I had to find a new counselor after years of seeing one that I loved from Milestone in Hornell. I tried a couple others but ended up going to Steuben Mental health and thanks to a friends suggestion got in with a counselor there named Allison, she has been amazing and the entire staff are very pleasant. Should you need counseling services I would highly recommend them as they have a large collection of providers and can match you up very well. Truly a amazing experience to me and this coming from a man who has been in counseling for quite awhile.

Wonderful and understanding people here. The office workers, the counselor's are all great, especially Amber, my counselor. But my 2 favorite people in the building are Doctor Anderson and the addictions nurse, Karen. Them two have helped me with several other non addiction health issues. But I cannot say enough kind words to aptly describe just how awesome this collection of dedicated people who are easy to talk to and who also come from a place of understanding. You Rock A.C.A.S.A. I'd recommend people here, without a doubt.

The receptionist are really friendly and super helpful! I love that you can just walk in for a crisis appointment anytime and they will find a counselor for you to talk to if yours is unavailable if you're having a really hard day. They have a crisis hotline and the people who answer are really nice and helpful. The atmosphere here is really welcoming. I love that the staff here helps me believe in myself by challenging me to think more positive and use healthy coping skills in my everyday life. Clarity has some issues right now just like most businesses. My personal expirence is I have a consistent therapist that took the time to know me..well I have had a few that challenged me,and if your going thru something and your hateing on the place and you feel like they arnt treating fairly? It's ok it's part of the process. And the Dr knows me well and actually talks to me..and he always gives me his "Jerry Springer last thought" before the session ended.i gave 4 stars because nothings perfect and normal is just a setting on a dryer.

Thank you Dr. Snellgrove for truly listening to me and as a result, giving me back my quality of life. After several years of progressively worsening pain originating in the butt/hip area , off and on numbing and throbbing sensation (upper thigh mostly), and muscles weakness encompassing my entire right side, eventually being told by the director, herself, of orthopedic surgeon at another healthcare facility that it was mild arthritis and prescribing pharmaceuticals like candy on Halloween.
If my circumstance had not force me to move to the area, I never would have started seeing Dr. Snellgrove and most likely would be using some kind of walker, wheelchair, or been (unnecessarily/prematurely) operated on by now. Thank you for being an intuitive, intelligent physician. Thank you for referring me to an excellent specialist, who took the ball and has given me back my quality of life, without drugs, surgery or whatever that would have not been in MY best interest.

Aug 17 2023 is the day my life changed. I'm from the south. I had lived in the woods for a large part of my life. I was broken. I was angry and I was scared. The staff from nurses to counselors and even admission staff were amazing. They gave this homeless sick angry man hope. I'm 20 months sober now. They even helped me go from treatment to a transitional living facility. All I can say is go. Take that first step. They have you. I am eternally grateful.

