Pine Lake Behavioral Health is the best clinic I have ever been to. I've been to other clinics in the past and consulted with various psychiatrists, but none compare to the experience here.
Jessica is the most outstanding psychiatrist I've ever had; she truly listens to your concerns and cares deeply about your wellbeing, offering the best care and treatment options available.
I entirely recommend her!! The nurses at this facility are incredible as well! They create a comfortable atmosphere and treat you like family! Carla and Anne have been nothing short of amazing, and I truly appreciate the effort they put in to ensure their patients feel at ease every single time they come in for treatments. Thank you!

My husband went through the independence center over 30 years ago. He did relapse after the first 3 months but he did not attend any aftercare or AA. Within a year he started going to AA and has been sober for almost 35 years. My son has also been through the independence center twice with varied success. He has had relapses but maintained sobriety for the majority of the time. He has used the tools he learned there to get sober again after relapsing without having to reenter treatment. When you are ready, you are ready. I did three rehabs in the span of three summers and I’ve been sober a year and a half since going to the Independence Center.
The ENTIRE staff wass genuinely interested in my recovery. Of course it’s up to me how honest I want to be with my counselor, Chaplin and myself (and God), but their unwavering encouragement doesn’t hurt and it didn’t. The facility is much better than others I’ve been to in Nebraska and they keep the distracting extracurricular horseplay to minimum. I was recently hospitalized for a relatively minor medical condition. The company I work for has an arduous process for returning to work after being laid off for medical reasons.
I desperately needed to be seen on short notice so that I could return to work. The staff at the Lincoln V.A. worked with me diligently. My primary care physician, Sasha Grantski, went above and beyond her normal duties to "squeeze" me in for an appointment.
Thanks to her and the Lincoln V.A. staff, I am back to work. I am extremely grateful.

I am the child of two parents who met at an AA meeting over thirty years ago. My mom and dad split when I was little because my dad was unable to defeat his demons. When I was 9 he overdosed for the final time on heroin. The last time I saw him was in prison. I’ve spent most of my twenties filling that emptiness with different substances such as alcohol, weed, painkillers, adderall, and most recently kratom. My substance abuse was destroying my relationship with my family.
I’ve always reached to something hoping to numb the pain of my reality, but currently I’m reaching for a different sort of healing. I’ve been blessed to have been put into Jason’s group. I am attending meetings three days a week and still struggle in my day to day, but I have learned that it’s okay not to always feel okay. Becoming sober has been one of the hardest things I have ever done, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. My performance at work has improved, my friendships are getting better, and I am learning to love myself. My biggest motivation to get healthy is my beautiful family. They deserve a father they can be proud of and I will continue with the program until I know I can trust myself to continue on my own.
Everyday presents its own challenges, but it is good knowing that there are people like Jason who care about what happens to me. He challenges the way I think and is one of the main reasons I decided to stick it out with the program. He is truly someone who practices what he preaches, and there is a part of me that doesn’t want to let him down.
If you have fallen victim to addiction, I promise that if you give valley hope a chance and buy into the program that you will start to like the person you see in the mirror again. I’ve hated myself for most of my life and have attempted suicide multiple times. For the first time in a long time I feel as though i can see a light at the end of the tunnel. For so long it was only darkness. I always wore a mask in public that was hiding the pain I felt in my heart. I am thankful my wife pushed me towards this program and I really want to continue towards being able to control my life and my impulses. My children deserve to have the father that I was never afforded. I don’t trust many people, but Jason has earned my respect and is ultimately why I decided to continue. I believe with his guidance and the program that valley hope provides that I will be able to stay on the path towards a better and fulfilling life. I’m not perfect and it’s possible I will make mistakes along the road to sobriety, but I do know that I will never let substances control my life again. I truly believe that. It’s okay to ask for help sometimes. Find your reason and realize that we have but one life in this beautiful world. Don’t continue to let those precious moments be stolen by a substance. Happiness comes from within, not from a bottle. If your reading this, know that there is always time to change the path. It isn’t an easy way to travel, but I have to believe that it is worth it. I’m gonna keep working towards long term sobriety for the sake of my family but also for the sake of my soul. Thank you Valley Hope

