All of the staff at Burgess Health Center were outstanding with their patient care. They took great care of me from the moment I walked in the door. They addressed my concerns and gave a very thorough examination. They treated me with the kind of care that one would feel from a high end spa. I was going to this place for... most of my life technically. Anxiety related. I'm currently 30 and my first appointment was with Judy Connor when I was in elementary (yes, that long ago). I missed an appointment when I was in the hospital. Probably missed a few over the years. Guess I'm not allowed to be a patient there anymore. It is what it is. That's on me. No hard feelings. So why did I take a star off?
After Albert left I was set up with this Dr. Chau guy and as others in the reviews have stated, he tried to change my medication after the first appointment and is personally... what I would describe as an unpleasant individual to be around. It's only my mental health, might as well switch it up, even though I was doing well and only really needed refills... Yeah, so after sucking every ounce of positivity from the room with charisma uncomfortably absent and awkward eye contact he told me he doesn't prescribe my anxiety medication. He's one of those doctors that doesn't prescribe benzos or something. I can only conclude it's his personal bias about a group of medication (that actually work) being more important than the mental and overall well-being of others... Despite the last couple months I was going here being a negative experience, this place was pretty great overall. Still have untreated anxiety and can't really function. Oh well, guess this is just my life now.
Oh, yeah... The pharmacy and front desk are amazing. Seriously. They're super friendly and always remembered my name and they would call to reminded me to refill. Pretty cool that the pharmacy is in the same building now. I wouldn't mind being a patient here again if they had a Doctor like Albert. If you're hesitant. I'd say go for it. Just don't miss any appointments.

I’ve been coming to SLMH for years and they’ve always been super helpful, understanding and kind. I have to give a shoutout to Melissa, she goes above and beyond and commits to being her true authentic self. I’m super grateful for Ricardo as well. He’s knowledgeable in so many areas, and I think anyone who starts appointments off at a personal level truly understands what one might be going through. I’m an actual patient that has been coming here for almost a decade, and honestly, I don’t know where I’d be without this place. My psychiatrist, therapist, nurses, community support, and support staff have helped me through so much since moving to Sioux City. I always feel heard and supported, and I never feel rushed or judged. Getting my meds refilled is always quick and easy, and whenever I’ve needed referrals for other help, it’s been super smooth. Everyone I’ve seen here over the years has been kind, caring, and truly wants to help. I’m really grateful for all they’ve done for me. If you’re struggling or thinking about getting help, I can’t recommend this place enough. Mental health is important, and this is a great place to take that first step.

Chief medical Charles Tilly is my doctor who prescribes most of my medications. I went their in 2019 after going to a facility in 2019 and when I got back home I was still seeing him. But when I went to spirit lakes facility for plains area... it was horrible. But we ain't talking about plains area spirit lake we talking about le Mars iowa plains area. Anyways... my doctor before I went to Charles tilly I was basically I was put on a good amount of medications and it was awful x.x but until I saw Charles tilly, he said to me that my main goal is to put you on less medications as possible. Also with my last recent visit via zoom, he said that he knows I don't do well in hospitals and he just wants me to stay right where I am. That's with my good mother. Plus he knows alot about natives. (I don't know how though) But when I get so nervous before an appointment with him, and when the appointment comes he talks in a very calming way and for some reason I can open up to him and I'm super calm. Like being nervous to calm in an instant. I don't know how he does his magical powers but he does. To be honest... I think he has a gift spiritually. Also he's a really good doctor for medications. Also my therapist Angela Nilles is a cool beans therapist. I love her so much. ^-^

I love Plains in LeMars. When I moved out here 11years ago, I was having trouble finding someone to help with my meds. I became a patient of another well known facility in the area that over medicated me. I couldn't function anymore. So my regular doctor recommended "PA Tilley" as she called him. PA Tilley literally saved my life! I would recommend him in a heart beat. When I moved back home in 2014 I pretty much moved back out here in 2017 for a couple of reasons and PA Tilley was one of them. His "cocktail" as I call it worked for me and other docs wanna to mess with it. Nobody messes with my cocktail! 😉 Thanks PA Tilley, I enjoy coming to see you and love having a fellow East Coast native who understands me!!

I was recently hospitalized for a relatively minor medical condition. The company I work for has an arduous process for returning to work after being laid off for medical reasons.
I desperately needed to be seen on short notice so that I could return to work. The staff at the Lincoln V.A. worked with me diligently. My primary care physician, Sasha Grantski, went above and beyond her normal duties to "squeeze" me in for an appointment.
Thanks to her and the Lincoln V.A. staff, I am back to work. I am extremely grateful.

