The staff truly cares about their patients and provided care that met my needs. The whole program exceeded my expectations and I can't thank everyone enough for the impact they made on my life and mental health. Deciding to seek treatment was not an easy thing for me but I am so glad I chose Footprints to Recovery. It wasn't all just sitting around doing therapy all day and we got the chance to do yoga, art and music therapy, and also go outdoors with Adventure Recovery. Footprints was an absolutely stellar facility to go to after completing inpatient addiction treatment. The staff were all very patient and understanding during my biggest ups and downs during treatment, and I never felt any judgement even at my lowest points.
Recovery is such a serious rock to carry but the groups and providers helped me collect the tools necessary to be able to tackle this journey on my own.
The nursing team was incredibly helpful in finding me medications that are actually helping my mental health and addiction cravings. I've had more success in the three months I got to share with Footprints than the years I've worked with my primary care and therapist.
Andrew with case management is hilarious and hugely helpful with resources and managing work and life alongside treatment.
Anika is an incredible therapist and I am sad to leave her care, but know she will continue to do amazing things for other clients.
If you are struggling with any substance abuse, I highly recommend seeking help with Footprints. They will absolutely get you back on your feet.

My first time at New directions for families Valley hope was a safe secure program that supported me through the rough time of my recovery and allowing me recovery with my son and helped me build myself individually as well as a parent. I've even learned to build healthy bonds in which I've carried out of rehab successfully finishing the program and im thankful to have built these friendships 🫶🏽🫂 I've continued with IOP when I left and it feels great to be able to use everything I've learned in these programs with other woman entering sober living and recomend them for others who seeked extra help

Admitted into hospital after being in ER - heart issues. In the ER, the nurses, Denise and Wyatt, were exceptional. I also received excellent care from Dr Gunther and Dr Janik. Highly recommend both.
In the cardiac wing, Dr Brett, and Dr Maruch, the attending Dr were also exceptional. I felt well cared for and was treated with respect. The cardiologist, Dr Kahlon, was excellent. Also want to give kudos to a medical student, Kimia.

InnerBalance is a hidden gem among inpatient rehabs. I struggled with addiction for many years and went to several inpatient rehabs. Nothing was working. I was physically ill by the time I reached InnerBalance, with frequent seizures, low platelets and liver disease. I was in so much emotional pain and despair. InnerBalance gave me a lifeline. What made it so phenomenal, were the people who worked there, many of whom are still there today. There was an emphasis on nutrition and correcting imbalances in my body. I was allowed to go out at times to explore Loveland. That kind of normalcy and trust was meaningful. I was given support through group and individual therapy, as well as a nutritionist and life coach. The organic meals were very nourishing and the education around how to care for my mental and physical health were invaluable. They encouraged me to go to sober living after I left InnerBalance, which made a huge difference in maintaining my sobriety by giving my body and spirit more time to heal. I relapsed several times within that year, but because of the genuine support I had received from the counselors at InnerBalance, I did not continue in any of my relapses. I now have six and a half years of sobriety. InnerBalance gave me the support I needed to let go of what was holding me back from sobriety. I learned how to love myself in a way I never had before. It was just the beginning of my journey, but their program and everyone there, had a ripple effect that changed the way I approached early sobriety, and even the way I still approach my health. I’ve had the immense pleasure of working with their alumni program and Sandstone Care puts amazing effort into an aftercare community for their clients. Substance abuse and mental health are lifelong struggles, and the importance of long term community and support is immense. If you or a family member is looking into treatment, ask if they have an alumni program and are TPAS (Treatment Professionals in Alumni Services) members. That will tell if they care enough about their clients in the long term, even when they aren’t actively attending groups! A+ for Sandstone Care, more treatment centers should be like them.

Sandstone Care Denver is an incredible place, and I would absolutely recommend seeking treatment here. Every therapist I worked with was knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely committed to providing personalized, high-quality care.
I was initially nervous about participating in group therapy because I had never experienced it before, but it ended up being one of the most beneficial parts of my treatment. Regardless of what level of care you need—whether you attend a few days a week, once a week, every day, or participate in residential treatment—the team at Sandstone Care Denver takes the time to understand each individual and help create a treatment plan that fits their needs.
To say that Sandstone Care Denver helped me heal and get to a better place would be an understatement. I am incredibly grateful for this place and for the amazing staff who make it what it is. Through my time there, I gained valuable coping skills, new perspectives, a supportive community through group therapy, and, most importantly, a greater sense of hope for the future—something I was greatly lacking before.