Omaha, NE | The Stephen Center HERO program, located in Omaha, Nebraska, offers addiction treatment for low-income or homeless adults aged 19 and older. If you’re dealing with a substance use disorder or you’re facing mental health challenges then they provide residential and outpatient care to help you get the support you need. They accept several paymen | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I haven't personally been a patient here, but I have had several friends complete the inpatient program for substance abuse, and they all seemed to like it. I know you can still smoke cigarettes, but no cell phones the first few weeks and limited if any contact at all with the outside world. It's coed, so that probably helps people when making a decision for an inpatient facility. Especially when we're talking 30+ days or more, detoxing off any and all things good, lol! The entrance to check in is tricky to find too, it's actually on the back side, or really, it might even be the side of the building under an awning. Hit the buzzer, and someone comes to help you get checked in.

Sarah (my therapist) and Dr. Bohart (my psychiatrist), as well as the entire staff at Blue Valley do a fantastic job of creating a collaborative and cohesive treatment plan. I began seeing them both years ago, I believe in 2021, and even after stepping away from therapy for a while - the Blue Valley team was always welcoming as I continued my medication management with Dr. Bohart.
And about a year ago when I returned to therapy after everything started feeling heavy and overwhelming again, Sarah was understanding of the non-linear healing process. Thanks to her authentic and honest approach to our sessions, it took no time for me to feel comfortable exploring even deeper aspects of my trauma than we had touched on the first time.
My therapy sessions feel right for what I expect and need in order to grow - for me this looks like a safe, warm and friendly environment that allows for a bit of humor, time to process, in depth discussions, open thought exploration and evaluation of thought processes, as well as where the frameworks and triggers stem from. Sarah's style is reassuring but also pushes me to see things from a new perspective. I have never left a session feeling unheard, and feel I play an active role in shaping my therapy sessions too (ex. I will sometimes have a singular focus I want to work on in a session, and if I'm ready to do the work - Sarah is always ready to support it).
She readily provides me with additional resources and research so I can form my own opinions and shares techniques to try in session and at home. I would recommend her to anyone, but particularly those who want to play a more active role in therapy. Sarah is always genuinely rooting for me to succeed, has always been professional in our sessions, but more importantly, it's quite clear how much she cares about helping and improving the lives of her patients.
The same can be said of Dr. Bohart, who listens to my endless questions when it comes to my medications and potential side effects or interactions. While I was pregnant and into post-partum, Bohart took excellent care of me. She made sure we were cautious in selecting medication that was safe during pregnancy and the right fit to best support and manage my condition with thoughtful dosages. Bohart is always open to exploring new solutions when possible - I had a reaction after prolonged use of one medication and Dr. Bohart's team took my concern seriously and helped me pivot to a new medication plan as quickly and safely. Bohart has watched me and my family grow over the last 5 years or more and always asks me about my daughter and how things are going. She will investigate any concern or question or new medication option thoroughly and often on the spot so I get answers immediately and feel confident leaving the session.
The office staff have always been so kind to me, even when mental health gets the best of me or life gets in the way and are quick to help me reschedule or arrange my sessions in a way that makes the most sense for my schedule. They know me by name and are genuinely happy to celebrate wins, milestones and help me to get the resources I need.
Blue Valley has always made me feel that progress is possible, that I can show up as I am and will be met with understanding, and that there is no shame in seeking help – even if you aren't always sure exactly what that looks like for you.

