I can’t say enough good things about this DUI counseling program. The teachers here truly go above and beyond…George, Troy, and Noel each share real-life stories and situations that make the lessons not only impactful but also relatable. You can tell they genuinely care about the work they do and about helping people learn and grow. Even Shelly, in the office, is kind and very relatable. What stood out to me most is that this program isn’t just for people with a DUI…it’s information that everyone should hear! The way it’s taught makes you reflect, and I honestly believe these lessons could benefit anyone, whether or not they’ve ever made the mistake of driving under the influence. It’s a truly valuable program run by people who care about making a difference.

I take my son to the belleville location, he sees a counselor there and sees one of the psychiatrist for his medication needs. We haven't had any issues since coming there. My son really enjoys going to see his counselor, especially on the days the weather is nice and they go walk and tall outside. The ladies at the front desk have always been nice and helpful. And since seeing his psychiatrist there has been a huge improvement with his moods and behavior at home and at school. As of right now I'm a happy mom seeing where he's at now versus a year ago.

Queen of Peace gave me the tools to save myself from alcohol addiction. Overall, I found the staff to be dedicated, hardworking, and compassionate. It’s scary admitting you need help with an addiction, especially when you realize you need inpatient treatment. I had a tough time adjusting at first (ended up with 8! roommates in 2 months) but the counselors, peer support staff, and BHTs were always understanding, and supportive. Having access to the beautiful chapel was a blessing as well. The outpatient program is just as helpful as inpatient. It’s the perfect way to transition back to your “new” normal life. I love this place, because it helps me love myself. get to know myself. it's really a growing spot people can really grow here( spiritually , mentally and physically) when you're on drugs you know you stuck! now you lie to yourself and you don't even know it. you know they help me recognize my lies in me. the way you think backwards sometimes you know; I used to think they were good and I like them in the matter is that are not good for me and they never had been. it' s taken relationship my friends my kids . They teach me how to gain my dignity back my respect for me and others. how I can be balanced I'm learning not to drink from my lower self but my higher self as like what would your God. It's about being a better person that I was contagious for and keep that going and growing.

This location has come along way compared to the way it was before. I’ve been coming here since 2022 and have had better progress and experience than I’ve had with any other facility in my part of Illinois/St. Louis. Although the psychiatric program is horrible and the therapy program would be excellent if you weren’t spending more time getting to know a new therapist every 6 months instead of working on your issues. (so when another job position opens up and pays more these therapist up and leave). For the most part I don’t have anything bad to say about this place my doctor is Kevin Garner and he’s the best primary care Provider that I’ve ever had. He cares and if he can help me with anything he does are points me into the direction I’m supposed to go. I recommend this place for anything from drug addiction to the flu are just getting your meds filled. Just go find a therapist or a psychiatrist somewhere else!!!

SSM Rehabilitation Hospital has to be the BEST CHOICE for PT and OT in the St. Louis area. I cannot imagine any other facility would be as thorough, caring, and determined to get me back to 'normal' after my surgery and hospital stay. I have to name the EXCELLENT staff by name as the TRUE heroes need to be recognized. First, the outstanding nursing staff; Winnie, Elham, Lem Lem, Krystal, and Shayla (Shay). They were very attentive and never ONCE made me feel that I was 'bothering' them even when I needed them at midnight or noon. The techs that went beyond the call of duty and must be named are Lyn - who was always friendly and smiling. This can make a person's day when spending multiple days in a facility. Also, Lea and An'drea were cheerful and attentive. These employees seem to truly LOVE what they do! Thanks to all them! Thanks to SSM Rehab Hospital for hiring people who really CARE about your patients! Physical Therapy Staff I need to recognize are Megan who was my primary therapist. She was so supportive, understanding, and encouraging. She knew exactly what I needed and 'PUSHED' me to go further and do more than I thought I could! Jeremy and Candace stand out as techs who were there when they were needed and went beyond the call of duty to serve their patients. I will never forget their kindness. The entire staff was so supportive! Amy, my case manager, was very helpful and set up everything for my return home. She was there to keep me informed. At the time of my illness, Amy was working alone as they were short handed in the Case Management department. She was managing everyone on the floor. I'm going to guess there were almost 50 people at that time on the floor. Her management and people skills shone through at a time when it had to be stressful!

In my opinion, SSM Acute Rehab deserves the highest rating we can give. Let me provide you with a quick overview. Note, I was there over a 3-4 week period. Doctors: Each patient has a Rehab and Medical doctor who came to see and speak to me everyday of my stay. They were professional and best of all compassionate. The insurance team fought my insurance company to ensure I received the best care possible and extended my stay 3 times. The Nurses and Techs responded quickly and worked to assist me with all my needs. I was treated like royalty. Admittedly, the food was less than satisfying. However, I did not come to eat. I came to work and walk again. By far, I save my greatest praise to the OTs, PTs and their Techs. Each day I was asked about my goals for that day. You would be surprised how quickly you heal if you accomplish daily goals. This group of individuals outlined expectations and assisted me with encouragement, support, and a sense of compassion I have not witnessed in a long time. My condition was complicated from the beginning, but the team found a way to tackle the road blocks and clear a path for me to succeed! Even though I have a ways to go, I did walk out of the hospital and accomplished my goal with Everyone's help. I cannot thank St. Mary's Rehab enough for the support and compassion. I now think of them as family. These are wonderful people who treat each patient like their own family. I cannot thank them enough. John Chestnas

