STOP!!! Do not go to this place if you are looking for help. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. The staff treated patients as though they were in a prison rather than people who were there seeking help for their mental health. I felt like they did not genuinely care about the patients or their well-being. There were also serious concerns that I believe need to be investigated. I personally observed teenagers smoking cigarettes, which I found extremely concerning. There was also an incident involving medication being given to the wrong person, which is extremely serious when it comes to patient safety. The elevator was another major safety concern. It did not operate properly, and I witnessed people having to kick it in order to get it to move. That is completely unacceptable in a healthcare facility and should be addressed immediately. I also witnessed staff behaving inappropriately and unprofessionally with one another. The overall environment felt extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional. I would never return to this facility, and based on my personal experience, I would not recommend it to anyone seeking mental health treatment. I believe the facility needs serious oversight and that the state should investigate the conditions and patient care there. This is my personal experience, and I hope someone takes these concerns seriously because patients seeking mental health treatment deserve to feel safe, respected, and properly cared for.

I was here almost 2 months ago, the staff were really nice and kinda handled some situations really good, although the person who was in charge of letting me out wasn't doing a great job and some other patients agree. Overall the food is nice kinda, the showers are something ok depending on room, staff are sweet as sugar

I just wanna say thank you to everyone here! I came after a failed suicide attempt put me in the ER and it was just what I needed! Staff are helpful and friendly, security measures are taken, and everything is picture perfect! I was worried about how being trans in an all boys unit would be, but everyone was respectful and kind! At one point I was even offered to go to a co-ed unit instead but I had already made so many friends I didn't wanna transfer. I'm vegetarian and substitutes were ALWAYS provided (The impossible tenders are to die for) and the kitchen staff even asked what I liked best so they could make it more often for me. I had a few down moments there and staffers were very helpful in processing and being there for you! Especially Ms.Randi, absolutely amazing human being. God truly is one of us. Other amazing human beings like Nurse V, Destiny, Erica, Jess, Jackie, Michael, and Amanda. Love you all! It was a pleasure to be under your care! I even met my boyfriend here, so all in all a healing experience. There's courtyard time, indoor basketball courts, cafeterias. day rooms, rec therapy, and more to keep you occupied and healing. I truly cannot wait to start the next chapter of my life, thank you all so much! Only complaint is with how tiresome it is to get shaving approved, like as someone who was there for SH I understand why but it was still very annoying. You have to ask the doctor who's only there in the morning who has to do a meeting to get it approved, and someone has to watch you shave. After that I thought I was in the clear, and asked again a few days later, turns out you need an approval and meeting EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. So I asked the doctor to put one in again because dysphoria isn't helpful when trying to heal, and he never put it in and was unable to before I left. That and they fail to keep the staff safe, kids jump the nurses station all the time by hopping the window when that could be prevented by a single bar horizontally across over the top, but no one does anything so the staff have to be constantly vigilant and keeping their workspace safe from a bunch of rowdy teenagers. Also some of the rooms don't have toilet seats, shower curtains or bathroom doors, which is not ideal obviously.

I absolutely loved the help I received from Oralia, the Director of Southwest Behavioral Health, today. She was kind, patient, understanding, and truly took the time to listen to me. I felt heard, respected, and understood, and I’m very grateful for her help. I highly recommend speaking with Oralia if you’re experiencing any issues or need someone who will genuinely listen and understand. I also want to recognize Jennifer Kurr, one of the best psychiatrists at Southwest Behavioral Health. I have been seeing her for over five years, and she has always been wonderful. I highly recommend her as well!

I’ve been coming to Southwest Behavioral & Health Services for the past 5 years and I’m very happy and satisfied with this place! I have Autism and I have never had anyone here treat me poorly, unkindly or like I’m a bother or burden, unlike other places I’ve gone to before that only seem to care about their bottom line. One of the best experiences I’ve ever had with ANY medical professional has been with Dr. Ramses. Dr. Ramses is very kind, professional, understanding and knowledgeable. He actually cares. He takes the time to listen to me, and explain the possible options and medication for my condition and treatment. I truly feel like I’m in good hands with him and so are you!

I’m the member, I love the front office, they doing really good job than anyone else, response fast, call back fast. Always being nice to me.