I was at my last time I almost from prescribed by a well known Dr in iowa who caused me to go from fentanyl to heroin and now I'm in recovery . I was prescribed very amount of oxys to get off fentanyl 100 mch patch every other . I convised the Dr my body absorbed it faster then a normal person and that happens to 1 in 200 people would absorb fentanyl faster then then normal the agreed I was to changing every 48 instead of 72 hrs . when I came into baart I was trying to put it off but I couldn't after my last dose of oxys then I had no choice or be deathly ill ask I went into baaet after iso I called the counselor and said I need to make it in the thing scared me was I just using heroin and the only reason I used it was cause to the withdrawal from fentanyl was that seeks out heroin cause there stronger then fentanyl. shows that a person who would do drugs like that unless phacuidicanlg

I’ve been a patient here since 2016. My life is completely different and will continue to be thanks to the offering of medication assisted sobriety. The number one priority is you communicate with your counselor and the Doctor. Once you reach the dose your body needs the real changes begin. No more will you have to just get through the day because you’re sick or spend your entire paycheck to try and get enough to get through another week. The staff is made up of angels. Everyone is there to help us get better and live better. If you’re sick of being sick give the program a try. They only requirements are the desire for a better life and to stop abusing.

Wilma is a fantastic support advocate and truly cares about the individuals that she is providing a service for. Most of the Techs are great and counselors seem to care a lot about residents. Nursing staff works their rear ends off to accommodate the med lines and Madeline in the kitchen is one of the warmest individuals you could ever meet with the best desserts to try and make you feel at home.

I had never been in a rehab facility before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the program worked. The staff there is amazing. They are very relatable understanding and a lot of fun to work with. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone struggling with any type of addiction. I will definitely be going back as an alumni speaker here in a few months. I think had it not been for St Gregory’s. I would’ve not been able to get my 60 day chip which I will get tomorrow! So thank you to the staff. They were all super good to me! Also, the clients have become some of my best friends. It’s amazing what can happen in such a short time as far as getting to know one another I kind of felt like it was a sorority, which I really enjoyed. If you were thinking about getting clean and sober, you should reach out to the Center as soon as you can!

This place saved my life. You get out of treatment what you are willing to put in. I did IOP and now do continuing care here. You meet people from all walks of life and it is that exact thing that helped me understand finally the psychic change necessary to avoid alcohol and grow connections with people.

I am the child of two parents who met at an AA meeting over thirty years ago. My mom and dad split when I was little because my dad was unable to defeat his demons. When I was 9 he overdosed for the final time on heroin. The last time I saw him was in prison. I’ve spent most of my twenties filling that emptiness with different substances such as alcohol, weed, painkillers, adderall, and most recently kratom. My substance abuse was destroying my relationship with my family.
I’ve always reached to something hoping to numb the pain of my reality, but currently I’m reaching for a different sort of healing. I’ve been blessed to have been put into Jason’s group. I am attending meetings three days a week and still struggle in my day to day, but I have learned that it’s okay not to always feel okay. Becoming sober has been one of the hardest things I have ever done, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. My performance at work has improved, my friendships are getting better, and I am learning to love myself. My biggest motivation to get healthy is my beautiful family. They deserve a father they can be proud of and I will continue with the program until I know I can trust myself to continue on my own.
Everyday presents its own challenges, but it is good knowing that there are people like Jason who care about what happens to me. He challenges the way I think and is one of the main reasons I decided to stick it out with the program. He is truly someone who practices what he preaches, and there is a part of me that doesn’t want to let him down.
If you have fallen victim to addiction, I promise that if you give valley hope a chance and buy into the program that you will start to like the person you see in the mirror again. I’ve hated myself for most of my life and have attempted suicide multiple times. For the first time in a long time I feel as though i can see a light at the end of the tunnel. For so long it was only darkness. I always wore a mask in public that was hiding the pain I felt in my heart. I am thankful my wife pushed me towards this program and I really want to continue towards being able to control my life and my impulses. My children deserve to have the father that I was never afforded. I don’t trust many people, but Jason has earned my respect and is ultimately why I decided to continue. I believe with his guidance and the program that valley hope provides that I will be able to stay on the path towards a better and fulfilling life. I’m not perfect and it’s possible I will make mistakes along the road to sobriety, but I do know that I will never let substances control my life again. I truly believe that. It’s okay to ask for help sometimes. Find your reason and realize that we have but one life in this beautiful world. Don’t continue to let those precious moments be stolen by a substance. Happiness comes from within, not from a bottle. If your reading this, know that there is always time to change the path. It isn’t an easy way to travel, but I have to believe that it is worth it. I’m gonna keep working towards long term sobriety for the sake of my family but also for the sake of my soul. Thank you Valley Hope

My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. The program will work for you if your honest with yourself and do the work. Good luck and god bless!

Pine Lake Behavioral Health is a breath of *fresh* air. I came here at my lowest… and from the day I came in, I knew they had my back.

Effective treatment center with decades of successful alumni who help the residents succeed. Omaha is also a great place that has plenty of 2nd chance careers and affordable living. I refer anyone that is having a tough go at giving up the alcohol/drug addiction to here.
