Medication-Assisted Treatment:

Opioids are any drugs based on the chemical composition of opium. An opiate is a synthetic (man-made) version of an opioid, also known as a narcotic. Opiate pain medications include prescription painkillers, like Oxycodone, OxyContin, and Percocet. Other opioids include morphine, codeine, hydrocodone, buprenorphine, methadone, and heroin. Dependence or addiction to opioids is treated in a similar fashion to other drug and alcohol addictions, with an eye towards helping the body detox safely before other treatment commences. Opiate withdrawal is managed by the use of Suboxone and is gradually tapered as successful rehabilitation progresses toward independence.

Buprenorphine Detox:

This program is part of the Drug Dependence Program except that Suboxone (Buprenorphine) is used to control withdrawal symptoms over a longer period of time. Studies have shown that buprenorphine treatment reduces opioid use, retains patients in treatment, has few side effects, and is acceptable to most patients. Suboxone® are the only forms of buprenorphine that are indicated and can be legally used for the treatment of opioid addiction in the United States.

To facilitate ongoing recovery, they also incorporate a broad spectrum of post-treatment support tools, and if necessary they consider Vivitrol administration, among other therapeutic interventions, so that you have every advantage you need to continue on the path to personal wellness.

Psychotropic Medication:

Psychotropic medications (aka psychodynamic medication) are any medicines used specifically to affect and/or alter a patient’s mind, emotions, and behaviors. Dr. Kabir utilizes, when needed, specific, targeted, medications for the purpose of patient stabilization and/or withdrawal symptoms. Dr. M. A. Kabir is certified by the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). The DEA registration grants practitioners federal authority to handle controlled substances. However, the DEA registered practitioner may only engage in those activities that are authorized under state law for the jurisdiction in which the practice is located.

Level of Care:

Holistic Treatment:

Rather than focusing solely on addiction, holistic treatment facilities treat patients in terms of their whole being. Holistic treatment is about more than just addiction and sobriety – it addresses the person’s life in its entirety, including career, physical, familial, and spiritual aspects.

Medically Assisted Detox:

The Ambulatory Detoxification Program is a medically supervised program designed to systematically reduce physical dependence on alcohol, opiates, sedatives, hypnotics and other drugs in an outpatient setting. The patient may suffer withdrawal symptoms during abstinence, which necessitates medical intervention to control the physical impact of sobriety. Individuals requiring treatment of withdrawal symptoms will be appropriately assessed and treated for symptomatic relief. Detoxification services are run 7 days per week with intake assessments accepted from 10am – 5pm daily.

24-Hour Clinical Care:

Behavior Disorders Behavior Disorders Centrec Care has a triage team (MD, APRN, LCSW) available to manage psychiatric emergencies and provides crisis stabilization Monday through Friday from 9am to 9pm. Patients who are acutely psychotic, high risk for suicide and/or homicide with a lethal plan and who present with over-riding medical problems are referred for inpatient treatment according to the organization’s emergency service policy.

Intensive Outpatient:

IOP is a comprehensive, short-term outpatient program that provides support and treatment for individuals facing emotional and mental difficulties. The program is also beneficial for those who have substance abuse problems and dual diagnosis disorders. It is a step down in intensity from the PHP program. Treatment is delivered through a structured format of Psycho-Education and interactive group therapy. The Intensive Outpatient Program is a structured program that provides services for three hours per day, two to five days per week. Evening programs are available.

Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. Centrec Care’s Day Treatment Programs promptly begin daily at 10:00 am and typically conclude at 3:00 pm. There is a scheduled break for lunch. A well equipped kitchen is available for food preparation and storage. The coffee is always fresh and hot. Pleasant weather allows patients to spend break time outdoors. For patients who are unable to attend their Day Programs, Centrec Care offers treatment sessions in the evening following the same criteria and guidelines as the Day Programs.

Intervention Services:

The services involve brief, concentrated interventions to stabilize psychiatric conditions or behavioral and situational problems including substance abuse, prevent escalation of psychiatric symptoms, reduce the risk of harm to self or to others, avert loss of housing, and wherever possible to avoid the need for hospitalization or other more restrictive placement, and direct the patient to appropriate available service for care. Services and interventions are highly individualized and tailored to the needs and preferences of the participant, with the goal of maximizing independence and supporting recover.

Individualized Treatment:

A case manager counselor is assigned to each patient upon entrance to the program. That professional will travel with the patient through each segment of the treatment process on their journey to wellness. Upon completion of the program, the case manager counselor will be available to the patient for continuation of treatment via their Counseling Services Program. Centrec Care takes the time and effort to assess a patient’s life history from childhood to adulthood. This information is vital to understanding the individual’s problems and associated afflictions. Essential groundwork for creating a treatment plan with solutions to attain success.

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A Twelve Step Journey to Wellness’ is a Psycho-educational series, that has been developed to provide insight into the way the human mind develops, how emotion is expressed and how behaviors are learned. It allows us to examine how well our inner world is functioning and how to effectively manage circumstances, as well as, relationships in the outer world. This program is the roadmap by which they teach their patients to follow on their journey to health, happiness, peace and wellness.

Aftercare Support:

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatment Focus:

Opioid Addiction:

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse:

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Dual Diagnosis:

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Therapy Programs:

Family Therapy:

Family therapy is a branch of psychotherapy that works with families and couples in intimate relationships to nurture change and development. It tends to view change in terms of the systems of interaction between family members. It emphasizes family relationships as an important factor in psychological health. Centrec Care’s approach to therapy is not to assign fault or blame on the individual or family. They believe that regardless of the problem and who may be responsible for the friction, the family unit will be guided towards uncovering solutions to the issues. This involvement of families is commonly accomplished by their direct participation in the therapy session. Their trained professionals use their skills to influence conversation, promote interaction and stimulate dialogue between the parties participating in the session.

Individual Therapy:

Upon entry into Centrec Cares Program each individual will be assigned a therapist who will conduct individual therapeutic sessions. The therapist will work to build a trusting relationship that will allow the patient to express his or her thoughts and emotions, while gaining insight into his or her behavioral health issues. A treatment plan will materialize based upon the information uncovered during these sessions. The plan will be modified as new and relevant characteristics are exposed by the individual, assisting in attaining a successful treatment outcome. Their approach to individual therapy is interactive in style and based on the concept that understanding and coming to terms with emotions is essential to effective problem solving and personal growth.

Group Therapy:

Centrec Care’s Group therapy can involve one or more therapists working with multiple people at the same time. The number of participants may range from 2-20 people. The group can be comprised of members who are at different stages in the treatment process. The group will typically have individuals who are suffering from varying behavioral health afflictions (depression, anxiety, stress), or substance abuse (alcohol, opiates, sedatives). Centrec Care has a structured menu of subject matter that the therapist will teach to the group members. The educational process will provide a better understanding of their problems and prepare the critical ground work for developing essential coping skills. They promote discussion in a highly interactive, energy charged exchange of ideas. The setting is safe and supportive, allowing group members to experiment without the fear of failure.

Couples Therapy:

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Animal Therapy:

Animal therapy (aka pet therapy or animal-assisted therapy) can be very healing, as it allows patients to bond with animals, who give unconditional love. This is particularly useful for those who suffered trauma by the hands of people, who may be able to trust and form closer attachments to animals than humans at certain stages of rehabilitation.
