This was my first visit. I had interactions with one receptionist two technicians, and one medical doctor. All of them were highly professional in the performance of their duties, displaying great knowledge, and providing a very cordial, welcoming, and reassuring atmosphere. Not to diminish from the other people's reviews but this place legitimately saved my life.
I got sent to ABH in 2006 2 days before my 15th Bday. I was angry, did any sort of mind alerting chemicals I could find, my family was scared of me but more importantly I was scared of myself. I agree the punishments were rough but that's exactly what I needed to open my eyes. Ms Aron helped with childhood trama that I had held on to for so incredibly long. in my eyes my life started the day I walked through those doors. If I want to think every single member of staff, even the skinny blond lady I despised so much. Thank you all for having a hand in saving my life.

My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. The program will work for you if your honest with yourself and do the work. Good luck and god bless!

When you are ready, you are ready. I did three rehabs in the span of three summers and I’ve been sober a year and a half since going to the Independence Center.
The ENTIRE staff wass genuinely interested in my recovery. Of course it’s up to me how honest I want to be with my counselor, Chaplin and myself (and God), but their unwavering encouragement doesn’t hurt and it didn’t. The facility is much better than others I’ve been to in Nebraska and they keep the distracting extracurricular horseplay to minimum. They have a great culture and alumni in the A.A. and Lincoln communities.

Had a medical emergency I’m from out of town. They took amazing care of me. I had to stay overnight because I needed surgery the next day. Unfortunately their hospital was full and they kept me in the emergency room. They went above and beyond for me!! Managed my pain with compassion and understanding. I checked myself into touchstone in 2017 I was so nervous but they all welcomed me with open arm's they were all so nice. They other people were younger than me and I was okay with that we all got a long and helped each other. I have been seeing Cindy Ridegway at Capstone for over 1 year. She has helped me significantly with my work/life/family balance. I love that she is "old school" and very knowledgeable! She truly has a passion for her profession and you can tell she cares. I'm able to be so transparent with her and not feel judged or shamed. I went to the treatment center at Zion in Clarinda. It was the best experience. The staff was amazing. The building was clean. They made sure you were always taken care of. They helped me tremendously. I felt like a new person after 28 days. I HIGHLY recommend this facility to anyone taking the step to recovery. My personal experience was AWESOME.
