When I found myself entering this treatment center, I had absolutely nothing going for me. A year later, I got my son home, my fiance and I both got clean TOGETHER, we both have full time jobs, 2 cars, a beautiful home and our families back. I feel like the staff was kind and caring both to myself and my child. Everyone from the receptionist to the nurses were very compassionate about a difficult situation. I liked that in a caring way they made my child get up everyday and do things other than laying in bed. While one would never want to choose to come here it’s a great place to come for needed acute mental health care. It will be our first choice going forward should it be needed again.

I had to write a review just for that girls tantrum about Sarah. I’ve seen her for 5 years and went from agoraphobia to social anxiety. Progress doesn’t happen over night therapy is a process and calling her a prissy princess is so embarrassing for you. You obviously need some healing and sorry this place wasn’t right for you. Sarah (my counselor) is the best, she has helped me get through so many difficult periods of my life and has truly helped me better myself in more ways than one. (Every one goes by first names) and he has made me more outspoken. I'm am a really shy person when it comes to people I don't know.
I also have a psychiatrist named Fabian, and compared to the psychiatrists I had before he is really good. He actually listens to me and is very understanding. He doesn't give me just any medicine. He takes his job seriously and I love that because I had doctor that didn't care about his job and prescribed me the wrong meds and refused to change it once I told him I don't feel like myself taking these medications.

I spent a few years in counseling with Joe. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I see there are several 1 star reviews and I am sure they have valid complaints, but I don’t believe that’s a good representation of this institution. I know there are many people they have helped. Often times people only point out the bad you do while the good goes unnoticed. I have highly recommended this place to my family and friends. You always have to be careful about who you trust. But I believe this is good place to look for help.

I came here all the way from New York, as I’m originally from Youngstown and needed to get away from my surroundings for a bit and have a hard reset.
Left treatment today and had a really nice experience here. The staff is super friendly and nice and have a lot of experience with addiction and treatment. As well, the counselors were all great and the groups were helpful.
Don’t come here if you expect to go on vacation or are simply in need of housing and are looking for a day spa that has a medical cabinet. Groups and H & I are a collective seven hours a day (morning, break, afternoon, break, evening) and attendance is expected.
All things said, made some friends, got about as sober as anyone could get in a month, and learned that I’m still apparently really very terrible at basketball. Would recommend.

The Staff at First Step Recovery are phenomenal. I've been in First Steps programs since Oct. Of 2024, and at each level of care I've had the best treatment from staff. I was in patient from detox to phase 1, and from there to IOP and beyond. And at each level I've come to care for the staff more and more, because they cared. And I'm stronger in my recovery more and more every day because of them.
