My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. The program will work for you if your honest with yourself and do the work. Good luck and god bless!

When you are ready, you are ready. I did three rehabs in the span of three summers and I’ve been sober a year and a half since going to the Independence Center. The ENTIRE staff wass genuinely interested in my recovery. Of course it’s up to me how honest I want to be with my counselor, Chaplin and myself (and God), but their unwavering encouragement doesn’t hurt and it didn’t. The facility is much better than others I’ve been to in Nebraska and they keep the distracting extracurricular horseplay to minimum. They have a great culture and alumni in the A.A. and Lincoln communities.

The setup is solid: they are generally open from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with dinner service starting around 4:00 p.m. It’s an awesome environment, and honestly, in some ways, I think it’s even better than the better-known spots like Matt Talbot Kitchen. What makes this place stand out: The Team: A massive shout-out to J (aka JJ). He is the heart of the operation and really keeps things running smoothly. He’s incredibly caring, and he’s always down for genuine conversation. It makes a world of difference when you’re treated like a person, not a number. Pet-Friendly Resources: This is huge. If you have a pet with you, they have an area where you can kennel your animal, and they even offer a pet food pantry. It takes a massive weight off your shoulders knowing your companion is taken care of. Comprehensive Help: They are a major hub for resources. Whether it’s clothing, food, or navigation help, they are doing the work. Important Clarification: Just to be clear for anyone reading this—The Bridge Connect is separate from The Bridge Treatment Center. This is the place for people who aren't currently in treatment or are just passing through and need support. A Final Note: This place runs on donations and the generosity of the community. They are giving so much to those of us who need it, so it is vital that we keep giving back—whether that is through donations or your time. They can always use extra volunteers. If you’re in a position to help, this is a place worth supporting.

I have nothing but great things to say about the Bridge. I came there 4/23 and graduated 7/9/2026. I came in lost and broken after having had 2.5 years clean. The counselors Tiffany, Daniel,Sira, Katlend. All taught me how to love myself and taught me the tools that I needed to get back on my road to recovery. Plus all of the RA's did a tremendous job at helping me and guiding me in the right direction. Also Colin and Brody were absolutely amazing and helpful. I am forever grateful for the Bridge to get me where I'm at now. This time is going to be better for ME!

I checked myself into touchstone in 2017 I was so nervous but they all welcomed me with open arm's they were all so nice. They other people were younger than me and I was okay with that we all got a long and helped each other. Amy was my counselor and she helped me so much I'm forever greatful for all her help with the death of my father. I'm still in contact with a few of the people and staff members on social media. This organization does wonderful things in peoples lives!! They help the homeless, addicts, alcoholics, and downtrodden recharge their lives. They support, counsel, evangelize and assist in re-establishing into the community. Many great testimonies of lives renewed by the residents who have been here. I brought them a load of food products to help with the daily meals.

I haven't personally been a patient here, but I have had several friends complete the inpatient program for substance abuse, and they all seemed to like it. I know you can still smoke cigarettes, but no cell phones the first few weeks and limited if any contact at all with the outside world. It's coed, so that probably helps people when making a decision for an inpatient facility. Especially when we're talking 30+ days or more, detoxing off any and all things good, lol! The entrance to check in is tricky to find too, it's actually on the back side, or really, it might even be the side of the building under an awning. Hit the buzzer, and someone comes to help you get checked in.

I was at my last time I almost from prescribed by a well known Dr in iowa who caused me to go from fentanyl to heroin and now I'm in recovery . I was prescribed very amount of oxys to get off fentanyl 100 mch patch every other . I convised the Dr my body absorbed it faster then a normal person and that happens to 1 in 200 people would absorb fentanyl faster then then normal the agreed I was to changing every 48 instead of 72 hrs . when I came into baart I was trying to put it off but I couldn't after my last dose of oxys then I had no choice or be deathly ill ask I went into baaet after iso I called the counselor and said I need to make it in the thing scared me was I just using heroin and the only reason I used it was cause to the withdrawal from fentanyl was that seeks out heroin cause there stronger then fentanyl. shows that a person who would do drugs like that unless phacuidicanlg

I’ve been a patient here since 2016. My life is completely different and will continue to be thanks to the offering of medication assisted sobriety. The number one priority is you communicate with your counselor and the Doctor. Once you reach the dose your body needs the real changes begin. No more will you have to just get through the day because you’re sick or spend your entire paycheck to try and get enough to get through another week. The staff is made up of angels. Everyone is there to help us get better and live better. If you’re sick of being sick give the program a try. They only requirements are the desire for a better life and to stop abusing.
