My hopes were really high, but at times hope and the reality of managing a large center end up crashing. Dr. Connealy is extremely knowledgeable and caring and as such she herself and the staff of nurses deserve a 5 star review. Unfortunately, the whole approach of using a number of different contracted practitioners results in what I call "the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing". Overworked and understaffed? Not my problem! Train your practitioners better and demand nothing but excellence! This is my expectation as a patient with cancer. In my specific case: 1) Many tests were re-done or duplicated upon my arrival even though prior to my first week I had submitted test results that were only 2 months old. Their policy clearly states they will accept test that are less than 6 months old. These tests furthermore were genetic analyses which do not change overnight or ever (for instance MTHFR evaluation). 2) There is no comprehensive and cohesive plan, but only a series of tests done by different practitioners often with questionable non scientific techniques, often resulting in conflicting results. For instance, I was first told to take certain supplements only to be told not to based on certain results, but then told again they are needed. There is no coherent plan or continuity of results between testing like live blood cell, f-scan, M.E.A.D. and Bio Immune testing. I would especially expect a certain degree of coherence between energetic tests such as M.E.A.D. and Bio Immune but no, completely different and baffling results. And, if indeed we are claiming that the BIO IMMUNE survey yields more precise results, then prescribe that and don't do the others. 3) In my case, the interpretation of results was not discussed with me during the appointment as most practitioners seem to be rushed and in a hurry to get to their next client. 4) I am completely on board with getting to the root cause of diseases. However, doing a piecemeal job with a ton of testing done by different practitioners with no medical training and not much experience and without proper interpretation and understanding is not what I was signing up for. It is the difference between information and wisdom. 5) Test results should never be posted in the portal without a patient talking to her doctor beforehand. Cancer can leave us very vulnerable and nervous around test results. Again, this is where wisdom and compassion should prevail. 6) I thought the center was supporting a metabolic approach as far as nutrition is concerned. For me, coming from years of possible insulin resistance, this means a ketogenic diet. Imagine my surprise when the nutritionist at the center suggested "a softer approach" including lentils and more carbs. Wow, anybody read the latest research? 7) I will continue to use the knowledge and expertise of Dr. Connealy for RGCC testing, QT and other relevant imaging. 8) I want to make sure people read this which is I think Dr. Connealy herself is competent and caring and so are the nurses which work very hard. Healing form cancer is a complex (not complicated) individual juggling act, requiring depth of knowledge and the ability to elegantly condense information into wisdom and practical useful advice. I strongly suggest an internal audit to truly figure out what is needed and what is not. Often less is more.

I recently contacted this center and left a voicemail requesting a return call. Two days later, instead of receiving a call back, I was sent a text message containing a link to three videos, which I was instructed to watch prior to any further communication. All I needed was to submit my blood sample for a specialized test, that unfortunately can only be administered by physicians affiliated with the test's parent company. I proceeded to watch the videos, though two were more than enough. The first featured Dr. Connealy, the clinic's founder. From the outset, something felt off. Her delivery lacked authenticity and warmth--it came across more like a performance, rehearsed and insincere, reminiscent of a poorly acted television commercial for a ambulance chasing lawyer. It immediately raised red flags about the integrity of the practice and did not inspire confidence. However, it was the second video that truly stunned me: to even become a patient at this clinic, YOU ARE RECUIRED TO PAY a $10,000 deposit!!!!! As if they weren't offering care--they were selling access, and only to those who could afford to pay upfront. I have never encountered a medical institution that demands such a substantial upfront fee simply for access to care. It echoes the retainer model used by attorneys, and suggests a troubling shift in medical ethics--from patient-centered care to profit-driven operations. This isn't just disheartening--it's predatory. They appear to be targeting vulnerable individuals, leveraging their desperation to extract exorbitant fees, all while their bank accounts swell. Is this what medicine has become? A business model that mirrors lawyers taking retainers--only this time, it's doctors, capitalizing on people's pain and fear? It's heartbreaking. There are people fighting for their lives, willing to do anything for a chance at hope--and instead, they're being drained emotionally and financially. The Hippocratic Oath, long a cornerstone of medical ethics, emphasizes the duty of physicians to act in the best interest of their patients. That principle seems increasingly neglected. It is deeply disappointing to witness such a departure from the values that should define the medical profession. One would hope that those who have committed their lives to healing would uphold higher standards. This experience left me disillusioned and angry. Healthcare should never be a luxury reserved for the wealthy. It should be grounded in compassion, ethics, and the sincere desire to help people--not in profits and paywalls. They should be ashamed.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

