About Hopewell – Therapeutic Farm Community

Hopewell is a residential treatment facility on 325 acres in Mesopotamia, Ohio. You can find this farm about 60 miles southeast of Cleavland. This program focuses on mind, body and spiritual recovery.

They treat adults who have severe mental illnesses. They also work with folks who are recovering from drug or alcohol abuse. However, clients must be clean and sober when admitted.

Hopewell is accredited by CARF. Most residents use private pay to cover their fees. You may also be able to use insurance benefits to cover some of the cost. I like that clients that use self-pay get a discounted daily rate. This fee is lower than the cost to run the program thanks to generous community donations.

Residential Recovery on a Therapeutic Farm in Middlefield

Hopewell staff support you with your specific goals like high school or college education, volunteering opportunities and relapse prevention. Their therapeutic offerings include medication management, group and individual therapy, and more.

Hopewell residents are monitored and their progress is evaluated regularly. Typical stays are between 4-9 months.

Structured and Engaging Daily Schedules in Ohio

At Hopewell, residents participate in a range of community work like farm animal care, gardens and groundskeeping, kitchen duty and housekeeping.

Your daily schedule is structured to include meals, various forms of healthy exercise like yoga and qigong, group meetings, daily work on the farm and off-campus outings. There is also time to relax, reflect and have quiet time.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care

inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Donors should be aware of how this organization turns away people in genuine need. It's not just disappointing—it’s unethical.
