Personally, I loved my experience at Matt Talbot for women. Between the food that was good for a treatment center that is just there to get you back on your feet and the lovely RA’s I felt welcomed and at a comfortable place to restart my life. I believe people don’t realize that once you bring yourself into a treatment center you’re giving your life over to the care of people that are just there to help you get sober, but at Matt Talbot they do so much more than that. I got a sense of family friendship and peer support. I want to give a special shout out to the RA’s Ms.Shannon, Ms.Lacie, Ms.Robyn, Ms.Arnetha, Ms.Ashely, Mr.Jerry, Ms.Gloria and more. No matter what time it was, they were there for me when I wanted or Needed something. If it was someone to talk to when I was feeling down or just a pen to write in my journal if it was a volleyball game to play outside or to listen to music on the speaker, they did it with a smile on their face and no hesitation. Not only were the RA’s Delightful And like a family to me, the counselors and group facilitators were also amazing. To name a few Ms.Dorlene was one of the best people to do groups with, my counselor Ms.Jill Was very supportive and a great listener. Ms.Liandre was also great with her groups and a very strong woman who was fair to everyone and gave us candy. Ms.Erin I didn’t work with personally, but she did a good group with Ms.Jill. Same with Mr.Charlie I didn’t personally work with him but he did a good group and was fun to be around. Long story short if your looking for help to get sober In a clean environment with a sense of family And supportMatt Talbot is the place to go.

As a former patient and current clientof their program, I can honestly say that all staff members were considerate and understanding of my addiction. I spent 10 weeks in the program from July to September 2018. Upon my release, I was given the opportunity to reside in a sober living home that they chose for me based on my needs. Unfortunately, due to my inability to follow the proper guidelines of recovery, I went back to the people, places and things that they suggest you remove from your past that took me back to addiction. I relapsed in less than 30 days of being released. I reached out again to Matt Talbot and they allowed me to come back for another 10 weeks of programming. In November 2018, I entered Matt Talbot in a broken down state of mind and body and left in December 2018, a renewed and educated woman that fought for her sobriety. I highly recommend this program to anyone wanting to change their life the way it changed mine. Today, I am still clean, sober and loving my life.

I'm leaving next week for sober living. I will have been at Orca for 30 days by then. This place is amazing. This is my 5th time in rehab. The counselors, nurses, and staff are amazing. This is the only place that I have been to that I feel listened to, treated like an adult, and receive excellent information and resources. Also, they let you have your phones and allow you to go out on your own when you have been here for a week. Trust me when I say that I realized, by coming here, what my greatest stumbling block has been in staying sober. Cleveland, OH | Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, in Cleveland, Ohio, offers medical, mental health, and behavioral health care for veterans and their families. Services include medically supervised detox, dual diagnosis care, and inpatient, outpatient, and aftercare services. Dedicated programs for seniors, young adults, postpartum women, persons with hea | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I'll start with the positive. 1. We cannot believe our good fortune in finding Dr. Smilovich in Geriatrics- who helped my severely disabled father finally increase his VA benefits as he deserved after suffering silently from the impacts of Vietnam. She is the GREATEST primary care doctor that we could have ever asked for. We listen to her every word, because she creates a knowledgeable conversation with her patients and even helped us to manage a rare disease known as Myotonic Dystrophy Type 2- which has elevated risks of cardiovascular disease by using Praluent (statins are contradictory for people with this condition).
2. We love the vegan sushi in the cafeteria. We wish that the VA would add more vegan foods because my dad is in assisted living and they cannot cook whatsoever but charge top dollar to literally feed seniors only foods that will kill them quickly.
3. It took a long time to get other things sorted out like transportation- but they did it.
4. Neurology, cardiology, GI, and Audiology have all risen to the challenges that my dad is facing.
5. This VA needs serious structural and facilities upgrades- NOTHING is designed for the hearing impaired to communicate and hearing aids do not work for far too many veterans. The elevators are frequently out. We've walked into clinics with the TV blaring- drowning out any change that my dad could effectively communicate with anyone. And the lack of wheelchairs- or ability to take people in wheelchairs- let them us it for an appointment or attached a walker to it is a MAJOR problem. It was a long struggle to get him a motorized scooter and even then it was tough to figure out the transportation for him and the main street is very narrow- as are a number of the facilities.
6. We also desperately need to get customized taller wheelchairs for taller people- over 6 ft- who can not stand from a sitting position in a regular wheelchair...so we hope that Prosthetics will rise to the challenge too.
For Cleveland area, it's a decent VA- and we're grateful especially after multiple miserable experiences dealing with the Cleveland Clinic. In fact, my dad refuses to go to the Cleveland Clinic now because of the VA ....and even while their facilities need a lot of attention- their doctors and care teams are committed, caring, and have gone out of their way to help us get what he deserves because it has been a horribly long road and no matter what- he always says that the price he paid with his hearing and mobility from combat related injuries is NOT worth any amount of money or free healthcare because he was a brilliant medical researcher for his post- military career. While no one can truly compensate for multiply disabilities and deafness, they can and have succeeded in making his every day life and getting medical care easier and less stressful- and for that we really appreciate the doctors, staff, and people committed to the VA....(and NOT their contractors like Optum- who is part of United Healthcare...). ALL VA FUNDS SHOULD GO BACK TO SUPPORTING DOCTORS AND ADMIN AND FACILITIES OF THE VA- not outsourcing. Outsourcing = corporations stealing the money that WE THE VETERANS EARNED.

Edit: I am now with Roxanne and I cannot praise her enough. She is attentive, personable, down to earth, and kind. Funny too, which is just the thing I need. The counselors I have had were all great. Ellie has been excellent in guiding me. Fred listens to my concerns. And Tina the receptionist is kind and understanding.

Parking is difficult. It needs better signage. You can get lost in the shuffle because it is so busy. However, the emergency unit is top notch for truma. If you are in an accident this is the place to go.
