About Clay Behavioral Health Center – County Road

Located in Middleburg, Florida, the nonprofit Clay Behavioral Health Center provides outpatient drug and alcohol services to adults and teens. Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accredited, they offer same day appointments. They also have a mobile response team for behavioral health issues that operates 24/7. They believe that addiction is a disease, not a moral failing or lack of willpower, so they take a healthcare mindset and will treat you with dignity and respect at every step of your recovery.

Adult Substance Use Programs

As an outpatient treatment center, this clinic offers individual counseling and group counseling to help you recover from addiction in a way that balances your treatment with your life. They offer dual diagnosis services, aftercare, and community education prevention programs as well.

In addition they have HIV education in regards to its relationship to substance use, and a parenting program in both group and individual settings. Drug Courts are a coordinated effort with courts and law enforcement to offer an alternative to incarceration. Clay County felony probationers can take advantage of their Department of Corrections services, including assessment, treatment, and referrals.

Children’s Services

Children and teen services include intervention, outpatient and intensive outpatient programs (IOP), and community education. They also collaborate with the Clay County School Board and the Clay Action Coalition. They have behavioral therapists in 22 of the county’s schools, and operate the “Be The Change” program in local high schools.

This treatment center also runs the Bannerman Substance Abuse Program for adolescents, an alternative school setting aimed at reducing substance use in schools and facilitating a return to mainstream education. Young people with a dual diagnosis of co-occurring mental health conditions and substance use disorder will be assigned a substance use coordinator. Children or adolescents with significant substance use issues may be eligible for adult services.

Clinic allowed for a prescription to be filled that should not have, which has lead to them jiving and lying about appointments being missed to cover their asses so they can say a patient is no longer active with their clinic & about letting medicine go out the door that shouldn't have.Colleen or who-the-hell-ever said in her own words"Yeah your psychiatrist shouldn't have prescribed that refill for XXXX but he did "And you all allowed for it to be picked up, knowing a refill for this particular medicine is necessary to avoid withdrawals (from the drug itself mind you)and wouldn't be available in the future, chose to not let anybody know they were about to lose their patient status.Your office staff is always rude, you have weird backdoor policies that change depending on who you are talking to and how you are feeling that day.You should be investigate thoroughly so we can see how many times you've done this and screwed over people in the community causing unnecessary mental anguish not only having to deal with your under qualified front office staff but now scrambling to prevent a lapse in their medication schedule

I've had an amazing run with Clay Behavioral. Dr. Menges has been working with me for YEARS and he's always been very kind, professional, and really listened to me. My Bipolar I has been treatment resistant and he has never stopped trying to find me the medication that WORKS. He finally found the medication and because I have no insurance, he has been working with me to get the cost to a manageable number. Could not recommend him enough.I've also been working with therapists here for years. I started meeting with Chris sometime in 2016 and she was amazing, helpful, patient -- one of the best people I've ever met. I've moved to seeing Brice and he has been amazing as well and works with how my mind works versus canned, cookie cutter responses. Also a huge recommendation.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
Intervention services helps family or friends of addicts stage an intervention, which is a meeting in which loved ones share their concerns and attempt to get an addict into treatment. Professional intervention specialists can help loved ones organize, gather, and communicate with an addict. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict's behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Honestly for clay behavioral I do not know what or how they’re inside credentials or services are or how they operate but as far as the CATT team treatment goes I unfortunately had to go through them again for my child. They are very unprofessional the “clinicians” are not helpful, they enable bad behaviors and they do not communicate clearly and constantly give you the run around. They set your child up with a team which has a clinician and a peer and a case manager whilst the clinician and or the peer goes and takes them to go play at a park or get coffee. They are not equipped for intense therapy and they like to be very much in your personal business. They’re is constant drama and they’re manners are very rude. They have done nothing but cause myself extra added on stress. Tried to get records and the case manager who said she would handle that kind of thing said I had to call records and request and it would be 30 days to receive them. This is what the generation has come to. The mental healthcare is completely failing and there needs to be more training and effort coming from places like these.

Y’all! I don’t do many reviews, but I had to. For the last 6 months, I’ve been in a bad way. Feeling hopeless and not good enough. I’ve to other therapist before. I was reluctant, but I needed help….and I got it! Ms. Monique, was and is, an actual God send 🥲. I was comfortable, didn’t feel like a number, cried bad and happy tears, felt seen, justified for how I felt, given tools to better me. Ms. Monique did that. She gave me encouragement, never felt judged or that I was a joke to tell over dinner. I can keep going on, but my baby has the flu. THANK YOU MS. MONIIQUE!!!! I really don’t know where I would be without you and our Heavenly Father 🥹🥲❤️!

Irresponsible medication management. My partner came out of inpatient care and they consistently dropped the ball with his medications leaving him to fall back into a dangerous depression.

I've been seeing Dr. F at this office since 05/2013. During/after covid, we switched to all virtual. At the end of each call, I would be reminded to stay on the line to schedule with a nurse. This stopped happening. The office stopped mailing reminders, stopped calling for reminders. I had my last medication refill in 03/24. I called to schedule a new appointment, and was told my chart had been de activated. They are now treating me like they have never been my mental health provider. STAY AWAY! This practice absolutely does NOT care about it's patients. They now want a patient of over a decade to come in to re do intake paperwork with an ASD Child due to their incompetence. -Stars.

Have been going here for services since I was 11 years old. Some therapist may not be a right fit for you but if you do ask they will find more suitable therapist for you. Never had a issue with a psychiatrist, my first one was doctor Hassan who sadly had to relocate. She was excellent and my other psychiatrist Dr. F is phenomenal. People have to keep in mind yes they are their to help you but everyone can have bad days so don't judge them on that. It's a part of life. <-- For all the posters hating on the staff members.

Med management here mixes medications unsafely, and ups doses on scripts that aren't working until they make you sick. Then they act like they don't know what made you sick. Ended up in the hospital twice because of them. If you are a parent of a kid going here PLEASE look up interactions for any medications they are prescribed. The therapists in their system are actively harmful. They are not trauma informed, disrespect the limits of their patients' physical and developmental disabilities, and when their bad practices don't work, they blame the patient.
