I haven't personally been a patient here, but I have had several friends complete the inpatient program for substance abuse, and they all seemed to like it. I know you can still smoke cigarettes, but no cell phones the first few weeks and limited if any contact at all with the outside world. It's coed, so that probably helps people when making a decision for an inpatient facility. Especially when we're talking 30+ days or more, detoxing off any and all things good, lol! The entrance to check in is tricky to find too, it's actually on the back side, or really, it might even be the side of the building under an awning. Hit the buzzer, and someone comes to help you get checked in.

My councilor Angie saved my life. I don’t get how she handles so many patients yet remembers everything going on in my life if it hadn’t been for her I wouldn’t be going there specially since BART took over they have changed the place for the absolute worst. coming into NOVA i struggled a whole lot. I hated nova with a passion i didn't want to open up i was constantly keeping my guard up. I hated people i was very very distant in the community i would get mad at the smallest things and cuss people out over little stuff. I've now have been able to control my anger and process through my truama slowly but surely, and if it wasn't for all of the four communities i have been in with all of the staff i probrobly wouldnt have made it as far as i have came. It wasn't easy but it was worth every second,every minute, every hour, and every single day that I was offered a chance to live a different way. Wow were do I start. I came to Nova September 19th 2024. I had been lost for so long and holding on to things that did nothing for me. At Nova I was able to find my true self to understand that even the way I held a conversation with my friends were wrong I was able to break codes and old habits that I lived by for so long. It was all about me what am I going to put on the table and work on what is Jamie going to take responsibility for. From the Ceo to the therapist, Quality Care Cordinater and case manager the staff are truly there for the family members and I say family members cause that's what Nova TC is it's a family help men and women work on life long trauma and rebuild them from the inside out. Nova TC truly saved my life and I will forever be grateful for the things that they do there. Don't get me wrong nothing came easy but what comes easy you don't hold on too. When you work hard for something its harder to let go. And I'll hold on to the tools that Nova gave me for life and pass them on as well. Apologize for the long review but feel like I still left so much unsaid. I will close with this. The purpose for my visit here was the food pantry.
My visit was a Tuesday. The pantry was open from 3 to 6:00 p.m. I arrived at 3:45 p.m. The pantry is available to anyone. You do not have to be Catholic to visit.
Upon arrival the entrance for the food pantry was clearly marked and easy to see from the parking lot. There was ample parking and I found a spot near the door.
In the reception area of the staff were friendly. As with most pantries I expected there to be a long wait, however after I checked in it was less than 2 minutes before my name was called.
I was giving a grocery cart and the person who called my name partnered with me through the shopping experience. This person will advise you of how many items you can take from every section of the pantry.
During the shopping experience I found the facility to be clean and well organized. They had a variety of goods available including meats, dairy, breads, toiletries and even cookies.
When I was done shopping they had me sign to confirm I was receiving the goods in my cart. I was able to use the shopping cart to take all of the groceries out to my car. After loading, I took the cart back and left it but the door as I was instructed.
The whole process took less than 30 mins and I left with a back seat full of groceries.

For Therapy this place has been great! I have worked with three different therapists here and all have been professional and educated on what my needs were for each one. I am currently at the tail end of treatment that has been going for 5 years or so now. Highly recommend. Therapy here is great.

I feel like i should definitely write a post, I hope more alumni will do the same. For me the experience i had at the bridge was amazing. It's not easy living with that many women! However when it comes to the staff i believe they really do care about the people that come in. I read some of the other reviews and was shocked to see that they had that kind of experience. I don't know their situation so i won't comment on that.When I went to the bridge i was ready to change and although i might have had a few setbacks i really felt supported and cared about while i was there. It's not going to be easy it's a treatment facility there's going to be some bumps in the road.

This is a wonderful drug and alcohol treatment center for women and children. The bridge has been around for a long time in Hastings and has been located in several areas currently they are housed in a older building that I believe used to be a nursing home. It needs a lot of updates and TLC that because the bridge is funding doesn't allow it it stands as is. The bridge has been a great success rate and wonderful caring staff during and after care.

I’ve NEVER had an issue with Pawnee. I don’t know what people expect, a red carpet to be rolled out everywhere they go? I dealt with debilitating depression and anxiety and since I’ve started visiting for therapy and medication management three years ago, I’ve been doing amazingly. We’ve had to adjust me meds a few times until we doing what worked best for me. And my therapist has never been too busy when I’ve needed a call or last minute session. They always have appts available and will call you if there’s a cancellation if you can’t get it as soon as you had hoped. They’ve never changed my appointments and I’ve never had to wait an obscene amount of time to be seen. The receptionists are kind and helpful and the mental health staff are AMAZING. But you’re always going to get the angry people reviewing rather than the satisfied patients, because they have to cause a stink about everything I guess!

This organization does wonderful things in peoples lives!! They help the homeless, addicts, alcoholics, and downtrodden recharge their lives. They support, counsel, evangelize and assist in re-establishing into the community. Many great testimonies of lives renewed by the residents who have been here.

It is a rescue mission, with overnighter's and a program for those who are called to go the "extra step" in discipleship-training. Jobs are encouraged from Day 1 -- or, at least, the search for a job.
While I attended, the counselors taught from the Bible truths and examples centered upon Christ Jesus. Some of the counselor's are former addicts with good testimonies -- testimonies full of hope and promise, based upon the word of God.
The place, itself, was clean and well-ordered, not demanding nor demeaning (in my opinion). Chores were expected to be completed by the clients after supper, such as sweeping and mopping.
During my overnight stay, I met a few souls who were seeking answers in a world they hardly understand, looking for a way out of the miry clay they have discovered upon their feet, holding them down to a world they wish were past, not present -- Spiritually, based upon Christ and God's word, it is designed to be a refuge from the storm of life, a place of shelter. Individuals are welcome....families, too.

And, “24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.” (Mt 7:24-27 AV)
And, “1 ¶ I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, [and] established my goings.” (Ps 40:1-2 AV)
The Way (and Who is "the Way") out of the pit was clearly illustrated by Chaplain "Hawk" -- simple and easy to understand, with no misunderstanding of the plain text and doctrine: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (Joh 14:6 AV)

For the women's Oxford House on West State Street in Grand Island gets one star review from me. I learned a lot of things like how to figure out who's working a real program and who's not and I definitely learned how to tell sick people from healthy people and learned how to distinguish between them to better myself. Learned how to set healthy boundaries even when others tried to cross my boundaries and not give in. I learned how to focus on myself instead of letting other people affect me and my recovery. I also learned but not everybody can be saved if they don't want to be saved. Now as for the men's broadwell house they deserve a five-star from me. The men's broadwell House Oxford House rocks recovery.
