bed with prayers of love for this remarkable surgeon, who treats every patient like family.
The care did not end in the operating room. The office staff — from Dr. Westphal’s focused and thorough PA, Ms. Kathy to the warmly welcoming reception staff (Diane, Tricia, Stephanie and others) and the kind Radiology Technicians — all radiate kindness, openness, and genuine love for their patients. Every visit feels like being welcomed home.
God’s blessings to you all. I will forever cherish the love, professionalism, and devotion you shared with me throughout my healing journey.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Loving Melissa

It was a life learning experience that I won't forget. I was skeptical and resistant at first but ended up learning more about myself than I thought I needed to. The staff was surprisingly better than what you'd think. You can tell who's who by the overall interactions with the surprises they get on a daily basis. I've witnessed patience, compassion, and an overall well-being of basic humanity. I'm glad to have met everyone I did meet, patients and staff. I probably could have stayed longer but I actually wanted to start living even though I didn't realize I already was. I owe them an apology for my impatience and some misunderstandings. Overall a bit worrying because of the ways that the corporate ownership have designed a system which claims to honor patients rights but, seems a bit dubious at times in follow through with limited immediate recourse for patients, especially if they can't advocate for people. However, most staff are kind and compassionate and want to help, especially La'Kisha M., who was running the front desk tonight. She was kind enough to check on my husband and tell him I was waiting for him until he could be seen and take him home, and to help arrange for him to call me on their line, and although he had to wait 12 hours to see the provider, (5 hours after I arrived in the waiting room) once he did and was able to present calmly and articulately the doctor cleared him to be released, and she let me know and he was able to call me and tell me himself also. Prayers for La'Kisha M.'s strength, perseverance and courage and likewise for her coworkers. Also Dorothy was very kind, and both advocated for my partner's release, as he did not want to be here. I pray for both of your strength and your family's well being as care work is also hard for families sometimes. Please continue to advocate for your clients rights with leadership, and keep being awesome and compassionate, and keep doing what you can to help when and where you are able; you can help shape this system and improve the treatment circumstances for patients in this facility. Bless you and your coworkers with similar attitude. I wish you strength, energy and fortitude in advocating for people with mental health issues. Bless you bless you bless you.

Ive been to quite a few places like this in my life and even worked at a few only this one and one other can I say Ive had a positive experience from reality is its a mental hospital and no one wants to be admitted but the important thing that stood out to me was the level of real, genuine, authentic interactions I had with some of the staff, everyone has their own issues but I promise whatever your going through staff will be able to relate on a deeper level than most would expect and for anyone who struggles with anyone honesty is worth a million times more than being cottled its not about being comfortable its about CHANGE wich is never easy Im giving this place 5 stars because they deserve it more places should have staff with this kind of approach they can relate and they want you to succeed

My son is 18 and struggling with a fentanyl addiction. To say the very least it’s been hard and traumatic. My son went to the crossroads detox facility. The 12 step program works miracles and the people that work within the facility have first-hand experience often times with their own addiction recovery. Rose and Bridgette were incredibly impressionable on my son and worked very hard to influence him positively. If I could afford to open a dozen more of these places I would. God bless these people and those struggling with addiction.

Scottsdale Providence Recovery - saved my life getting me through the hardest times. The team never gave up and I’m grateful. I have to hand it to Lauren Younger my case manager who fought tooth and nail with things like my Short Term Disability, Legal and anything that came her way.

Scottsdale Providence changed my whole life. I walked in completely broken, drinking and using to survive, carrying years of trauma and pain I didn’t even know how to set down. I didn’t know what I needed. I just knew I couldn’t keep living the way I was bc it was killing me. From the second I got there, the staff saw me in a way nobody ever has. They understood me. They didn’t judge me. Everything they do has intention. Nothing is random. There is rhyme and reason behind every group, every boundary, every tough conversation, and every moment they push you to sit with yourself instead of running.
And honestly, the people you meet here… they’re a huge part of the healing. The patients are amazing bc the staff creates a space where everyone feels safe and connected. You end up being transparent in ways you never have before. You hear everyone’s truth. You share yours. You feel seen and less alone. That kind of honesty changes you.
Most of the staff are addicts in recovery too, with years and years of sobriety. That makes such a difference. They don’t talk at you. They talk with you. They get the addict mind. They understand the shame, the fear, the spiraling, the survival mode. They know what it feels like to want to quit and still feel pulled back in. You just feel understood on a soul level.
They didn’t just help me stop drinking and using. They helped me understand why I did it. They got to the root emotionally, physically, and spiritually. They taught me tools I actually use every single day. They challenged me when I wanted to shut down. They held space for me when I couldn’t catch my breath. Not once did I feel judged. I felt guided. I felt held. I felt like my life actually mattered.
Scottsdale Providence didn’t just help me get sober. They gave me my life back. They gave my kids their mom back. They helped me find myself again. If you’re scared or feel like there’s no way out, I’m telling you from my own heart, this place is real. This is where healing actually happens. I’m forever grateful.

They embrace an integrati | Treatments Programs Payment Options | My Mom has been with Soul Surgery for the past 2 months. It's been truly amazing to witness her transformation & continued progression since joining.
What I love about Soul Surgery is that it has provided my Mom with a stable environment to live alcohol-free, receive support and training for sober living, and encourages her freedom in creating a fulfilled and joyful life.
She rides her bike every day around the city and nearby parks, chooses to meal prep her food weekly for health, enjoys fun hobbies, and is free to come and go as she pleases. She is vibrant, excited about life, and is consistently engaged in the training activities and group meetings that she attends daily.
I am happy that we are able to spend time together anytime on and offsite. It was great to get together on Memorials Day for swimming & family time. It is so nice to get to visit and talk on the phone and in person.
I am extremely grateful for Soul Surgery and the difference it is making for my Mom. I am looking forward to seeing her continue on her path of recovery and create everything she desires for her life. <3

I cannot express enough gratitude for the transformative impact this place has had on my mom's life. After 15 years of battling addiction, her two-month stay here has been nothing short of miraculous. The supportive environment, coupled with compassionate staff and fellow residents, has been instrumental in her journey to sobriety. This haven is not just a house; it's a beacon of hope for individuals seeking recovery. We are forever indebted to the incredible team behind this life-changing program.

With this facility transitioning to a hybrid sober living platform requiring the daily programming with the way it has been taught has been life changing to say the least, the opportunity my wife and I have been given to join this program I must say not only my life individually has been saved my marriage has been as well and that has not been a focus in fact my marriage saved is a most pleasant by product of my own and my wife's sobriety as individuals, while my wife and I are working this program as individuals our bond has grew in strength along with the connection we have which is growing daily, this in depth 12 step based program has taught me how to live differently in sobriety. With learning how to live differently in sobriety the freedom to come and go as we please along with the ability to work has been excellent to allow us to experience the outside world while still in a safe environment, with this being my first and only treatment that I've ever gone through it be extremely difficult to imagine any other program having the impact Soul Surgery has had on me if I was given a choice how I want to attain sobriety I would chose this place, I am forever thankful and greatful for having the opportunity for sobriety and learning how to use the tools from who I have learned them from.
Coach M I thank you for the opportunity and I'm grateful to learn how I am being taught.
