I go here for chemical dependency therapy, and after years of battling addiction and being on the losing side of the battle, I am finally winning my battle. And a big part of that is to the phenomenal help I get from my therapist and MAT dr. At Evelyn Brandon. My therapist is such a sweetheart. I can call or email her anytime of any day and she'll respond as soon as she can and help me through whatever. They act as more than drug counselors, they're life counselors too.
Plus I have a once a week group zoom meeting that I attend through Evelyn Brandon as well that I've gained some real close bonds with other recovering addicts so that I know that I'm never alone in this life long battle against my demons.

Not sure where all the negative reviews come from. I have taken my now 15 year old here on and off since he was 11. The only gripe I have is that if you go too long between appointments they close your account and you have to do a new intake. He has had two doctors and the second one, Sean is amazing. He has really helped my son. When there are little mental health options available, IMO, you should leave reviews with care. I have never had any issues with the intake staff or the the doctors. Rochester, New York | Rochester Regional Health used to be called Unity Hospital of Rochester. They provide alcohol and drug rehab services to teens and adults in Rochester, New York. Detox, inpatient treatment, outpatient treatment, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and aftercare are offered. Those with dual diagnosis are treated within each program. They also accep | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I'd like to know how many ppl catastrophized their visit "details" to sound worse. I have no doubt well over 50% of the 1 stars aren't accurate. When mad, some ppl make their experience sound as horrible as possible. If your needs are not met in a PERSONAL timeframe, everyone and everything sucks.
I waited in the waiting room for a little under two hours - 5pm on Friday evening. There was a total of -10 ppl waiting to be taken back. Waiting time wasn't unreasonable. Don't bug the ppl at the reception desks or the security guards whining about how much longer. NONE OF THEM KNOW!
I had a awesomesauce Nurse in the ER, her name was Amy. She was a night shift nurse and was my Nurse for the 7 hours I was in an ER bed. I only had to hit my call button for her ONCE about 20 minutes before I left because I needed to go to the bathroom and needed help. She came in to the room and checked on me regularly, came in w/ updates as soon as she had them, as well as a quick "Hi, need anything?" as she walked by. Every request you have of the nurses is based on need vs want. They are not all a #1 priority - socks, some water, a pillow, and blankets type things are not priorities. The whole ER does not revolve around you and 6+/10 ppl think it does, and is gonna complain so everyone knows it.
Amy's bedside manor was amazing. I have some personal struggles. She was kind and handled anything I said, asked about, or started to get visibly upset about w/ understanding and empathy. She was extremely nice to my Dad who was w/ me the whole time. I don't usually have any troubles w/ bloodwork, but last night I did. Who knew anxiety could make that tough! She knew EXACTLY how to handle it. She tried once in three spots, all veins collapsed. Fourth spot, no problem! I never felt like a pincusion! I only have smaller than a dime bruising on the 4th spot where she took multiple vials and bottles. No bruises on the other three spots she tried w/ no luck.
The ER has 70 beds. Each nurse has five patients w/ varying needs. When Amy was in the room, I felt cared for. I felt like I mattered. My BP spiked to triple digits over triple digits when I got very upset about the possibility of spending the night for IV fluids and IV antibiotics depending on what my bloodwork results were. She turned off the lights and was familiar w/ yoga breathing (so am I). Even taught me a good portion of the time w/ a anxiety BP spike, switch arms and put cuff on lower part vs the elbow. It's JUST as accurate and sometimes has different results. Maybe three minutes later, my other arm's numbers were very good and the ones that went on my chart, not the BP spike ones.
What took the longest was waiting for my bloodwork to come back. It's first come, first serve, not your reason for being in the ER is more important than others. (unless it's a trauma case) All of them came back "lovely!" and -20 minutes later I had all my paperwork, she explained all of it to make sure I understood it, a strong antibiotic, and actual iced water complete w/ bendy straw to drink in the car to make sure it went down because it was the size of a Glucosamine and Chondroitin!
I was +85% happy w/ my visit. Only crappy thing was the wait. Otherwise, no complaints. If someone is unhappy w/ ONE THING, everything that comes after it is going to be a complaint and more than likely the worst thing ever to happen to them. Many of these 1 star reviews are foolish and childish. Unity hospital does NOT deserve 2.8!

OK went in not knowing if the off the chart pain was a gallbladder attack or what was happening yes being in the hallway in the ER for over a day stunk but everyone was kind and I understand they’re trying to attend to everyone the best they can.. I was admitted, but needed to wait for many many many hours to get a room. Ended up with severe, acute pancreatitis got moved to the surgical floor where every nurse was absolutely fantastic and compassionate! Every time I had to ring the bell because of my IV having issues it was only minutes before they came in! So attentive, so caring! I can’t say enough as to how hard these nurses work, and still have a smile on their faces, and really care about their job! My major complaint would be about the food that is given on this floor, or any floor for that matter after being on a water only or a clear liquid diet, and then NPO diet, which is nothing by mouth in the picture I show what they gave me after four days of not eating … a hamburger and tater tots I was disgusted that this is what they would feed somebody Who is moving to a low-fat diet who has pancreatitis and gallbladder stones! Spoke to the dietitian and expressed my disgust! It’s shameful to feed people food that is raised with all of these dies chemical, preservatives loads of sugar and sodium. There’s nothing nutritious whatsoever about this food and you wonder why people are sick.!! After requesting some different type of food, they did bring up a little bit better food basically fruit and vegetables, which I was fine with I wasn’t eating much anyways. Maybe if more people advocate for better food, they might do something about it?