Alright, people. Here's the deal...
I'm going to give a bluntly honest review on the positives, as well as the negatives that come with placing yourself, or you're loved ones in this specific facility, Dick Van Dyke(DVD) and do so in as little text as possible.
I will give as much detail as possible, and the ONLY thing I will not inform you on is the names of any patients(OR Prisoners as the Court Or Parole Mandated ones call themselves 🤣).
To give reference to why you should trust the Information I'm giving you, or that you can give your loved one to make a logical and well informed decision before making one, this place truly is special in a way, it is also, not for SOME people, if you deal with certain, let's say, mental health or PTSD during sleep especially, and/or, triggers that make you...Let's say, explode and have angry responses, or, if you are someone without a lot of self control, or you dealt with tremendous amount of violence in your life that caused you issues currently with your temper, this place, really may not be the right fit for you..This was my first inpatient rehab experience, but this is FAR from being my first facility I have stayed in, I have been to jail in multiple states, mental health hospitals as a kid, group homes, and juvenile lockdown facilities in southern California, I am now 28 years old, and a father of two wonderful children out west, and though the past has a way of creeping up on me and effecting how I deal with things, they are my world and my reason for placing myself in this place.
However, let's start off with the positive aspects of D.V.D first.
So, Positives-
• You get you're own room, you do not have to share you're room.
•Theres only about 3 hours out of the day you have to attend groups and their split up.
•EVERY COUNSELOR Is Awesome, PLZ give Laura A Chance, she comes off very stern and doesn't mean to, but in my last night, she proved to be the one person who helped me the most, and was the most caring! She just, doesn't mean to come off the way you may feel at FIRST, I didn't really give her much of a chance and that's on ME.
•Andrea, where do I start with her..🤔Well, she's thee BEST staff in there, and even tho my violent, PTSD filled, lifetime of L.A Gangbanging crooked ass self walked in that place full of trauma, full of anger, pain so deep in the soul it has no escape, and even when I snapped a few times, she the one who ACTUALLY calmed me down, and truly cares..2 feet from a beast with 3 eyes she can see with more than just 2..and knows she was sitting across from somebody who used to get down with the demons and danced my whole life with the fk'n devil..She has all compassion & all desire to help and be somebody to lean on. I promise, she won't reveal it but she more gangster& more experienced than she looks/gives off. I, am just somebody filled with anger, pain, massive loss, watching my homies get killed right Infront of me, PTSD that is so hard to control, it would shock even the worst of men. She ain't budge, but my issue is, I didn't either, I should have opened up more to her. Best damn woman I've met in a very long time, in another life I woulda married her lmao she cool as a fan
•95% of the staff truly care, the women in this facility deserve the upmost respect. I lived a life of gangs since 12 y.o, selling/doing drugs, facilities, I'm someone who does not know how to talk about my trauma or express it non-aggressively, they still wanted to help me & they WILL help you. Ann Marie, Andrea, Laura, everybody EXCEPT CRISTEN T..I appreciate you all..
•DONT attempt to build any type of conversation with your nurses, most are nice but no unnecessary talk with your nurses. Especially CRISTEN T, leave that angry woman right alone if you have a temper. I came way out of my character reacting to her and snapped.
•I was taken a lil off foot by my initial reaction to Laura, even complained a lil, but I found her to be the most caring & helpful my last night
•Prison Food From 5 Points Prison..
•Disgusting showers.
•Half the patients are mandated&want to get high.

I have been a patient here many times in different units. The med/surg and surgical doctors have listened to me at each stay, and the specialist followed me outpatient and is actually trying to find what is causing my symptoms. I have been to other specialist outpatient clinics at Strong for the same issues and was ignored. Their psychiatric care is top notch. I have been to Strong's CPEP and it was terrifying. When I have needed psychiatric care at Warsaw I feel human, respected, and listened to. They work with me and even are the ones that ordered a genetic test to see what meds I would respond to (that was completely life changing). The nurses and techs care and do everything they can to be supportive, listen, and advocate. The food is even pretty good for hospital food! 1 star was taken off, as being a health care facility there are always a few bad eggs that you run into, but the absolute vast majority of nurses, doctors, tech, housekeepers, greeters....etc are absolutely wonderful and care deeply and it shows in the care they provide. I have even reccomended family to go their over neighboring hospitals/ED because providers at Warsaw LISTEN. Wait times are shorter to be seen, and the nurses and doctors have actually listened to me and seen me as a human being.

I had a Turp surgery done at Millard suburban hospital Wednesday and I was released Thursday afternoon and the took my catheterder out that day. So I went to the Warsaw hospital Saturday evening and let me tell you the staff and the Emergency department was so caring that they put a catheter derived back in I fell much released i had a liter and a haft in my bladder thank you allll for you caring especially all the nurses they were to the T and the Doctor as well that was oncall.. July 19th 2025 thank you so much....

Staff is amazing. The doc's and other doc's are simply amazing. You can tell that everyone there cares for veterans. They wouldn't deal with us if they didn't truly care and you can tell that they do. Once these masks come off I can't wait to see all their beautiful smiles.
