Not impressed with this place. Had a love one get an eval done and was told needed inpatient treatment. Now we have been given the run around as to when that is going to be. Told by the head director guy it would be probably three weeks before we get the call a bed has opened up. It has now been over a month. My impression is that this place does not actually care to help. Go somewhere else that will not give you the run around and false information.

My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. The program will work for you if your honest with yourself and do the work. Good luck and god bless!

Accepted Insurance

Bryan Independence Center works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. This program includes a combination of one-two hour groups, individual sessions and family sessions. Group sessions typically will occur once per week. Individual sessions typically occur one-two times per month. Family sessions are scheduled as needed.
inpatient iconInpatient
Inpatient rehabs primarily serve clients who are transitioning out of detox and those who are at a heightened risk of relapse, including those with a history of recurrence. Clients in inpatient treatment receive multiple counseling sessions per week using a variety of psychotherapeutic approaches, including CBT, DBT, RBT, and motivational interviewing. Relapse prevention is also prioritized and many programs feature recovery-focused life skills training. Some facilities also offer holistic therapies, such as meditation and yoga.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). This program includes a three-hour per day program involving groups, lectures, individual sessions, family care and family sessions. This Intensive Outpatient program involves treatment five days per week.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs ensure clients receive a complete continuum of care after completing high-level treatment in a detox center or inpatient rehab. Clients typically partner with their case manager and care team to outline their specific recovery needs and goals. Rehab aftercare services are often highly customized and designed to evolve as clients progress in their recovery. Standard services include outpatient treatment and peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction following outpatient care.
12-step icon12-Step
Counseling is based around the 12-step model and the disease of addiction which addresses how our bodies and brains respond to addictive chemicals. Clients are taught new coping skills to prepare them for dealing with emotions, relapse-prevention and addictive behaviors. The Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous has been a proven benefit to those seeking recovery from addictions, in part because of the focus on looking at the reality of one's life and determining how things could be improved if certain efforts are made. The additional benefit of 12-step programs is the support of other individuals also seeking recovery. Attendance of 12-step meetings is an important part of treatment.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
As a form of intensive rehab, a partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides treatment to those who don't require 24-hour care. PHP treatment serves as a short-term alternative to inpatient or step-down after a residential program. With a partial hospitalization program, you'll participate in 6-8 hours of support for up to 5 days a week. While commuting is necessary, some programs offer telehealth options for virtual participation. The duration of your PHP treatment depends on your needs, averaging 90 days.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
This is recommended for clients who are medically unstable and unable to attend programming. Length of stay averages from one to five days with 24-hour care. Includes daily physician visits and intense medical monitoring by nursing staff. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

During drug rehab in Nebraska, you'll participate in therapies that address the many issues that contribute to addiction. Treatment includes physical, mental, emotional, and relational aspects. These methods provide the tools you need to achieve long-term recovery.

They recognize that individuals suffering from substance use problems may also suffer from other mental illnesses, which requires proper assessment, diagnosis and treatment. They focus on integrated treatment of the whole person and offer programming to help people who need both substance use and mental health care. Their interdisciplinary team includes counselors, nurses, a teacher, spiritual counselor, mental health technicians, psychiatrists and mental health practitioners.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

The premise of dialectical behavior therapy is that many problems are due to a lack of skills to properly handle them. This therapy aims to give you the skills to manage your emotions and challenging situations so you can live a healthier, productive life.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Often used to address addiction in Nebraska, motivational interviewing helps you become motivated to change. Research shows this method is effective for clients who are unprepared for change or feel unmotivated to change.

Within trauma therapy, you're able to work through the memories of a traumatic event within a safe and supportive environment. Your therapist will guide you to develop healthy coping mechanisms that reduce the emotional impact of the trauma and improve your overall well being.

Family/Parent Support Group is a service the Bryan Independence Center offers to support families and parents of individuals experiencing substance use and addiction issues. You do not need to be involved with services at the Bryan Independence Center to attend. The group is available to all families and parents in the community free of charge. No registration is necessary. Participants may have a family member already in substance use counseling or they may have just discovered that their family member is having substance use issues.

When you are ready, you are ready. I did three rehabs in the span of three summers and I’ve been sober a year and a half since going to the Independence Center. The ENTIRE staff wass genuinely interested in my recovery. Of course it’s up to me how honest I want to be with my counselor, Chaplin and myself (and God), but their unwavering encouragement doesn’t hurt and it didn’t. The facility is much better than others I’ve been to in Nebraska and they keep the distracting extracurricular horseplay to minimum. They have a great culture and alumni in the A.A. and Lincoln communities.