Alright, people. Here's the deal...
I'm going to give a bluntly honest review on the positives, as well as the negatives that come with placing yourself, or you're loved ones in this specific facility, Dick Van Dyke(DVD) and do so in as little text as possible.
I will give as much detail as possible, and the ONLY thing I will not inform you on is the names of any patients(OR Prisoners as the Court Or Parole Mandated ones call themselves 🤣).
To give reference to why you should trust the Information I'm giving you, or that you can give your loved one to make a logical and well informed decision before making one, this place truly is special in a way, it is also, not for SOME people, if you deal with certain, let's say, mental health or PTSD during sleep especially, and/or, triggers that make you...Let's say, explode and have angry responses, or, if you are someone without a lot of self control, or you dealt with tremendous amount of violence in your life that caused you issues currently with your temper, this place, really may not be the right fit for you..This was my first inpatient rehab experience, but this is FAR from being my first facility I have stayed in, I have been to jail in multiple states, mental health hospitals as a kid, group homes, and juvenile lockdown facilities in southern California, I am now 28 years old, and a father of two wonderful children out west, and though the past has a way of creeping up on me and effecting how I deal with things, they are my world and my reason for placing myself in this place.
However, let's start off with the positive aspects of D.V.D first.
So, Positives-
• You get you're own room, you do not have to share you're room.
•Theres only about 3 hours out of the day you have to attend groups and their split up.
•EVERY COUNSELOR Is Awesome, PLZ give Laura A Chance, she comes off very stern and doesn't mean to, but in my last night, she proved to be the one person who helped me the most, and was the most caring! She just, doesn't mean to come off the way you may feel at FIRST, I didn't really give her much of a chance and that's on ME.
•Andrea, where do I start with her..🤔Well, she's thee BEST staff in there, and even tho my violent, PTSD filled, lifetime of L.A Gangbanging crooked ass self walked in that place full of trauma, full of anger, pain so deep in the soul it has no escape, and even when I snapped a few times, she the one who ACTUALLY calmed me down, and truly cares..2 feet from a beast with 3 eyes she can see with more than just 2..and knows she was sitting across from somebody who used to get down with the demons and danced my whole life with the fk'n devil..She has all compassion & all desire to help and be somebody to lean on. I promise, she won't reveal it but she more gangster& more experienced than she looks/gives off. I, am just somebody filled with anger, pain, massive loss, watching my homies get killed right Infront of me, PTSD that is so hard to control, it would shock even the worst of men. She ain't budge, but my issue is, I didn't either, I should have opened up more to her. Best damn woman I've met in a very long time, in another life I woulda married her lmao she cool as a fan
•95% of the staff truly care, the women in this facility deserve the upmost respect. I lived a life of gangs since 12 y.o, selling/doing drugs, facilities, I'm someone who does not know how to talk about my trauma or express it non-aggressively, they still wanted to help me & they WILL help you. Ann Marie, Andrea, Laura, everybody EXCEPT CRISTEN T..I appreciate you all..
•DONT attempt to build any type of conversation with your nurses, most are nice but no unnecessary talk with your nurses. Especially CRISTEN T, leave that angry woman right alone if you have a temper. I came way out of my character reacting to her and snapped.

Rochester, New York | Huther Doyle is a treatment center in Rochester, New York, that provides addiction recovery and physical health services. The facility gives clients rapid access to an evaluation, a wellness program, and individualized research based recovery. The main services they offer are outpatient treatment and medication assisted treatment (MAT). A health ho | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I’ve been going here for addiction treatment for about 5 years. The doctors care! the nurse cares! They went above and beyond to help my husband and I. He lost his job because the company went under, so we weren’t insured because paperwork wasn’t filed correctly or something. Either way feeling extra grateful for the people who have been helping in my care for so many years! Making sure we are good on all fronts for many years.

Huther Doyle has been a great help for me in the past few months. I highly suggest Marcus Allen as a counselor. Both his groups and one-on-one meetings have been great. He has been positive influence on my life in all aspects. Front desk staff is also very kind and helpful.

I was assigned Arlene as a therapist March of 2022. Arlene and I have one on ones monthly. She always puts me first, helps with solve thru my problems I’m dealing with in early sobriety. Also provides me with resources and self help books to help me work on myself outside of therapy.
Also Laura is my peer advocate, she is always a phone call away, meets me at AA meetings and is a great friend along being a great support for me. Laura goes ABOVE and BEYOND her expectations. She truly cares for her clients & their journey with early sobriety. During active use, she made sure I made it to detox and I was in a safe place. She is a great example of what a sober woman is. Set a great example for new patients
I truly wouldn’t be where I am at if it wasn’t for Laura & Arlene ❤️😍
When I get my vivatrol injection, Mayra the PA, always takes time out of her day to say hello to me.
5 stars for Huther Doyle