My first time visiting JC VA medical facility was truthfully the highlight of my day. Valet members were so helpful and were insistent on putting a smile on my face before even entering the building. I needed water and the woman running the cafe at the front of the main building gave me ice cold water free of charge. I was reading signs trying to figure out where to go on the first and second floor, and each time, a VA team member stopped to help direct me. I had multiple appointments here that day and every provider was so attentive to my questions and helpful with directing me where to go next or what to expect. I look forward to whenever I have to come back and couldn't express the gratitude I felt for the staff at this hospital during my visit!!

This place was all about helping others get to the starting point in your life to see there is life out there without drugs if you want it that bad you can have it . Even though I left there and I relapsed 4 years ago that was my choice that I made because I wasn't ready then . Now I'm thriving ,sober ,have my kids back in my life ,and a new baby girl . This place made a big impact on my life that's why I'm writing this review 4 years later after I left. Some of the staffs inspiring stories and words is what got me to where I am today and I'm very thankful for that. Recovery will only work if u let it and it's hard work but yout have to put in the work to get in life you want to go . Don't give up . The nurses are amazing and listen and the counselors truly care all of them.( It's been three years since I left my first review of MedMark and I still feel it is an accurate review I would like to point out that there's rules that you have to follow when you're in treatment and a lot of people don't follow those rules and when they're held accountable they leave bad reviews. I entered harris house on january first this year... i didnt know what to expect when i entered. had some anxiety. i was there for 3 weeks, everyone was so compationate about my recovery i was impressed by that. i really like the fact that most all the counselors were former addicts themselves, and they knew what we were going through. ginny was my counselor and i met with her once a week. i have had alot of grief in my family. i lost 3 brothers. one at 22, the other at 37, and my other brother at 63. here at harris house, they gave me some tools to deal with my loss..i started drinking at age 18, until i got married at 30. i was sober for 14 years while married to my wife. well after we divorced i began drinking pretty much every day...well long story short, i had had enough of the damn alcohol and decided to get help. i just am so glad for harris house and how you all helped me...so thanks to you and your staff, i can get my life together sober. thank you so much and please keep helping others.. oh and by the way, the food is great as well...thank you.. signed jeff vance

I love my social worker Shalonda Card. You only get out what you put in when it comes to your case management. I was housing insecure for a period of time and couch surfing and she was able to hook me up with resources until I was able to mediate my living situation. I do know other unhoused people have issues with other social workers, while that needs to be fixed, my social worker is proactive and attentive to my needs as a patient. I do wish that they had more PSR groups in the evening because College conflicts with that. They don't have evaluations at thus office, I know Social Workers can hook you up with people within the network who can but that's my only gripe. Do keep in mind if you use pot or anything they can't prescribe controlled substances, luckily my General Practitioner knows I've been on my ADHD medicine for years and is willing to prescribe it. I have treatment resistant depression and I know that there's a controlled substance which is a psychiatric that helps treat depression and C-PTSD that I am interested in, and while they can't prescribe that for me specifically Shalonda ADAPT and CHN will help you coordinate care to ensure you have a psychiatrist who can offer you psychiatric treatment even if its not through the psychiatrists at ADAPT.

Wash whatever needed to be washed you could take a shower whenever you felt necessary. Food and snacks galore. By the way, the food was pretty good, but they had movies games. You go to the gym every morning. Just everything you need to get in practice of living a healthy life And the staff is just amazing. If you have an open mind an open heart and you are ready and willing to change your life. These are the people that will help you do it it is not just a job to them them. They have lived it or lived with it in one fashion or another and they understand. they have compassion and empathy and they really want to see you succeed. The resources they have access to are amazing They will help you find a safe place to go if necessary after your treatment. there's just so much they will help you with but let me make it clear they will help you. They will not do it for you. You will have to do the leg work but they will help you. If it's out there they will help you or find someone who will help you get what you need. A lot of them spend their own time and money to make the experience More enjoyable and to take the edge off the seriousness sometimes. Far above and beyond what they have to do for sure. Just exceptional people I can say I did not have one bad experience. Some days I loved it. Some days I didn't want to be there but everyday I learned something whether I realized or not and sometimes it took a while to accept the truth but they were always there to talk to help to cheer you up. I laughed more than I have in years when you're in a room with people who have all been there, done that and you start telling stories. You just can't help but laugh sometimes the stupid things we do as addicts but you realize you're not alone and the past is the past tomorrow is a new day and it'll all be okay just take it one day at a time . There are so many people who made a difference in my life that I will never forget I can't possibly mention everyone by name but I would like to say thank you to all of you at Chestnut I would not be sitting here today with 3 months sober without you! I hope this helps someone Make the decision to better their self BE WELL AND GOD BLESS!
