What is the difference between inpatient and outpatient rehab at Cove Behavioral Health?

Inpatient rehab involves living full-time at the facility and receiving around-the-clock care, while outpatient rehab allows individuals to live at home and attend scheduled treatment sessions. Cove Behavioral Health offers both options to fit varying levels of care needs, helping clients choose based on their lifestyle, support system, and recovery stage.

Can I receive treatment at Cove Behavioral Health if I have a co-occurring mental health condition?

How long does a typical treatment program last at Cove Behavioral Health?

Treatment duration varies based on individual needs and the type of program. Detox may last a few days, while residential or outpatient programs can span several weeks or months. Treatment is customized to promote sustainable recovery rather than following a fixed timeline.

I think this place should be shut down for unsanitary conditions. The board of health was just in there today. It's more like a prison, Adults run it and adults taking part in getting services. The place looks horrible old, dirty, and dated. You need to remove all bedding and replace the nasty stained 3-in mats. Not a mattress but a jail mat that you have people sleeping on for 4 months at a time. How they talk to people is substandard. I know some people may need to be talked to a little harshly. All people do not need to be talked down too. You should be able to distinguish the difference. You should be aware of people's feelings. How would you like it if you were homeless, you need to put yourself in these people's shoes. Speak from that perspective. I wouldn't take cockroaches to the pound just to come back there and sleep in that filth. Tampa just received 85.8 million it was giving to the CARE program for the homeless. Use it for the homeless. You need to take a class in empathy. To me it is not proficiently ran. Respect people because one day you could be in their shoes. Treat people with kindness. Better yet, treat people the way you would want you're loved one to be .. treated it's only going to get worstreated before it gets any better. The world is coming to an end as we know it. If you're not vibrating high left behind.

My son was going here for 5 years for methadone maintenance. He's been paying $3 a day for that length of time. He went up there the other day and they told him it was now $15 a day and if he couldn't pay it then he just couldn't dose. This place has been a joke for a long time but it's getting worse by the day. Almost. The guy that runs the methadone program, Mike, has been there longer than anybody and it's probably cuz he just cannot get another job. Job. One there stays because it's a joke. The doctor that is there right now is leaving at the end of the month because of what they are doing. They need to talk to some past employees and find out what is really going on at this place. I know the help a lot of people but they are screwing just as many as they are helping. And then why don't you tell people what The side effects are! Why did I have to lose every tooth in my mouth after going there myself for several years. I really think at this point that you're doing more harm than good, and I hope your funding sources become aware of it. There has got to be a better way. What you're doing borders on extortion. What is a person supposed to do when you raise them from $3 to $15 a day with no warning. So much wrong with this place. Needs a total overhaul!

