I've been here twice both on holds. They are not caring or compassionate. They separate you and isolate you and don't listen to you. They took all my sheets and clothes away when something happened to another girl in there that had nothing to do with me. Judgement from all of the staff. There is a small yard that we never get to go into both times I was there. Just awful experience both times I recommend Bryan's hospital in Lincoln it was so there. This place made things worse..

I don’t care if my name is clear to the review reader. If you love the people around you or want help yourself, absolutely do not go to this facility. There’s a better option always. They hire people who are more medicated than the average client lol. They will damage your ability to manage your disorders therefore they increase in symptoms. There’s probably some help for you if you just need someone to tell you lazy advice that probably came from a quote generator. Theres no OCD help to be had here. OCD should not be even considered as an option for these hacks to try and navigate. They are not professionals. They are just people who want a quick buck.

Im not sure how they treat patients with with Schizophrenia or those types of disorders-
But in my experience, Lewis and Clark is NOT the place to go for Anxiety or Depression.
Not counting my own experience, ive heard countless intances where folks wanting to commit suicide were treated as a JOB with very little sympathy and staff did not react to the situation as if it were an emergency.
I am not sure about the therapists, i can not speak about them.
Thumbs down 👎 for front desk help and psychiatrists who will treat you differently as you are not a "functioning member of society". This is sad to see in the Behavioral health feild.
Ive been referred to Avera Behavioral Health by a Doctor at the Yankton Health Clinic because she, too, had gotten many complaints about Lewis and Clark.

I have not been through drug rehab nor do I think that I need it? I do think that this facility is helpful I feel like the psychologists are down to earth and understanding, especially the 20+ year psychologists. They are so good that they don't have to take notes; while you are in a session. Makes it feel like you're just talking with your girlfriend, very calming.
It was court ordered that I took mandatory counseling when I was a teenager. I feel bad for my counseler, because of my demeanor, being a immature teenager. I worry she felt like our sessions were unproductive and a waste of her time.
The facility and Yankton is a little bit more tucked away it's in between the prison and Broadway street. It's not on a main road. The facility in Vermillion, South Dakota is right on Main Street. In front of the court house you cannot miss it.
