My child loves the social group here. They work on age appropriate skills for building relationships with peers. My child's confidence and ability to be assertive have increased. The billing department has also been great to work with. Overall, it has been a great experience.

Being taking my daughter for almost a year now and her O.T therapist Ms. Brooke is absolutely amazing with her she is very attentive and helps her meet all her goals and things she needs and wants to achieve. If you are looking for a O.T therapist I highly recommend Ms. Brooke. She will give your child the tools they need to help make your child strive and will also help give tools to help your child at home she is one of the best therapists I have ever seen.

Levels of Care

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

I had a very disappointing and concerning experience at this center. I brought my 5-year-old son in for an evaluation, and during the process, I was asked a series of personal and sensitive questions about him directly in front of him—starting with “What are your concerns with him?” I found this extremely inappropriate. Speaking about a child’s difficulties in their presence, as if they’re not listening, can be very damaging to their self-esteem and sense of safety. When I returned to receive the report, I was told my son had to be present because “he is the patient.” I explained that I was not willing to discuss his challenges in front of him, and that as his mother, I have a responsibility to protect his emotional well-being. Although they did provide the written report, they said they could not explain it or answer any in-depth questions unless my son was present. I was also told that after each session, feedback about what was done in therapy is shared with parents—but again, only in the presence of the child. There is no private space or time for parents to talk openly with the therapists without the child being there, which I find deeply problematic. When I expressed my concerns, I was told that I was the only parent who had ever brought this up, which was even more alarming. To me, this reflects a lack of psychological insight and a poor understanding of child development. Children deserve to feel safe and supported, and parents should be able to communicate freely with professionals about their child’s needs. In my opinion, this center lacks the appropriate training and trauma-informed practices required to truly support children’s growth. I sincerely hope they reconsider their approach for the sake of the children and families they serve.

Mrs. Muci, We apologize that your experience with us did not meet your expectations. We hope the conversation you had with our assistant manager eased some of the tension and cleared up any confusion on our policies and why they are in place. It is never our intention to speak negatively about any of our patients and/or their families by asking what parental concerns are—instead, we aim to focus on those concerns in our evaluations to assist as possible. We also aim to have children present and active in the conversation, as well, when appropriate. We do ask many questions during our initial evaluations, as is necessary to obtain a full and honest picture of each patient’s life to date. These questions are never asked in judgement, but simply to help us better understand each child’s needs. As was discussed, it is our policy that children be present for all evaluations and treatment sessions, including our follow-up appointment, for billing purposes—just as physicians charge for consultations in which children are present when they are the patient. Without the child present at the time of the follow-up appointment, we provide a printed copy of the report complete with the evaluating therapist’s contact information you can utilize if you have further questions. Feedback regarding treatment sessions most often focuses on what was addressed in the session that day, as well as home programs to assist toward current goals, if the parent is not present for the full treatment session. We absolutely agree that everyone deserves to feel safe and supported, patients and families included, and parents are always allowed to speak with our providers privately when necessary. We have attempted to remedy this situation by offering to have another family member or one of our technicians present for a rescheduled follow-up appointment so that your child is present on-site but does not have to be present in the room throughout the discussion of the results of the initial evaluation. We understand your declination at this time, and we appreciate your feedback. We hope for the best for you and your family, and we regret that our policies do not align with your expectations. If there is anything you need from us going forward, please do not hesitate to reach out.

We always loved therapy works for occupational therapy. Unfortunately years ago scheduling didn't work out so we had to let them go. So thankful to be able to come back to them and get support.

Disappointed. Could not get an appointment because they would not accept our referral from our orthopedic specialist. They only accept referrals from a primary care physician. Was not going to waste time trying to get into a PCP when we had already seen a specialist for the issue.

Courtney, we can understand why this would be frustrating. It is our policy that a referral must come from a primary care physician, but your situation qualifies as a time we can make an exception. Please give us a call back if you are interested in scheduling an appointment.

The clinic is clean and spacious. The therapists are friendly and you can tell they enjoy working with children. The business office and receptionists are helpful. Management truly cares about their employees and patients.
