Poor counseling services- to me the most important part-Someone I love went there, they went in because of going into a drug induced psychosis, the counselor told the patient if they think the hallucinations happened then it happened. What a counselor says to a client is crucial. Did they gather the facts and look at the police report and talk to the family? The client thought the police were fake and thought someone was in my house that was not there hiding in a 6 interior wall. An innocent family was targeted. I am extremely upset because the person is still struggling with this episode and believing it happened. This ruined my family and we were together for 10 years with a child. I feel the counselor did not help work the client through the incident nor get family or me involved in which family and I were all there that night to see the mania. I personally almost was injured. My house was flipped upside down. My boyfriend broke into a house in which he would have never done sober. He assaulted a family in-front of their kids. Again he would have never did this sober. Hours before this I called his family because he was ripping out insulation out of the walls. They came over told him he was okay and left. I knew something bad was about to happen as I felt it in my gut. He has had previous episodes of hallucinations where he thought he could fly, and he jumped off a porch and fell to the ground. He also went into a loop before where he kept saying I have a lighter. He then said that we should rob a bank and we can do whatever we want to do. This was years ago . Sometimes when he uses he is fine others not so much. Client relapsed after getting out of this facility and facing some serious jail time. I am extremely upset with the counselor as client wasn t helped at all with this situation. I lost a man to this incident because he thinks it was real. I m exhausted I can t take defending myself and going over this a million times anymore.

A 28 year old family member transitioned here after 6 weeks sober. After 3 weeks, he was Administratively discharged without provision of prophylactic meds, resources, transportation, etc. Dumped at local DSS. Prior to discharge, the Resident asked his Counselor to speak directly to me on the phone. The Counselor's response was, "Let me check your file to see if there is permission." I found this lack of education/understanding troubling and difficult. There was no reprimand, write ups, sanctions, prior to outright discharge for the minor program infraction prompting discharge. These Providers may be "nice", but are poorly trained and unprofessional!

I have a relative that's received treatment here, and in my brief run-ins with the staff they've been absolutely incredible. They are extremely kind and genuinely care about the people they provide an unparalleled support system to.If you are struggling with addiction, mental health, or anything else like that, these people should absolutely be your first stop.

Accepted Insurance

Council on Alcohol and Substance Abuse works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

When you choose drug rehab in New York, you'll participate in a variety of treatments that are designed to help you live a drug-free lifestyle. Common methods of treatment include group, individual, and family counseling, medication management, nutrition, exercise, and management of co-occurring mental health disorders.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

New modern methods here! Thanks to this place I can say that I'm 3 months sober now after struggling on and off with addiction the last 6 years trying other methods outpatient facilities, kratom, cold turkey the methods they have and and recovery plans specific to the individual vs a cut and paste old style do this do that go her don't do that type method really helped me on my path so far I'm about 1/3 of the way through my path at casa and I feel secure in my sobriety I have a support circle and feel like people actually care if I make it through. If you have even the slightest thought that your ready to get sober and your sick of the day to day week after month cycle of using please call them get help for your self you CAN do it I did it if I can you can too don't let your addiction own your life take control and give yourself that second chance nobody gonna do it for you
