My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. The program will work for you if your honest with yourself and do the work. Good luck and god bless!

When you are ready, you are ready. I did three rehabs in the span of three summers and I’ve been sober a year and a half since going to the Independence Center.
The ENTIRE staff wass genuinely interested in my recovery. Of course it’s up to me how honest I want to be with my counselor, Chaplin and myself (and God), but their unwavering encouragement doesn’t hurt and it didn’t. The facility is much better than others I’ve been to in Nebraska and they keep the distracting extracurricular horseplay to minimum. They have a great culture and alumni in the A.A. and Lincoln communities.

I was taken to the ER by my boss when I started having trouble talking at work. Unfortunately it was a busy morning at the ER and I had to wait over half an hour to be taken back and examined. When a CT scan revealed blood on my brain they transferred me to Bryan West where the trauma unit is located. I was seen by many specialists. They explained that I had a small brain bleed and why I was having my strange symptoms.

I was recently hospitalized for a relatively minor medical condition. The company I work for has an arduous process for returning to work after being laid off for medical reasons.
I desperately needed to be seen on short notice so that I could return to work. The staff at the Lincoln V.A. worked with me diligently. My primary care physician, Sasha Grantski, went above and beyond her normal duties to "squeeze" me in for an appointment.
Thanks to her and the Lincoln V.A. staff, I am back to work. I am extremely grateful.

Since day one Blue Valley has been a Godsend! I was at my rock bottom and couldnt have asked for a better referral. I highly advocate now to all my frienda and family. Seeing a therapist isnt just for those that are in a slump its honestly a place to escape and just talk. My therapist, Jen is absolutely the sweetest most gentle, kind and amazing listener. She has genuinely heard me rant, we also share stories about family.. she is a true angel in my book.im forever grateful for her in my healing process. My kids all want to come just because they have seen how much it has changed me for the better of the healing process. I'm more open now with my loved ones and even friends and neighbors. I now advocate for mental health awareness, don't wait til it's too late...go and see any of these theraapists at Blue valley in wahoo. But honestly ask for Jen shes my favorite ❤️ my youngest daughter has also seen Jen and is now seeing Michelle. And she was so excited after her last therapy appt she is excited to come back. I encourage it to be a safe place to just talk about anything that they don't want to talk to anyone else about. Its a safe space.

Amazing place for long term treatment, caring and passionate residential managers. The staff at the pmc house are awesome, it’s a very positive environment for the mother and child to grow and learn together. I absolutely love nebraska mental health centers in lincoln. my therapist is amazing, as well is my med provider and the rest of the staff. they give me reminder calls, are always friendly, and provide quick responses and solutions. if I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. never felt like my mental health was in better hands than with NMHC. thank you all for all that you do!!!!!!

The recovery center saved my life. Curtis and Lori both really took the time to help me see myself and work through things on a personal level. They are both very educated in alcohol and drug recovery and helped me gain the tools I needed to be successful in my own recovery. They both are extremely patient and kind and they love what they do! Openly admitted myself on my accord, thinking I could leave any time if I didn't like it. Was skeptical at first about addiction counselling, but after two sessions, I learned more about myself than I possibly could with any other counselors I've seen in the past. The staff is courteous, respectful, caring, and most of all, passionate. If you want to get help, and get better, this place is where it's at.
