About Praxis of Cleveland by Landmark Recovery

Praxis of Cleveland by Landmark Recovery is a drug and alcohol rehab in Euclid, Ohio. In this suburb of Cleveland, the rehab is on a beautiful campus near Lake Erie where you’ll feel right at home.

This rehab is mostly known for its residential program for alcohol or drug addiction. The program is customized for each person so you’ll work with the staff to make a personalized treatment plan. You’ll get comprehensive treatment with group therapy and individual counseling along with mindfulness and meditation and other holistic therapies. If it’s appropriate for your case they can also use medications to reduce cravings and withdrawal. Plus you’ll take educational classes about addiction and health and wellness to help you learn how to maintain your sobriety after you leave.

You might not be ready to jump right into residential rehab though. A lot of people start with detox and Praxis of Cleveland has a great medical detox program too. There’s medical staff there 24/7 to make sure you’re safe and give you medications and other techniques to soothe your symptoms. After your detox you can go right into your residential program.

What can you expect to see at this rehab? It’s a huge 56,000 square feet facility, but they only have 60 clients at a time. That way, you’ll still get plenty of attentive and personalized care. There are amenities like fitness equipment, a ping pong table, a volleyball court, and a beautiful courtyard.

As much as clients love the facility itself though, they really rave about the program. They love that the staff really are experts in what they do and that they taught them a lot about themselves and their triggers, about addiction and about ways to maintain their sobriety.

This place is absolutely disgusting!!! I went November 2024 stayed 1 night didn't get any sleep the lady beside me was snoring so badly and loud she would quit breathing for minutes at a time and said they wouldn't allow her to have her sleep apena machine there. So many mentally disabled people being drugged up over medicated whichever just to keep them there for the 30 days to get their funding. I tried to stay I did but 24hrs they wouldn't give me the meds I brought from home. they wouldn't allow me to call for a ride when I said I wanted to leave they wouldn't give me my phone to call for a ride. I live 2 hours away. I asked to leave they wouldn't show me to a door that opened to the outside I ended up setting off 3 different fire alarms thankfully one girl who had been there awhile showed me a way out through a fire door. they tried counselor to counselor to director to talk me out of leaving telling me I was entering withdrawal (fentanyl) which I was already 3 days in when I went telling me if I left I would just go use..not the case. after I left I ran to the gas station across the street that guy let me use a phone and to sit therr I had no shoes no coat freezing cold and raining out hadn't ate or slept waited there for 2hrs for my ride to pick me up. NOT ONE TIME DID ANY STAFF CHECK ON ME IN MY ROOM. NOT ONCE! also during that time at the gas station another girl escaped and ran over to the gas station to get out of there too. the gas station guy said they have women there DAILY running from that place and that if I needed him to he would go to court for me to say exactly what he sees daily. this is my 24 hour experience also I'd like to say I went home sick cause they never gave me suboxone I should've gotten...I was sick all weekend and Monday morning I went to Brightview and have had nothing but positive help and success with them. sober since Nov 19th. even though that entire situation and this March will make my 3rd shot on subucaid. NO thanks to praxis for sure all that place did was add to my mental trama. do not send anyone you love there...please.

I'm a 63 year old handicapped man, who just left this hell hole. Was lied to by staff about it being handicap accessible. No saftey bars in toilet. The showers have no safety seats. They took my OTC non narcotic cold medicine from me, and now I have a severe ear infection from no medication. The staff bullies and flat out lies to you daily. And to top it off they forced me to stay another day when I didn't want to. I was made to wait in outer lobby, for 5 hours to retrieve my things in a passive aggressive move from staff. They were angry, because I wanted to leave. Then upon inspecting my belongings, a 50$ pair of hair clippers w attachments were missing. So after a horrible miserable 5 days, they stole from me. The place is dirty the staff is ignorant and hostile, and they make you feel senile with no dignity. STAY THE HELL AWAY from this nuthouse

The absolute worst I wanna stay sober to never risk going back. They over medicated me and wouldn't allow me to use a phone to call a ride when I wanted to leave I had to walk in 9 degree weather to find a phone to call my family to get home. While some workers genuinely care the majority here do not

Accepted Insurance

Praxis of Cleveland by Landmark Recovery works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs offer robust wraparound care for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care, with many facilities providing multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient programming. Clients may also elect to enroll in outpatient care immediately after completing inpatient detox. Those who are at lower risk of withdrawal complications may also choose to receive ambulatory medical detox from an outpatient facility. Outpatient programs typically involve addiction counseling, recovery education, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as art and music therapy, are commonly available.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
During initial recovery, withdrawal from alcohol, opiates, and benzodiazepines can involve high health risk. Attempting detox outside of 24-hour clinical care in Ohio is not recommended. This can be life-threatening because medical staff are not available to treat severe symptoms of withdrawal that often occur. Such symptoms can include seizures, delirium tremens, and extreme dehydration. In a clinical setting, staff are on-site to immediately care for your physical, emotional, and mental health needs.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy helps with detox and drug rehab treatment in Ohio. This treatment gives you the skills you need to develop healthy eating habits, which help you recover more quickly and maintain long term sobriety.

Recreational therapy supports recovery from drug and alcohol addiction by providing you with enjoyable activities that improve your physical and mental health. When you engage in sports, creative arts, and nature excursions, it helps reduce your cravings and stress levels while building a supportive community of peers who can help promote your long term sobriety.

We are a vendor who hasn't been paid for services provided in 2023. We provided Landmark Recovery in Cleveland with emergency nurse staffing and they have failed to pay us. They don't respond to emails, you can't get through to anyone at corporate. Very disappointing. Would not recommend doing any type of business with them.

One of the worst experiences of my life. My counselor suggested I go to this place. I was told to take my prescribed medication with me That is needed for epilepsy. Once I got there, they took all my meds away from me refused to treat me in any kind of way medically. When I bagged and tried to leave, they told me my insurance would drop me if I did they would not let me contact my spouse or my child. 3 days later Once I start going into seizures, they dropped me off at the hospital and never heard from them again. We had to go back to gather my bag of clothes that took hours, and they did not give me back the medication’s. I took with me. Very rude staff that was not helpful at all.