monthly iconMonthly

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image

LGBTQ Program

Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

I dropped off my records to this place and chased their scheduler (Laurie) for 2 weeks. Finally she calls me back while I'm tied up and leaves a voicemail saying the Dr has reviewed my records and they will not be taking me on as a patient. So I left a voicemail asking why and I assume I won't hear back. I'm really confused about this. I was seeking alternative therapies in addition to the conventional treatments I am doing. I assume they take on other stage 4 cases and my er/pr+ HER2- metastatic breast cancer is very common and I've heard my case in particular is pretty text book. So why wouldn't a "cancer center" take on the worst of cases? If we have no hope here, then where do we find it? It makes me wonder...is it because I am a terminal case and they only take on the easy paychecks of stage 1 and stage 2 cases? Some cancer center. I'M OFFENDED AND WILL TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. I am not a lost cause and I refuse to let them label me as such.

I have loved this place for all the support but recently tried to schedule a IV EVEN THO they typically charge more than other places for this service and because I had not had a appt with doctor for over a year my appt was declined. That seems a little over the top to require an additional appt before IV therapy. Clearly I am doing better at this time from getting traditional targeted therapy from my oncologist and that is why I haven’t had a doctor appt for some time as the targeted therapy is working. But…. You apparently have to pay anywhere from 450-800 hour for a doctor appt before you can continue to get IV’s . Sadly because I feel so comfortable there and would prefer to also have any Iv added to my chart there- I will now have to seek a IV somewhere else. It’s not a good feeling to be made to feel as if you are not a valued patient unless you have a doctor visit yearly?

Hi Ms. Matrix Metaphor,

We understand your frustration and want to take a moment to explain our policy. Your safety and well-being are our highest priority. For this reason, we require an updated provider order for IV therapy, especially for patients undergoing cancer treatment. We do our best to make this process as smooth and efficient as possible, and we’re always open to discussing any concerns or questions you may have about your care plan.

We truly value you as a patient and would like to address your concerns directly. Dear Healing Community, I felt compelled to reach out to those of you who may be struggling with cancer like I am, because I know how difficult it is to find the best care with so much conflicting information & so many options out there!! I am feeling so grateful and blessed that I have been directed to the competent and caring team at Cancer Center for Healing in Irvine!! Thank you all for creating a loving environment to be healed in!! Dr Gama and Trish have an amazing team... Tara, Shak, Kiernan, Mariah, Mariela, Anita and Stephanie….are all amazing people who truly care!! ( & So many more, I don't know everyone's names yet). I've been so impressed with the way they care for the individual needs of each patient!! No "body" is exactly the same & thankfully cancer treatment isn't given in a "cookie cutter" approach there!! From the detailed blood work, vitamins & cancer treating medicines- they help pin point for you, to the personal caring touches of helping get you a blanket, a warm water bottle or making you a yummy shake during treatments, it’s all done with kindness, love and a smile!! I truly feel I'm in such great hands while on this tough journey & appreciate all the hard work everyone at the Cancer Center for Healing offers each day!! Thank you so much to David and Darrell from Lumati Wellness for referring me. God bless you all for your efforts to help so many of us heal!! 💕 Jeannette

