Cynthia Clark is really helpful therapist---Breanna and Emmanuel good for med management/Psychiatry. I have been a patient for 15 years and they have helped me to see that I am not my diagnosis, but I do have a diagnosis. My dad and I didn't want to believe that I was severely mentally ill at first, but the more I accepted my illness as reality and my new normal, the more that the Drs and counselors are able to help me live a better quality life and still function as normally as possible. I see my diagnosis as a blessing in that it helps me to learn more about myself and in the process, help other people going through the same thing. Sometimes healing is a process and does not happen instantly, but I am able to cope better with all of the tools and support that I am receiving from family, friends and medical staff. Ive been with gateway close to two years now, and never once did I feel unwelcomed or unappreciated. Even when I switched my primary counselor, it never felt the same as the amazing women in gateway. The receptionist are always so sweet and will work with you to help sort iut appointments quick and easy. The counselors have my heart as well, they listen and understand me in ways I didn't think was possible. I wouldn't want to go to any other counseling office after gateway.

The main strength in this treatment facility are the prevention program options that are available. Recovery and sobriety are not a one program fits all type of success story. Each client can take part in a program that is specific to what they may need to work on. Absolutely amazing team there. And then when you move over to Beaches, Elizabeth is the best therapist, constantly advocating and fighting for us..and the house techs Jennifer, Dawn and Sydney truly care and help with any and all that you need. So I’m hoping this is my last treatment center. Tides gave me what I needed when I needed it. I initially thought after 9 days I’d go home. As we do I thought that would be enough. The staff was smart and let me decide and gently pushed me in the direction of staying longer. I ended up doing 21 days but had planned to stay for 28. Unfortunately my insurance said it wasn’t medically necessary to stay past 21 days. The group sessions at the detox part of tides were good I really liked my counselor. When/if you go to the other tides which is a lower level of care that’s when the more intensive therapy starts. I think this is perhaps a unique approach when we first arrive in treatment we dont necessarily need to be thrust into deep therapy conversations were more than likely detoxing and need to heal more than anything. The reason why it’s 4 stars and not 5 is cause of the food. Some of my meals weren’t even edible. They cater them in and they really are mostly bad. You won’t starve I did find other options for me but just would’ve been better if the food wasn’t so bad. Either way we find something to get a resentment at and it really just takes one resentment to justify leaving early so I tried to be conscious aware of that. I truly appreciate everyone I came into contact with at tides from the staff to the clients and again I plan on this being my last treatment center but that will only happen if I remember that I just gotta stay sober for today.

These people saved me, my family, and restored my faith in treatment. From Day 1 Salvatore Fuentes and the SLA program welcomed me and understood me. They never judged me or made me feel inadequate. Sober Living America changed everything for me.
When I arrived, I was a shell of the person I used to be—exhausted, broken, and drowning in addiction. I had burned bridges, lost trust, and couldn’t see a future beyond the next fix. I didn’t walk through those doors with hope. I walked in with desperation.

I am so grateful for Gateway, and the amazing staff there. From the staff at detox, to residential llrehab, down to the front desk & providers for out-patient, they are all an amazing part of my recovery. Good experience... Staff have lived thorugh it so they can really help you. Felt safe and supported. Solid programs, including outpatient options. They could communicate with families better and answer more questions during intake, though.