I’m probably one of DWR’s biggest fans at this point, and for good reason.
From day one, I was met with compassion and a community of women who understood what I was going through. Shout out to the incredible therapists and staff, including Crystal, Amanda, Alex, Katie, Dr. Bader, Skylar, Macie, Lily, and MJ. Thank you for believing in me, pushing me to grow, have a different perspective, and putting up with my sarcasm along the way 😉.
The therapists and staff encouraged me to do the hard work of looking beneath the surface. They helped me rebuild my self-worth and reminded me that recovery is more about holistic healing, learning to trust yourself again, finding hope, and building a life worth protecting, and living!
Today, I show up in the world differently, because of the staff at DWR that taught me how. I’m far from perfect, but I’m more aware of the patterns that brought me here, more willing to have the hard conversations, a rooted knowledge and sense of who I am, and a whole toolkit I can pick up and practice. I don’t have it all figured out, but I have hope, a support system, and a life that I genuinely enjoy today.
The relationships I built there continue to be some of the most meaningful I’ve found. I found genuine friendship, hope, and a support system that has stayed with me long after treatment ended.
What has meant the most is knowing that DWR will be there long after you leave. They made it clear they would be there if I needed them, and they’ve continued to live out that promise. Knowing I always have DWR in my corner is something I won’t take for granted.
If you’re scared to take the first step, my advice is simple: just jump in. Choosing Denver Women’s Recovery was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, and I’m forever grateful for the role they played in helping me reclaim my life- I truly believe they helped save it.

I have never spoke publicly, about anything personal I wrote about. Writing a book was not something I shared anymore. So taking a giant leap I raised my digital hand and began to read to the many in this writing class, I kept me eyes down on my paper, nervously reading my story, using the prompt, at one point I briefly looked up at the laptop screen and saw hearts going up the screen, so I continued to read but my eyes went back and forth from my paper to the screen while the others in the class were posting comments. I was worried, did they not like it, I should not have volunteered to read my story, that I just wrote in a few minutes, these thoughts going through my head as was nearing the end of my story. I saw keeping going, more more, more, what happens at the end? as hearts continued going up the screen.I was Almost done reading my story, and I started to choke up with emotion, I continued with a cracked voice as tears rolled down my cheeks. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. People liked my story and how I wrote it. Once I stoped and Laura began to give great feedback I realized that the emotion that came through was validation that I can write, and I am smart enough to write. I didn’t expect such a good response from Laura, a published author, I just read a story, I wrote in a few minutes with no time to proof read, Laura said she loved how I didn’t reveal the persons name till halfway through the story and tears just came again. Rolling down my cheeks. Happy tears. Validation that even though I was told growing up I wasn’t smart enough, etc, I just believed that until I got counseling, at ERC, for an eating disorder I didn’t know I had and why. This work shop is so fantastic. It is as if it was a “continued” class from ERC. No judgment, a safe space, for anyone to tell their stories and by writing and reading your story to many others in that safe space is so therapeutic. We do follow the rules just as it was when I was in treatment 2 years in a row, nothing was to be talked about that could trigger someone. And even though those rules are followed to the T, the writers attending and sharing as I did for the very first time, we manage to put in words, on paper, what we are feeling and what might have happened in our lives wether it is good or sad. So with “unspoken words” and learning from Laura about writing styles we can still tell “our unspoken story” , without breaking the rules or triggering anyone. I come away with a refreshing sense of confidence and my heart I can tell over the years, healing. I would love this to be more then 4 times a year. I look forward to it a lot. Laura and Cara are fantastic. And anyone else that helps in putting this class together I want to say thank you to also. Thank you for the time everyone puts into preparing and giving the class, a safe place to learn, heal, and grow in all aspects of our lives, all the while we are learning how to make our writing better from these classes that Laura teaches. She gives us different ways of approaching a story without us knowing she did until after the class ends and as I am climbing in bed. The light bulb goes off in my head, and I say to myself , that is what Laura was saying and teaching us, as I smile and shut out the lights for bed. I will continue to attend these classes as long as they continue and I hope that will be forever.

I have struggled with alcohol for years. At Valley Hope, I realized I was among patients with less than 60 days sobriety. They were just like me. It made me feel comfortable. Some of the staff are in recovery so they could also identify with my own problems. I was treated as an individual and as an adult; with compassion and respect. Some of the patients are in recovery for a second or third time. If they have been somewhere else, they rate the experience at Valley Hope as their best. The food and accommodations were fine. You will get out of it what you put into it. I learned everyone's name. I went to Chapel and AA/NA meetings and participated in voluntary group activities. "Give it all you've got!"

I was a patient at Valley Hope for the month of February 2026. Valley Hope is a very caring center. The counselors all have a strong background in addiction recovery. The staff, from the nurses to the kitchen to the facilities workers truly care about every patient. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone needing help recovering from alcohol or narcotics addiction.