I visited the cancer center and did not have a good experience. I have not posted this review earlier because I think most of us cancer patients are worried about leaving a negative review. However, the more time that goes by the more I feel people should hear are both great reviews and not so great reviews. I am a big believer of you have to go experience something yourself to see if it works for you. When I first called the cancer center I spoke with a lady name Dana. She was indifferent and insensitive. I had her on speakerphone when I was driving with my 14-year-old daughter. I was a bit embarrassed that she was acting so bothered by me and I knew that was a red flag. I decided to put the appointment on hold, first impressions say a lot. Then I continue to watch a girl on Instagram post all all of the success she was having. So I felt like I had to go see for myself. Side note wish I listened to my intuition. I scheduled an appointment and met with Dr. Connealy. She spent an hour with me. She seemed thorough and knowledgeable. Definitely nice enough. However when presented with her treatment plan half of what she recommended I was contraindicated for. I have an internal cardiac device. She had recommended several treatments that I could not do with my device . Also, recommended low-dose chemotherapy for me. Which chemotherapy does not work well with lobular cancer. My bodies has a critical heart condition, so my traditional oncologist and cardiologist did not want to treat me with chemotherapy. I asked Dr C why she wanted to and said well we should try everything. I stayed at the treatment center and went over my treatment plan with Dana, again she seemed hurried, and she spoke very quickly. They then sent me to a patient coordinator to set up appointments. The pt coordinator was great. Then I was scheduled with another doctor to go over what I had already gone over with Dr C. I went ahead and spent a few days there. While I was there, they were repeating labs that I already had. I had already mentioned to them that I had them and it was like they weren’t listening. In my lympatic massage appointment the clinaican talksed way too much. She did warn me I had to advocate for myself even paying the big bucks at the cancer center. I completed treatment and went home.In the meantime, I was waiting for labs to come in. The labs came in and I had a zoom appointment with one of their other doctor. She went over results of my labs. At this point, she started with my medical health history. Dr. C and her assistant noted the cancer in the wrong location. This made the doctor I was meeting with want to repeat my whole health history. Which I believe the consultation with her ran 450 an hour. Dr. C was 750 an hour. I was a little bit disappointed that I had to pay for something that should have already been reviewed properly. I paid, and I reflected back on my experience. Not to to return. I came home. Did treatment with a naturopathic doctor and followed my western doctors recommendations. My stage four metastatic breast cancer is now in remission. I believe anyone can heal from anything. It is what you truly believe in that is going to heal you. So the patients that are truly passionate about this cancer center will absolutely heal. So while I found this place to be, a money grab. They are a business and they are providing medical treatment to people who are seeking a different way to heal. There is nothing wrong with that. Our country is built on capitalism. But this was not the place for my healing. Auto dictated this all... Sorry if it doesn’t make sense! Best of wishes on your recoveries.

Beware!! After Vicki convinces you to sign your life away, they will take your money and you will still have cancer. There is a non refundable clause so you can never get your money back no matter how many promises they break. It’s unfortunate that there are companies like this that are taking advantage of people with cancer.

This is the place where you can get treatment for your cancer naturally using supplements and other medical technologies not so commonly use in other medical facilities. Unlike other conventional medical facilities, CCFH is using integrative approach. They use supplements, not drugs that tend to poison your body. At the same time the doctors here will combine conventional approach with the natural if necessary, but they will support your body with other supplements to counteract the side effects. The doctor I am seeing, Dr. Brittany Ptak, is using her medical knowledge to find the root causes of my cancer. I have a high liver enzymes for years now. The other doctors I have seen previously gave up on me to find the cause. Even though my case is a mystery to Dr. Ptak, she doesn't give up finding the root cause of my high liver enzymes. That is just one example of what she does in one part of many in treating my cancer, finding the root cause not just a band aid of temporary solution. You won't get better overnight when you get treatment at CCFH, but you can be assured that you will get treatment that is not detrimental to your body.

My husband Tim is a patient here. Great staff. Dr. Connealy took her time with us on the first appointment to go over what we are dealing with and how we got to this place. Helpful and informative. We were looking for alternative treatment for radiation and my husband has responded well to the first two weeks of treatment. It is pricey but if alternative treatment is what you are looking for then they have you covered.

Thank you for your kind words, Victoria! We look forward to partnering with you and your husband on this journey toward healing.

Dr Connealy and the whole staff are all passionate about helping their patients. They treat you individually and not a one size fits all place. They do a lot of testing and treatments right there at the center. Love this place:-)

Response from the ownerInvalid relative date format:
Thank you so much Terri! So grateful that our passion for our patients shows. We are constantly growing our list of best treatments available from around the world...but it's our team that deserves all the credit for providing the personal care needed on the journey to wellness. ❤️❤️
