About New Season – Duval County Treatment Center

New Season Treatment Center – Duval is a drug and alcohol addiction treatment facility in Jacksonville, Florida. They provide outpatient drug detoxification and medication assisted treatment for opioid use disorders, as well as counseling. They accept insurance, private pay, Medicare, Medicaid, and VA payments for veterans.

This place provides convenient and helpful access to FDA approved medications like methadone, Suboxone, and buprenorphine. Each medication has its own way of countering the effects of withdrawal pains and side effects at the site of the opioid receptor itself. Counseling brings new insights and ways of coping with life challenges without turning to illicit or recreational drug use.

The center gets a lot of positive comments and love from former and current patients. Some people have said that the new director has really made a positive impact on the overall performance and professionalism, and that they appreciated the reduced police presence, which was a previous deterrent and common concern of clinics of this type. One veteran said he appreciated that he was able to receive treatment there through federal funding, which saved him a lot of money.

My personal experience here has been horrible. In 3 years here I have had 4 counselors, or just not had one. My previous counselor has just left, and I guess he decided he just wasn't going to do any work at all for the last 6 weeks. I arrived yesterday morning with several holds on my account to learn my new counselor, isn't at work that early. Another counselor tried to help me, and I was under the impression my holds were removed and I was good to go, but I would have to touch base with my new counselor sometime yesterday. Getting to the window, after waiting for 50 minutes to find out I still had a hold on my account and couldn't dose. My new counselor had arrived and I ended up waiting for another 10 minutes for the director to come in and tell me he couldn't help me. When I finally get to meet my new counselor I'm informed my paperwork is months out of date, and it's going to have to be redone before I can get my take home medicine for the week. It ended up taking so long I had to leave without dosing, and was a liar about being there for as long as I was because the computer told her I wasn't on hold anymore. The director doesn't manage the counselors, the Engage app only works correctly 75 percent of the time, and no one cares about you personally. I've never been so disrespected at a medical facility, and I don't understand how this place has a rating higher than 2 stars. Save your time and patience and find someplace that's ran better and more professionally. I'm now stuck here until I can find a way to transfer and not have to loose my take home medicine for any amount of time.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I recommend not going to this clinic unless you have to due to poverty or insurance issues. Most of the employees are rude and lack the people skills needed to work in this field. The wait times are stupid long and they're even longer for those of us with phases. They're short staffed and forgotten about by their corporate owner. I have been here since 2019 and I regret it everyday but I am one that doesn't have an option. If you do, I would go to a non New Season affiliated clinic or at least not this one. God bless

I have had a good experience at this clinic, my councilor is great, usually in and out avg 10 min wait for dose, update on my POST. Was at this clinic for almost 5 years, lost my job so lost my insurance and these clinics are totally for profit, no money, no dose, needless to say after 2 weeks of being dope sick ready to die went to the ER and got more from the doctor than this clinic who are nothing but legal drug dealers, again no money no dose. Would highly advise people to see their own doctor and you can get suboxan for $87.00 a month vs $500.00 a month in these shut holes who really don't give a shit if we are lying in the street dying.

I have been to many different clinics before this one is a cut above the rest . Eddie is the director there and what he has done with this place is a blessing he treats people the way they want to be treated and cares. His ideas and changes that he has made were hands down very much appreciated and done well and has made my time there a very special one. Eddie thanks for your work and continued work to make this a welcoming place for all.