Ms. Jackson, We strive to make medication assisted treatment affordable to all based on available grant funding. Transitioning from grant support to self-payment is not unusual and actually reflects our commitment to helping as many individuals as possible within our limited funding. As individuals become stable in their recovery and gain recovery capital, individuals are transitioned to self-payment to allow individuals just entering treatment to have the same opportunities for support and success. We continue to work together to support as many individuals as we can within limited resources on their recovery journey.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient rehabs encompass multiple levels of care to facilitate clients' progress through their recovery journey. Clients who are stepping down from inpatient treatment may require intensive outpatient (IOP) treatment, which involves more frequent and substantive therapeutic interventions than does standard outpatient care. Outpatient centers typically provide extensive addiction counseling, including individual, group, and family therapy. Medication assisted treatment programs (MAT) and recovery-focused life skills training are also common in outpatient care.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) involve frequent and robust therapeutic sessions for clients requiring high-level care. Clients may engage in a combination of medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction counseling, recovery skills training, and holistic therapies for a minimum of nine and a maximum of 20 hours per week. Intensive outpatient rehab is designed primarily for persons in early recovery, those exiting detox or inpatient care, and those at an elevated relapse risk.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are a collection of highly individualized services designed to promote long-term recovery. These services evolve as your needs change. Case managers and recovery teams typically begin formulating the rehab aftercare service plan early in the recovery process to facilitate your reintegration back into the home, workplace, and community.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs support recovery through emotional, psychological, and spiritual development to address the root causes of addiction. These programs are peer directed, with participants regularly attending 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, and accessible day and night, year-round. Recovery is based on "working the steps" to understand the source of addiction, take accountability for one's life choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Age-specific, gender-separate, and other specialized programs are widely available.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
If a person with a substance use disorder continually denies their problem or refuses to get treatment, a drug intervention in Florida may be necessary. Intervention services can help mediate the intervention by providing an addiction expert. This professional can de-escalate situations and facilitate a healthier discussion between the individual and their loved ones. Specialists can also help families handle issues they don't know how to navigate on their own.
partial-hospitalization iconPartial Hospitalization Program
Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.
24-hour icon24-Hour Clinical Care
24-hour clinical care in Florida is an essential part of treatment, particularly with medical detox. Withdrawal symptoms can be severe, and supervised detox provides around the clock access to medical professionals who can adminsiter proper medications and treatment to address these symptoms and step in should an emergency occur. This intensive clinical care will help curb the withdrawal effects, minimize substance dependence, and prepare you for the next step of treatment.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
lgbtq-program thumbnail image
LGBTQ Program
Recovery is most successful when clients feel accepted and validated by their peers and treatment providers. Facilities that offer LGBTQ-inclusive programming are committed to creating a safe space where everyone can grow and recover without fear of judgment or discrimination. They will have dedicated policies in place to create a safe and supportive environment that fosters free expression.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Therapists who apply cognitive behavioral therapy in Florida believe patient thoughts and behaviors are closely linked. They use this treatment method to help clients change their thought patterns so they can also change behaviors and break free from substance abuse.

Group therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for people in Florida who are struggling with drug addiction. There you can openly discuss the challenges and progress you're making without fear of judgment from your peers who experience many of the same things you are.

Individual therapy often includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. This is a structured approach to identifying and changing negative thought patterns. During therapy you learn how what you think drives your actions so you can develop healthier coping strategies to manage addiction triggers and reduce drug use.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.

Life skills are the core skills you need for daily success. They can include self care, stress management, daily routines, and emotion control. Rehab treatment includes the development of these skills so you have the tools you need for long term recovery.

Zero stars will given,,,, Absolutely the worst treatment center in all of Tampa area. Take the small jail sentence before coming here trust me on this jail is cleaner, better, and officers are nicer then any staff there. Staff is unprofessional, zero consistency, food is disgusting and horrible to the max, super racist as well, they apply for food stamps for you and feed you the bare minimum bottom of the barrel food. They have you all day long in these meetings with clueless counselors to how to treat addicts and people with issues. Mrs Reid and Mr Smith should be fired with the merge of gracepoint buying them out since the problems there start with the all top administration, they will deny you services and resources constantly and get upset when your own family support system brings them for you. Bathrooms are clogged and don’t work well, smells horrible, there’s portable fans on floors in dorms, broken lockers to secure your stuff, they allow 1 tv at 95 degrees to watch Netflix at some times during the day and that’s it. Please pick another treatment center to go. This place really suckssssss. More like a homeless shelter with zero recovery. Only one person really cares about the recovery process and that’s Mr John that takes us 1 time to an outside meeting and provided goodies for us while there and makes us feel like humans good people. So proud of him for sticking it out while all his peers are down graded employees. So sad all the way around.

This place is the absolute worst!! For weeks (6 weeks) I was wrongfully accused of using drugs in one form or another. And each week I would have to defend myself. They didn’t send the tests off to verify the results because “that costs money”. I was simply accused and left to sort it out on my own. I had to get the court involved and that’s when I was told “you Catastrophize, everything and that’s an issue” but that’s when they started sending the tests to the lab only to show THEY WERE ALWAYS WRONG! They have no idea what is going on! Their model is make assumptions that you’re a junkie and that’s what it is. The classes are stupid, they are of zero substance. They cost me an $80k a year job because they want you to come in at the drop of a dime and damn everything else in your life. The only thing that matters to COVE is COVE. Calling them disorganized would be giving them a compliment. You can definitely find somewhere better, somewhere that understands your life can’t revolve around IOP

Worst place ever. Residential treatment was like jail. Staff acted like correction officers. Cove lost my belongings. After 3 weeks I finally got my hygiene products that my mom sent in for my fist drop off. Was denied my medication because staff misspelled medication in the computer after three weeks still didn't see a doctor. You're just a number there to fill the beds for funding. Nothing I was told about the process was correct. Go anywhere else but here. Have to contact a lawyer regarding belongings they lost.

