About Silicon Valley Recovery

Silicon Valley Recovery is a private addiction treatment center for adults in San Jose, California. They provide medical detox, residential treatment, and aftercare support. They also offer gender-separate programs and specialized programs for members of the LGBTQ+ community, and people with co-occurring addiction and mental illness.

You can get medication assisted treatment if you’re experiencing opioid or alcohol dependency to help you manage cravings and reduce your relapse risk. They’re also specially positioned to help PTSD patients with their trauma-informed care and therapist.

In addition to more traditional services, such as CBT, DBT, and recovery education, you can also choose from a range of holistic therapies. This might include art and recreational therapy.

One thing that stands out to me is their beautiful beachside setting. You can focus on your recovery in a private and secluded setting with breathtaking views.

One guest said they felt very welcomed there and highlighted acupuncture therapy as one of their personal favorites. Another guest said the chef not only made tasty meals, but also offered kindness, support, and a willing ear to listen.

I want to give a huge thank you to Silicon Valley Recovery for all the help, support, and healing I received while I was in treatment. My therapist, Nick, was incredible—he truly helped me do the internal work I needed on a personal level. I’m also grateful to my counselor, Joaquin, and to Joaquin and Sam for helping me with all of my legal and DMV issues during my stay. English is my second language, and sometimes I felt a little intimidated—especially when my English felt broken—but everyone there was so supportive. They made me feel at home, accepted, and confident. That meant so much to me. During my time at SVR, I grew a lot as an individual. They helped me build a new way of life, and recovery has shown me how amazing life can be. I’m truly grateful for that. You can really feel the dedication and compassion from everyone at SVR. The love and care they show each client is something special, and it made a huge difference in my experience. The program itself is amazing—I enjoyed every activity, every outing, and every meeting. A big shout-out to housekeeping, the chef, the technicians, the facilitators, the medical staff, the nurses, John, Sonia, and everyone else who works so hard behind the scenes. Thank you for everything you do. This place truly made a positive impact on my life. I’m looking forward to continuing to be part of my SVR family through the alumni program.

I don’t even know where to begin — Silicon Valley Recovery Center changed my life. I arrived here broken, scared, exhausted, and unsure of where to turn next. From the moment I walked in, the entire team accepted me with open arms. They met every need I had, without hesitation or judgment. They didn’t just give me treatment — they gave me safety, dignity, and hope. As a member of the LGBTQ community and an African-American man, I am always mindful of where I seek support. Not once did I feel judged, misunderstood, or discriminated against here. I felt respected, valued, and seen. That alone is priceless. They also welcomed my dog, Asher — which was non-negotiable for me. Not only did they accept him, they loved him, accommodated him, and made sure he had everything he needed. They even went above and beyond and drove me more than an hour away to tour safe housing options for after treatment. That level of compassion and effort is rare. The programming here is incredible — thoughtful, structured, intentional, and truly life-changing. The therapists, counselors, case managers, medical team, and staff are some of the most genuine humans I’ve ever met. The food is amazing, the amenities are comfortable, and the environment feels like a community, not a facility. I came here lost and overwhelmed. I’m leaving grounded, clear, hopeful, and excited for the future. I will forever be grateful for what this place has done for me, and I mean that with my whole heart. If you are looking for a place to heal — a place that treats you like a human being, not a number — this is where you need to be. Silicon Valley Recovery Center saved my life, and I would recommend it to anyone. If they ever need someone to share a testimonial, speak to potential clients, or represent the program publicly, I’m their guy — that’s how deeply I believe in this place. My dream is to come back one day and work here so I can give back even a fraction of what they gave me. Thank you, SVRC — for everything. I am forever grateful.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Clients receiving treatment at an outpatient rehab typically do not require hospitalization or intensive supervision and support. Outpatient addiction counseling and recovery education are often offered during the morning, evening, night, and weekend, allowing clients to tailor treatment to their own schedule. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are the most time-intensive and are designed for clients who are at an increased relapse risk and/or who need more robust therapeutic support.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Rehab aftercare programs offer clients in addiction recovery a robust continuum of care after clients have completed active treatment. These services address recovery as a life-long process and are designed to evolve with clients' changing needs. Clients may partner with their case managers and/or addiction recovery team to identify the rehab aftercare services that are right for them. They may receive career counseling, housing assistance, peer coaching, 12 step program induction, among many other services.

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.

For clients who are struggling with ambivalence toward change, motivational interviewing in California can help strengthen their commitment to change. Using a conversational method, the therapist helps you explore your motivations and empowers you to make the changes you desire.

Family therapy offers a platform for members to have an open dialogue about the challenges that addiction has placed on the family unit. Through guided sessions, therapists can help families develop healthy communication skills and address unresolved issues. By working together toward a common goal, they help to support their loved one's sobriety.

The goal of creative arts therapy in California is to encourage growth and transformation. It can be used in individual and group settings with both children and adults. Options include movement, music, and painting.

I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am to have been a part of this program. This was my first time at a recovery center and it was one of the best choices I have ever made. I felt so welcomed and accept by both peers and staff. The bonds and memories I’ve made will stick with me forever. I was advocated for and supported during all of my challenging moments. Although I had to leave the nest and spread my wings, I know I always have a home and a family at SVR. Thank you for showing me I can have a wonderful life being sober!

Response from the owner

You’ve proven to yourself that a beautiful, sober life is within reach, and we’re cheering you on as you continue to spread your wings and move forward with strength and hope.