Omaha, NE | Omaha VA Medical Center is a veterans clinic that offers a variety of care to veterans and military members in Omaha, Nebraska. They take VA health insurance for service connected care and private insurance for non service connected care. They provide mental health support and can refer clients to targeted addiction treatment programs within the VA | Treatments Programs Payment Options | ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5/10, but rounding up to 5 stars because I’m grateful)
Going to the VA for a procedure that requires dropping your trousers usually ranks somewhere between auditing a tax return and dental work without anesthesia. We all know the reputation: bureaucratic gridlock, endless waiting rooms, and the nagging suspicion that your doctor might actually be three raccoons in a trench coat.
However, today’s visit to the outpatient surgical team completely shattered expectations.
I arrived for a highly specific, one-way, "snip-and-ship" mechanical adjustment. Let’s just say the cargo hold is now permanently closed for business, but the equipment remains operational.
The care team was phenomenal.
Was it incredibly awkward to have a small committee of federal employees intensely focused on my immediate undercarriage?
Absolutely. But the team leaned into the discomfort with a masterclass in tactical humor. Appropriate, well-timed jokes were deployed to distract me from the distinct smell of burning flesh and the realization that my lineage officially ends with my current lineup.
They handled the, uh, sensitive logistics with absolute professionalism and a highly appreciated level of wit. If you need some internal plumbing decommissioned, this is the crew to do it.
For your sake, I'm not adding photos to this review.

3/2026: firm believer in giving credit too. Womens clinic has worked hard to get me seen and schedule follow-up. And Silver clinic was outstanding!
01/2025 Update: What has happened to the Omaha VA?? Rushed appts, no staff to check you out, residents instead of seasoned docs (so procedures are painful - why are Vets guinea pigs?), and today a pharmacy tech who tells me the only way to ensure I got the right med is to look at the pills..... so the label change shouldn't concern me, the pills are right..... so the pharmacist that I spoke with last year, who corrected the Rx, who had the correct label, that doesn't matter? I'm supposed to know what my new mail center sends and to trust the doc & the pharmacy to send the correct med? I HAD the correct med in Florida, why did it change here? And how the heck would I know what the "right" pill looks like??? I only know the Rx is wrong when I have side effects, so thanks for wasting my time & arguing that it's "correct" when it does not appear to be so. If you'd simply label it properly and send the correct brand.....
This on top of trying to use the Community Care Website (as they are in the office so few hours....) and yet there is no way to send a copy of the referral to the doc? I created yet another VA online account and yet it's really not useful beyond general info. If you call the "help" number, it will simply (after numerous prompts) send you to your local VA..... how does that help? Their office is closed! So not really a helpline. And why does the referral I just received not show on my list of referrals?
This VA used to set the standard - the docs were caring, the staff engaging and on top of things.... what has changed?
Went to the VA for chest xray, and ended up going to urgent care. They were polite, caring, and took care to check things - and to explain the results. No big wait, everyone was kind and staff seemed happy to be there.

I have been here for about 10 years now and have seen the staff come and go. I will say that yes there are some things that need to be worked on here. But with that being said my family and I are in the process of moving, and chose to stay in the state near this area because of this clinic and the select few employees here who make this clinic what it is. First Susan the nurse has been a blessing, she is always so nice, compassionate, and helpfull by far one of the best nurses I have ever had the pleasure of working with and I feel that she is under appreciated and should be praised for her hard work and care to her patients. Second Leta, a newer counselor who has listened to my constant jabbering and never makes me feel judged and helps in any way she can to make me feel heard and assists in helping me stay on track. Next Daniel a very pleasent person and usually the first person you see for your treatment needs, he always tries to make you feel welcome and helps with whatever you need. And last the new pharmacist he had big shoes to fill when the last pharmacist left, and has been doing an amazing job since. I would say if your looking for an affordable treatment center with these people who I have mentioned caring for you. You should have a successfull transition into a sober life.

In comparison to other treatment centers I've been to, I was most impressed with The Bridge. Anyone truly looking to change one's life for the better, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. Great people, amazing program.