If your looking for recovery you should probably go somewhere else..I got kicked out because one of the staff members decided to creep up and look through the stall at me while I have my pants down on the toilet and accused me of something that didn't take place and kicked me out on a weekend knowing I had no clue where I'm at,I'm from Sarasota and to top it off they wouldn't give me my card back told me I had to wait till Monday so I literally had nothing...all because I was crushing an ibuprofen to put up in my abscessed tooth.. thanks cove

Cove is a joke! I came here for a court ordered evaluation, despite the reviews given online prior to going in, I entered with my own experience willing to come here because it was one of the few places that could get me in quick. I was told the evaluation was free, and that treatment was not always recommended as I was not ordered to do any treatment. Just complete the eval. Little did I know before even being evaluated I was recommended unnecessary treatment and a 6 week plan before even exploring any “mental health or personal related issues” because of my “situation that I was in, in the first place”. I was told by the evaluator “No matter who it is I can’t sign an evaluation that goes to my supervisor that doesn’t recommend treatment, it will be returned as denied” Treatment for the 6 week program was $500 and they take very few insurance. I wouldn’t recommend going here for anything court ordered especially if you’re promised it will be quick and easy.

This is by far the most unprofessional place I have ever visited in my life! I was referred here for mental health care. I had spoken to an operator previously and was advised hours of operation is from 7:30-3:30pm Monday-Friday. I then sent an email for confirmation and was connected with Denzel Caddel. He then advised that I would 1st need to come in and complete an evaluation to determine the care/services that would work for me. He had advised to come in Monday-Friday between 7am-3pm. I thought it was odd that I was given 2 separate times, but I was excited to know that I could come as early as 7:00, that way I could arrive a little early and try to be one of the 1st to be seen. I arrived at 6:47am. I went to the front office and was told that the doors was on the side building where I needed to go for the evaluation and that I could sit there in the front lobby as the office didn't open until 7:00. At 6:58am I started to make my way to the side of the building. I seen a woman walking towards the doors with crates and asked if she needed any assistance and she said she had it. I tried to follow her in the lobby, but she stated the doors did not open until 7:30. I had explained how the receptionist area in the front had just told me they open at 7:00, but she said no, they do not open until 7:30. I then waited in my car until 07:35, then headed back to the double doors to see if the doors had opened. This time, there was another woman waiting as well whom explained that she had been coming there for years and that they are usually open at 07:30 as her appointments are usually at 8:00 and she likes to arrive early. We chatted for while and she was explaining to me how things at this office constantly changes with no updates and how she is used to it. A little skeptical I continued to wait. It was at 7:47 is when I started to get worried. The lobby doors were open but no one at the front receptionist desk and no one at all in the office, and it was dark. At about 8:00am I emailed Denzel Caddel that I had been there since 6:47am and that no one had even arrived. I am sure he probably was not in yet so I just waited for a response. At exactly 8:03am a African American woman walked in with a large bag. I guessed that she was one of the staff, but was not sure as she didn't speak at all. I advised that I had been there since 6:47am and she rudely stated "Well I was late and even if I was not, it will still take 2-3 hours to be seen, minus the evaluation. I was so upset, she didn't apologize, show no empathy or remorse, just a silent smirk like " and so what I was late". At that point I had seen enough and left. I could never imagine working or even volunteering at a mental/behavioral health center with such a lousy attitude knowing I am there to specifically help people. She is the reason so many many people do now get the help they need. The awful "I don't care attitude" was beyond me. The coming in late and not even speaking or even acknowledging your guest so so hurtful. I had gotten up so early, before even taking my children to school, wasted 3 hours of my time, 2 hours of work and all for nothing. I was there for 1 thing and did not leave with anything but anger, an unexcused absence/late clock in and still having to rush home to get my children ready for school to arrive late all for nothing. I would never recommend this place to anyone. I had gotten up so early, before even taking my children to school, wasted 3 hours of my time, 2 hours of work and all for nothing.
